Max smiled and laughed lightly at him "Mmm alright then." She said softly kissing his cheek gently "Are you excited to go to Brazil? I've heard its beautiful." She murmured while wrapping her arms around him and pressing her face into his back between his shoulder blades

He sighed a little. “I’m going for a day but it’s with Jamie so it shouldn’t be too bad.” He murmured. “Remember don’t watch interviews you’ll get spoilers for the show.” He reminded her, turning around and lifting her onto the counter.

Max groaned but nodded some "I promise not to watch them. But I'll call you when I finish it." She said happily kissing the back of his neck gently "I hope you're in next season. I adore Eddie." She said softly before giving him a squeeze

He smiled and kissed her head. “Mmm… let’s go get you some groceries and then laze here all day.” He murmured, kissing her head before pulling away to go get dressed and some shoes on.

Max smiled happily and gave a small nod "Yes we need more ice cream, you ate the last of that delicious dairy free stuff you got. It was soooo good." She said giving a small laugh before she got her shoes on.

He chuckled a little and nodded. “Yeah that’s why I ate it darling.” He told her, waiting for her to be ready and left the apartment with her, taking her straight to the store.

His trip to Brazil came way too fast for either of their likings. Max was sat at home finishing the end of the show finally and when the end credits rolled she was a complete mess. She quickly dialed Joe not even thinking of the time difference they had at the moment. She called again and again until he finally picked up after the fourth try "Why....why...why didn't you warn me!" She sobbed down the line "Why didn't you warn me about Eddie?!" She sobbed

He groaned a little and finally got to his phone, answering a little rushed seeing the clock read 3am. “Hello? I…. Babe… I’m sorry, you said no spoilers.” He told her gently. “You scared me I thought something was wrong.” He mumbled, rubbing at his face and lay back in the hotel bed again. “Why are you up so late?”

Max sniffled some and relaxed a little "But you could have hinted at something..." she whimpered "I was watching and just lost track of time. Joe you're coming home right? Tomorrow?" She asked starting to find it hard to breath. Seeing him die even though it was a show scared her to death. She wanted him home safe in her arms frowning a he kind of laughed saying she was being a little over dramatic "No..no Joe I'm not I just...I want to know you're safe, please....it really scared me." She admitted

He was smiling a little til he heard the panic in her voice. “Sweetheart I can’t come back yet. I got press all over the place.” He told her gently. “I’m okay.. I promise look… hold on.” He mumbled, getting up and turning g the lights on, pressing FaceTime, smiling a little seeing her face pop up. “See… right here. I’m okay love.” He coaxed her gently, frowning when she just seemed to start crying more.

Max looked at her phone and changed to facetime as well. She saw his face and nodded before she started to cry more. All she saw was his face covered in blood like from the show "Yeah....there you are." She whimpered taking deep breaths "Oh god Joe....that scared me so much."

He frowned and watched her some. “Oh babe I’m sorry…. If you want … I could try and see if you could get a flight to London for the couple days we’re both free but currently in different countries… I don’t know if doing that would be good for you though. It’s a long flight for two days.” He murmured.

Max sniffled and nodded softly "Yeah....you have a point. Just please call me all the time okay? Just to ease my nerves." She said starting to calm down just a little bit "I'm sorry for waking you."

He smiled rubbing at his face. “That’s alright…. You should know by now that my characters never have a good ending though.” He teased her a little. “Babe I’m gonna go back tl sleep. Get some rest. I’ll see you soon okay? I love you.” He murmured.

Max took a deep breath before giving a small nod "Alright,I love you so much Joe." She said softly before ending the call. She soon fell asleep after that still scared and worried about him.

He was worried when he continued getting texts from her constantly for the first couple of days but she seemed to relax off despite how bad he still felt about the situation, trying to work out how to make it up to her until she started sending him puppy videos again and after a string of fifteen in the space of three minutes he’d got the idea. Once he was back stateside all he had to do was organise the pickup and he met his manager in Georgia, taking the puppy off he’d after a hundred thank yous, grabbed some flowers on the way and eventually showed up at the front door to surprise her with a visit and a present, banging on it loudly.

She was constantly texting him after that. She just wanted to make sure he was safe and that everything was okay. After the initial shock wore off she relaxed a bit and went on to her usual antics of sending him funny or cute videos. She frowned as a loud knock echoed through their apartment. She raised an eyebrow and opened the door gasping when she saw Joe "Joseph!" She nearly screamed flinging the door completely open and throwing her arms around his neck kissing him lovingly

He chuckled quietly and pulled her in close on the side. “Hey careful now… you’ll squish him.” He murmured, finally having her step back and see the puppy in his arms. “I got 36 hours before I gotta get up to New York.” He murmured happily. “Thought I’d come surprise you and help set things up for your new housemate.” He smiled.

Max stepped back looking at him confused. She gasped though when she finally saw the puppy in his arms "Oh....Oh Joe he is perfect!" She gushed taking the puppy in her arms and crying softly "I love him." She said before kissong him again "Then we should make the best of these 36 hours huh?" She said happily before letting him in "Did you name him?" She asked as she held the puppy above her head "Whats your name huh? Oh you are just so precious yes you are." She cooed in a baby voice.

He smiled watching her grab the puppy and take him inside, following her with his suitcase and shut the door behind him. “No babe he’s your dog… I kinda… I felt awful when you phoned while I was in Brazil and I wanted to make it up to you and you’ve been talking about a dog for ages…. He’s 14 weeks.” He told her smiling while he put the flowers in the kitchen. “You’ve got all the supplies arriving tomorrow but I’ve got a bed and his food and a blanket that has his mums smell on it. Few toys…. You like him?” He asked her

She smiled widely as she listened to him and nodded happily "Oh Joe....you didn't have to do that." She said feeling a little bad now thar she had made him feel bad. She went over to him.and kissed him lovingly before nodding softly "I love him." She murmured before turning her attentiom back to the puppy "I think I shall name you Kas, what do you think?" She asked smiling more as the puppy licked at her face "Oh I think he likes it,what do you think daddy? Do you like the name mommy picked?" She asked not even thinking fully about how he may not like treating the dog like a joint child.

“Babe that’s a dog. Not a baby… but he’s Kas is great.” He murmured pecking her cheek and going to get a shower in after the long flight just feeling icky. “You wanna go out for dinner?” He called to her as he came out, smiling seeing her playing with the puppy on the floor.

She rolled her eyes a bit but soon let him go off while she played with the puppy. She looked up at Joe from the floor as he came out and nodded some "Chicken wings! I'm really craving them." She said before smiling when Kas ran over to him trying to play "Awww he like you."

He crouched to play with him a little and chuckled. “Chicken wings sounds good. They got a Buffalo Wild Wings nearby or a TGI Fridays.” He smiled watching her as the puppy ran back over to her. “He’ll grow into the ears… kinda.” He murmured getting changed and going to sit with her.

Max smiled happily and laughed some "Oh his ears are the best!" She cooed before she went to get him situated in the kitchen "Okay I'll be right back." She said softly to him before she went to the room to change. She smiled widely seeing Joe in the middle of changing "Hurry up because you deserve a proper hug." She said happily. As he finished she quickly ran into his arms and kissed him lovingly "You are amazing, truely amazing, Joseph Quinn."
