Fantasy Hunter's Moon: The Sin & Sentence [IC] [CLOSED]

Hudson was about to chastise her more despite Jakob's calls to stop, but suddenly he was struck in the face by Riberta. The force was enough to knock the rifle from his grip and send him spinning to the floor. Fortunately he had his helmet on, yet it still left his head aching and vision blurred as he planted his hands into the sludge to keep himself from falling into it entirely. Once he had enough time to process what had just happened he scrambled to his feet and drew his bastard sword, rolling his wrist around as he flourished his blade and pointed it straight at his assailant.

"And you watch where you put those fucking claws - I'm not going to be bossed around by some hybrid freak like you." he growled, his other hand quickly reaching for his chain before he pulled out the mace, spinning it quite quickly. "You want to go? Let's fucking go if you think you're hard enough." Though he could pick up on Anya losing it and starting to charge at Aliana he didn't care, his back was turned to her and if the lycan decided to tear the elf to shreds he could give a rat's ass.

"H-Holy cow!" Jakob said in shock as Riberta pretty much sat Hudson down with a fist. She quickly handed Aliana's rifle to him, and gave him the responsibility to teach her. He simply nodded. That was his intention to begin with, but he certainly did not want Hudson to be punched like that. However, out of the blue, Anya launched two rusted weapons towards Aliana, and Jakob quickly got in the middle to take the attack from the wild Tsavanian lycan.

As soon as Hudson fell over after being pounded in the face, Loque ran up to him. Not to help him back on his feet like she did with Anya, but just to look at him laying in the sludge.

“Mr. Hudson, I’n starting to think you’re right. We’re all going to fucking die-

And then Anya’s scream shakes the air, and rattles Loque’s head within her helmet. Whatever took her place wasn’t Anya anymore, but some giant hairy thing about to murder Aliana.

Oh, what the fuck now?!” she says, pointing her rifle at Anya.

The ever-present mischievous twinkle in her eyes and constant smirk hardened as Riberta went off on Hudson, knocking the man to the ground. She quietly angled around the side of the party, hand firmly on her sword in case things went further south. Imagine if this was how they fell apart, all over a child. It looked to her that her care for the little elf was well under the eye of her motherly instincts. Had she not know better, she would have suspected she was her daughter from a response like that.

Anya's screaming and sudden transformation from apparent freight, it seemed to her, finally put the humor from her face. Inari finally looked serious for the first time since she came here. The werewolf-lady snatched up two ancient weapons and hurled them with great force in what appeared to be an instinctual attack.

And then Hudson was already up - and challenging Riberta.

Merciful kami what a mess.

"Anya," the kitsune said loudly and carefully, one hand on sword hilt, and the other held out to placate the werewolf. "Take deep breath. Is no danger, is mistake. This no place for passion."

She had to look quickly between Anya and Riberta and Hudson to make sure a fight wasn't finally breaking out. How awful would it be if this trip was cut short now before the real fun began.

The gunshot got Venextos to quickly turn around and look at the ensuing fight about to break out between the group over the accidental misfire. What concerned him more however... was what was about to happen afterwards. This was a bad place to draw attention, even with his not so expansive knowledge of the Abyss he knew this.

"Merde." he muttered before stabbing his staff into the ground to keep watch while he tried to defuse the powder keg that just went off. He clasped his hands together, before moving them around his wrists to summon arcane energies to himself. As they coalesced, he made a fist with one hand and slammed it into his other hands' palm, causing the energies to coalesce into runic rings around his wrists. From there, he twirled his hands again and then extended them outwards to summon forth what appeared to be long strands of cloth made of red and orange energies outwards towards Anya to try to restrain her from attacking the elf.

By the Gods, what the hell is happening? As Senya's thoughts ran across her mind everyone tried to solve the situation with their own solution. Everything was spiraling out of control and someone could die today. Senya unlatched her shield from her back, wielding it on her right hand. She marched towards Aliana and Jakob in an effort to shield them from any harm. It was the only thing she can do right now.

When the magic started to fly from Venextos, Inari felt her sword try to leap from the scabbard. Kioshi, the Thirsting Blade, had been awakened. The spirit was ravenous and once roused, not easy to put back down. Fortunately, she had wielded it for a very long time and knew it as well as it knew her, and she refused to let it unleash itself until it was necessary.

