I will admit that when I posted, I expected to only get two or three people interested in the concept, so thank you all for joining! 10 posts between 9+ people is an awful lot of reading to try and incorporate into one story. So, I would like to propose to you all the option of duplicating the RP and running them concurrently. That would be 5 people in one thread and 5 people in the other with me doubling up to run things unless anyone else joins. Please vote in the poll and add your thoughts on this.

Oh, and feel free to put your first post up as soon as you like, everyone! The Section 1 post if fair game. If I didn't make it clear, the characters do not have any interaction between each other until Section 2, so you don't need to react to what anyone else has written for this part.

Like I know it's a lot of interest but IME we won't see all of us at the end line despite only 10 posts each. I'd rather be wrong tho lol

And just as a fun little glimpse, the way I am assigning powers is this:

11. Shapeshift
12. Power Replication
13. Energy Construction

17. Fire Breathing
18. Perfected Balance
19. Phasing
20. Aegis

Using the above list, I will roll a d20 when assigning powers to everyone. Once a power is assigned, it cannot be assigned again and I will re-roll. For example. if I rolled Telekinesis for Nellancholy (who posted first) and then later rolled Telekinesis again for Idea , I would keep rolling until I received a result that had not yet been claimed. I have done my best to balance out these powers. Some of the more powerful ones have restrictions to how they can be used, and some of the weaker ones have increased creative usage. The extent of the power limiting and adjustments needed for them to work with your character can be worked on in the discussion.

Any concerns with this process? (definitions of powers are purposefully withheld at the moment) I will also be posting who has what powers here with definitions once we enter Section 2)

Ah, good call out, Gaius! With this process, by the end of the RP each character will have two powers. One from this process and one that we will workshop together via conversations. So while the first power is random, the second one will be designed by each of you and then signed off on by me.

Welcome to Section 2 of the story!
Your find yourself free falling towards a beautiful, purple-hued planet. But wait. How will you survive impact? Your body aches, there is an odd taste in your mouth. You recall in a flash seeing some sort of platform existing outside of existence, but it is all too much for your mind to take in. A few seconds above the ground, you find innate knowledge of your new abilities has been gifted to you.

Around you, you see the other people falling as well. Will you try to save them with your new abilities? Will you be able to even save yourself?

For this first post of Section 2, we are dropping right into the action. If you have an ability that will not save you in this circumstance, I recommend posting early so that others can try to save you from becoming a pancake. Feel free to message me if you need help. Also, use the environment to your advantage. Trees, flora, fauna. All of them can have unexpected properties. Feel free to make them up and build the world with me as we go!
