Jack smiled and then nodded," Ok, but before we do anything you need to go rest. You can take my bed and I'll sleep here for tonight."

Janai looked at him "but the homework..shouldn't I do that" she spoke even though she never really understoood any of the work she was given

Jack shook his head and said," Forget about it. Besides if this is where you will be staying I can help you with what ever you are struggling with." He then smiled and said," You just go to bed. You need to rest."

Janai nodded "yes sir, I guess I'll see you tomorrow " she spoke unsure how her new life will be. She walked into his room and sat on his bed "at least I can sleep on a proper bed." She thought.

Jack then sighed when she went to his room. He then picked up the phone and called child services and explained what was going on. He then told them that he would apply to be her guardian. They agreed. He then hanged up and would explain everything to her in the morning.

Janai just couldn't sleep, her mind was still scared. after months of this, she couldn't sleep easy. She sat up on the bed and looked around the room "he has a nice bed..but how can I possibly live here when there's only one room?" she questioned

Jack slept on the couch and when he woke up in the morning he got up and went to his room and knocked on the door and asked," Are you up?"

Janai mumbled as she finally got an hour sleep "yup I'm up" she spoke getting up

Jack then said," well when your ready come into the kitchen we need to talk." he then left and sat down at the table.

Janai nodded "o..Okay." she spoke walking out. "What do you need to talk to me about sir?"

Jack folded his hand then rested his elbows on the table and said," I talked to child services and there will be a court held against your father and i have convinced them to let you stay with me as your guardian.

Janai nodded "D..Does that mean I have to go to court?" she spoke in fear "I am affaird of my dad..I don't want to face him again" she spoke with a yawn "I better get ready for school.." she spoke

Jack then said," They only require a statement for you." Then when she mentioned school he said," Well do you have everything you need?"

Jack nodded then said," Ok just meet me back in here when you are ready to go."

Janai nodded and went to pack her school bag. she soon came back "Ready" she spoke

Jack nodded and then smiled as he stopped at the door with her and gently placed one hand on her shoulder before saying," Don't worry everything will be alright."

Janai looked at him "what if people at school start asking why i was with you?" she asked

Jack just chuckled and as they walked he looked over at her and said," Just tell them the truth or if you are not comfortable with that then just change the story a bit."

Janai "I'm fine with it I guess" she smiled

Jack smiled and gently patted her on the back and said," Good and we are here." He then began to walk into the school after saying," see you in class."

Janai nodded "yea see you soon" she spoke walking in

Jack went through the day as normal and when he got questioned by the teachers as to why he was walking together with Janai he simply told them the truth, but later on he heard a couple of student girls saying that there was more between him and Janai. He sighed as he heard this and just went on with the class.

Janai sighed as the day had been long and full of rumours "nothing is going between us" she sighed as she went to her locker she found a note saying her and jack were in a thing "why me" she sighed as she went to her math class
