So I finally ran Exalted, and it went pretty well.
I had a short prelude type story thought up involving the Roseblack's first contact with the Vermillion Legion, but in light of a) my friend Nick having run a story with the characters in question set ten years earlier and b) the 100 xp they would get for ten years having passed which I didn't want to give them, I opted to set the game in RY758 instead.
I kept the rest of  the story, just tweaked who was giving them orders and why they were going there, on the fly, and pretty well I might add.
My friend Greg pointed out that I often adhered slavishly to what I had written down when I ran D&D in the past, and my adventures usually suffered for it, and I think last night was a serious step in the right direction.
So now I'm running a Dragon-Blooded game set in RY758 (for now) involving the Vermillion Legion and a rebellion in the Lap region.  I guess we'll see where things go!
