Realistic or Modern I need more than your Photograph

He frowned and shook his head "No... No sweetheart... you're drunk... and I'm soberin' up... I can't do this right now... I'm sorry." He whispered, getting up and passed her her joggers before leaving the room, getting changed into pyjamas and just getting her a glass of water and some ibuprofen, leaving it just outside her door for the morning then went to bed, not wanting to end up making things worse

She frowned deeply as he started to leave "No...no Joe please..." she called but it was too late. She felt her heart break a little when he didn't come back after that. She wasn't as drunk as he thought she was, and she knew exactly what she was doing and what she wanted. Soon though she fell asleep after crying silently.

He woke up with a hangover, just grumbling a little about the fact he never used to get hangovers but these days every drink was paired with one, looking up when he heard Max's door open and just sighed quietly, pretending to still be asleep when she came out to the lounge, not wanting to deal with the awkwardness between them now

Max woke up that next morning and sighed heavily holding her head. She got up throwing on her joggers and a shirt quickly. She opened her door frowning deeply as she saw the ibeprofen and water. After picking it up and taking it she went out to the kitchen area making another glass of water for Joe. She sighed heavily as she saw the martini glasses and started to clean up as quietly as possible. Once she was done she placed the glass of water and medicine on the small side table before leaning over and placing a soft kiss to the top of his head

He tensed ever so slightly when she did that , eventually stirring when he heard the TV on quietly and just sat up, taking the painkillers and wandered over to the bathroom to brush his teeth, not ready to face her or whatever was going to be going on between them now although the fact she'd kissed his head filled him with a bit more hope than he was expecting

Max moved away from him after that and turned on the TV keeping the volume down quietly. She watched him as he got up not knowing what to really say or do. She wanted to tell him how much she wanted him back, not just physically either. She wanted to be with him again, these past few weeks had proven that to her. As he came back she gave a small smile "Good morning." She said sweetly

He hummed in response, rubbing at his face and trying to ignore the pounding in his head while he tidied up the bed, doing some stretches as well to try and sort his back out, a little concerned about sleeping in that bed long-term but he pottered around the kitchen most of the morning until he got to a point where he had had enough just before lunch time and looked over at Max still on the couch "Fuck it." He mumbled, going over and lifting her up bridal style "I'd say your room or mine but you've only got one." He muttered, carrying her in there and lay her on the bed moving to hover over her, his chain dangling towards her "You sure about this?" He asked her, wanting to hear her sober thoughts.

Max stayed quiet most of the day, only getting up to brush her teeth and use the restroom. She guessed he wasn't going to talk about it so neither would she. Though as lunch time rolled around and he came by to pick her up she yelped out of surprise "Joseph what are you-" she stopped though when she heard what he said. Looking up at him as he hovered over her she couldn't believe this was actually happening "I was sure last night, just like I am now." She whispered before lightly tugging at his chain and bringing his lips down to hers.

He just nodded and tangled his fingers into her hair, deepening the kiss, one hand moving down to fiddle with buttons and get their clothes off. It felt like their first time all over again he was that desperate for her touch... He lay next to her after and frowned, pulling her in closer "I missed you." He murmured into her hair while he caught his breath

Max panted softly after they finished curling into him and wrapping her arms around him. That had been amazing to her, maybe it was because it had been so long, but she was pretty sure that it was really just being with him. She nodded softly "I missed you too." She admits nuzzling her face in his neck "I missed you so much."

He just held her tightly to him, sniffling a little "I don't know if it's the hangover but... I just... I'm not letting you go again... Not ever." He murmured to her, kissing her head repeatedly, a couple tears coming out out of joy that he had her back but also relief. "Can I use your bed now cause mine is killing my back." He chuckled quietly.

Max let a few tears fall as well as she listened to him "Yes of course you can." She said giving a small laugh before wiping her eyes and looking up at him "I regretted every day after I left...I loathed myself but I thought if I tried to call or reach out you'd scream or ignore me." She explained quietly while playing with his chain "I know I never said it...but I love you Joseph Quinn. I love you so fucking much." She admits before kissing him lovingly

He smiled a little and kissed her back, holding her to him. “I missed your smell.” He mumbled, burying his face into her shoulder and groaned a little. “But that was not good for my hangover.” He mumbled

Max laughed lightly "I've missed everything about you." She murmured tracing patterns on his chest "Yeah...didn't do wonders for mine either." She said before yawning some "I say we make some food and just come back in here for cuddles and TV. I think thats in the top five things I missed most, your cuddles."

He smiled and just hummed in response, but by the time she’d finished talking he was already fast asleep, the most relaxed he’d been in a very long time.

Max laughed lightly but smiled as she watched him "Or sleeping...sleeping works too." She whispered to herself before cuddling up close and falling asleep with him. She woke up about an hour later groaning softly when she felt him trying to get up "Noooo stay here, you're so comfy and warm." She whined

He grumbled a bit and kissed her head. “I don’t think you want me peeing in your bed darling.” He murmured, getting up to use the restroom and then getting back to bed, pulling her in close. “Lazy day today then huh?” He mumbled. “Fuck do we even know what day of the week it is?” He grumbled

Max gave a small nod and finally let him go. As he came back she clung back onto him nodding "Yeah and its Wednesday." She murmured hiding her face in his chest inhaling his scent. She tangled her legs with his and sighed contently "You're so comfy, have I ever told you that? Though I do miss your little bit of pudge."

He frowned and just just grumbled a big, “I think you used to…. I’ll make that salmon tonight.” He mumbled, moving to get them both comfy so they could turn on the tv quietly, just tracing patterns on her arm quietly still feeling the alcohol.

Max nodded some and turned on TV making sure the sound was low enough for him. She gasped softly as a commercial came on for dogs with a british bulldog "Oh they are just the cutest damn dogs ever!" She gushed as she watched it "I just wanna squish it."

He groaned again and shook his head. “That was so loud.” He mumbled and kissed her cheek yawning big. “I love you but I don’t feel good. Please.” He mumbled into the pillow, closing his eyes again trying to get more sleep.

Max giggled lightly and nodded some "Sorry." She whispered before turning her attention back to the TV. It had been a little over 2 months before they heard anything from set. But really it had only been Joseph to hear anything. She had came home from a little walk around the apartment complex to find him sitting in the living room with a brand new guitar at hand "Um....Joe why do you have a guitar?"

He looked up and smiled “I can’t tell you…. No I’m serious I can’t tell you.” He muttered, setting it to the side and got up, “Can you write the list so I can go get groceries please? I need to get out.” He told her quietly, pecking her lips. “And you’re not coming.” He told her seriously

Max raised an eyebrow but gave a small nod "Oh fine." She murmured before going over and pecking his lips gently "Alright give ms just a minute." She said before grabbing her little notebook and making a list for him "Here handsome, not too much right now."

He smiled and watched her a little, grabbing the list while he chucked shoes on, heading to the grocery store and coming back a couple hours later. “It was bloody packed.” He muttered, putting the groceries away and went to carry on looking over things from the work email, glancing into their room to see her taking a nap so he shut her door quietly and got to it on practicing the song they’d given him but he managed an hour or so before he had to put it down cause he’d started feeling unwell, laying on the couch on his front not wanting to wake her up.
