Hunters of the Night - We are the Protectors of the night, keeping the rest of humanity safe

The year: 2122. The population of earth: 9 billion. The population of the Otherworld: 600 billion and overflowing. When we die, our souls are sent over to the Otherworld. Asuka slid and upon stopping, brought both the guns up. The moon had gone behind the clouds, making it impossible to see anything. What was that? She completely turned around and brought up the guns, firing twice. The moon showed itself, basking the warehouse in light. The stench of decay was strong in the air, the after effect of a defeated soul. Asuka pushed the call button on her earpiece. "How are you all holding up?"
 
"Alright let's see what have we got here." Mina said as she switched the tab to the thermographic mapping channels that signified the presence of the souls. Sitting behind the multi projector screen in the middle of the night, tracking the damned things deprived her of the pleasure of seeing them with her own eyes. After all, she only had another year to go before she loses the sight. She stretched her neck and sighed as she tweaked the controls in her right arm.


"I'm sensing a few more in the direction you're headed Asuka. Everyone else, standby. This is going to be a rough night."

chrom set floating in the air and boxes floated around him as well as he fought a soul "what does she want us to do die or something I mean come on we can do good to" as he destroyed a soul with the box "well she is the tactician of the group and we do have to listen to insanity" as he started to laugh like a madman "this is no laughing matter arrr she wants us to do nothing right now I do not like that" "HA HA HA your funny waiting orders"
 
Ivy blasted a soul through its chest, making it light up like a bonfire before bursting into nothingness. Her ragged breathing echoed through the silence of the empty path, that wasn't the first soul she had fought tonight, and it wouldn't be the last. She flinched when Asuka's voice buzzed through the earpiece. " Doin' fine, Asuka. I'm right behind you, path 2-B cleared, I'll be joining you in the warehouse ASAP." Holding her pistols up, she hurried her way through the now-empty path, her eyes focused on the entrance of the warehouse that loomed ahead.
 
Asuka looked around. She had followed two here, and one was missing. To make matters worse, more of them were appearing. "Regroup at warehouse 4."
 
"I've patched the maps to your systems. Go crazy." Mina said, moving the mouthpiece away. She got off her workstation and walked into the adjacent room. Turning the lights on, she sighed as she eyed her little sanctuary. The mind of an archivist is never at rest, she thought as she ran her fingers through rows and rows of books and machinery. Some were collections, other were collectibles in action and some were plain beautiful. The dingy cave it was all stored in was aged with mildew and discoloration but her eyes saw nothing but years of hard work.
 
"already going crazy" chrom saw one flying above the warehouse and went after it smashing it with the boxes around him "yeah we got one chrom watch out there's more coming" 4 souls appears right around him "this is going to be more fun than we thought"

Asuka reloaded her guns, and was hit in the back. She was sent flying. She hit the wall of the warehouse with a thud, and fell to the ground."What the hell?" She coughed and tasted blood. Great. Just what was needed. She braced herself on one of the guns and raised the other one. But whatever had attacked her was gone. She felt something slicing into her stomach, and she coughed up blood. She looked up to see another Soul, one that had its hand into her stomach. "Where... are you guys...?" She asked.
 
"I am battling 4 above the warehouse""your girlfriends calling you""shut up you""did I hit a soft spot""no" chrom mashed another soul"now 3"
 
chrom crushed another soul and then flu into the warehouse and took the soul off of Asuka and crashed it into a wall and then got ready for the two that were coming"are you okay""she's OK you know that"
 
"you made her mad what are you going to do now smart guy""you shut it and I am sorry you want me to pick you up" he says as the two souls appeared in the doorway"Hey look it is are two friends that are trying to kill us you have great social skills don't you now""will you be quiet""me be quiet you know that won't happen" "..."
 
I shot the two souls coming after Chrom. "You're welcome" I looked around the town on my roof. "Asuka, there are way too many souls this time. It's literally a huge hoard of them."
 
Chrom picked up Asuka and floated her bicide him"you ready to go Asuka""well I'm ready to go so let's get out of here before we die"
 
"I'll make sure everyone else gets out safely" I started firing towards the hoard of bad souls. This better be worth it.
 
"I got you" Chrom flu out of the warehouse and Saw the big group of souls"wtf wtf wtf where out" and he went back to base as quickly as he could
 
Sirens began sounding making Mina rush back to her work station. Holy crap, the souls are flooding the warehouse.


"I need a 10-4, Chrom? Asuka? Yuki? Anyone!" she yelled placing back her headgear.
 
Chrom turn around and saw the group following him"I'm here but Asuka is out""..." he says as he took Asuka guns and fired into the group"there is a lot of souls on me right now and I'm coming back to base I am killing them off right now but there's too many""..."
 
Asuka awoke, and immediately had to bite her lip to suppress the scream the rose to her lips. Her stomach felt like it was on fire. Her vision was cloudy and wavy, and she felt like she was going to vomit. There's so many of them. "Retreat." Asuka said into her headset, and soon passed out again.
