Hello, everyone!

So, I'd like to view some actual tutorials that show the basics of HTML's syntax and mechanics (preferably something that starts easy and eases me into the more complex stuff), but I can't really find any here.

I have some programming experience, but this is the first time I would be using HTML. Every language has its own vocabulary and nuances, and it'd be nice to know that stuff.

I'd recommend W3Schools for pretty much everything related to HTML, CSS and JavaScript. CSS-Tricks is another really good site with lots of cool things you can do with HTML, but most of the stuff requires a decent amount of knowledge beforehand.

But those are basically a dictionary and a thesaurus for websiteing. Personally, I started learning HTML on Code Avengers and Codecademy. Both of these guide you through the processes, starting easy then progressively becoming harder. They teach in relatively different styles from each other, so it'll be worth your time to check out both of them. Lastly, I'd also recommend your private workshop. Learning through experience is, in my experience, the most efficient way of gaining knowledge.

Hope that helps!

You can also check out the tutorials, or more specifically, design tutorials. @IctoraPost's recommendations might be better though.

Do you think any of those coding courses could teach you coding without the help of a teacher?

I'll second codecademy. It was really helpful for me.

I'll also second W3Schools, it's great once you actually know what it is you're trying to do and have *some* idea of how to do it but none of the specifics.

Code Academy really doesn't take very long at all and is pretty easy. I'd highly recommend taking an hour or so to familiarize yourself with it. Not only would it help here, but you get a more in-depth understanding of it than for the forum, and could be used as a known skill at some point in your life.