What mattered for now was who she was standing near. Takato wasn't directly involved, but he no doubt harbored great strength, but Gwen was closer and she had a rifle. The Redonian monk was superior in essentially every way, but he was further from her than the elf, and she didn't wish to dive into the crossfire. Hopefully if a fight did start, she wouldn't be standing against the monk. Inari edged closer to Gwen in the mean time, her breathing heavy as she eyed each and every inquiry member.

"You want to go? Let's fucking go if you think you're hard enough."

"I know I'm hard enough, you dumb fuck." she replied, straightening up. "I've killed plenty of you idiots over the years." She then heard Anya's shifting and roars. Aw fuck. She quickly looked to Aliana, whom Jakob had moved to protect. That left a rabid Anya. Riberta didn't want to have to shift, but she would if she had to. If she had to play the part of the Alpha. Meanwhile, Vincent had spun about, and was running back to where they were with his rifle raised. In the event he had to put anyone down.

"My gods, you people are utter imbeciles."

And lo, Xager had appeared. And she had actually spoke this time. "You have an important matter at hand, and now you're trying to kill one another." she said, before holding up her hand. She spoke something in the demon language, which caused a temporary pain in their heads, before their bodies suddenly locked up. As if they were paralyzed.

"W-well... t-this surely is... an experience." Jakob sighed while his eyes followed Xager around. "H-hey, uh... thanks... t-that got out of hand quick."

Venextos was somewhat taken aback by the sudden appearance of Xager and whatever incantation she enacted upon the entire group. It wasn't a pleasant experience to being paralyzed like this, much less being defenseless in this kind of region. "Yes... it did indeed." he said in agreement with Jakob as he used his eyes to look around as much as he could. Hopefully, this would mean that the situation with de-escalate.

"Yeah, then what are you fucking waiting for? Ladies get the first swing, I say. But you're not really a lady are you, you piece of -" Hudson's insults were put on halt as Xager appeared and pulled some kind of cursed magic spawned from an accursed utterance to hold them in place. His limbs locked up and he tried to move them but try as he might, he couldn't. The hunter's wards were not doing him any good against this foul magic, and he grunted and attempted to fight against it with all of his strength.

"Fu-Fucking let. Me. Go!" he cried out, still deliberately staring at Riberta even if he couldn't move his head and had no choice in the matter. "I'll gut those entrails straight out of her! She's probably put half of the lost souls in the Abyss down here personally and now I got the perfect excuse to tear her to fucking bloody pieces!"

"Hudson... chill, you... are not really making a case for ourselves." Jakob eyed Xager again. "L-look I appreciate the help but I think we can move again."

The feeling of being immobilized completely, her body paralyzed by demonic magic, was not a feeling Inari particularly liked. Her sword was growing just as angry as the power it held began to physically vibrate, yet as it was also frozen in place, the energy had no place to go by through her, causing her some pain in her hand and arm.

["Kioshi, silence your tongue, cursed blade, there is nothing to drink here,"] she barked at the sword, her lips able to move but her body rooted in place. She couldn't even look down at it as her head was stuck staring ahead at the others. ["There will be time to drink later. Calm yourself."]

Only by a little did the energetic pulses weaken, but only a little.

Xager's intense eyes glanced to Loque, before looking to Jakob. "No problem." she muttered. She strolled over to where Anya is, before squatting down next to her and giving her a gentle pet on the head. "Please. Calm down." she said, her bright gold eyes locked onto Anya's own yellow ones. Xager didn't...really have a soft voice. It sounded stern. Commanding. Almost angry. A moment later, she stood and walked over to Hudson's paralyzed form. "I know you hate us. I know you hate everyone around you. And I know you hate yourself. Please. Calm yourself. You have a mission to conduct, and the chance to cleanse your soul in the process. Don't you want that?" she spoke, standing directly in front of him and staring into his eyes. "Work with these people. Complete the mission. And you will be free of all the pain and torment inside you."

She then straightened up. "And if you don't, I'll kill you myself." she then said, her intense gaze still leveled on him. She then stepped away, walking back over to where she had appeared before raising her hand again. She spoke once more in her hellish language, and they soon unfroze. "Now. I bring you your week's worth of supplies. Grab what you need from it, and should you need anything else, request it." she then said, before snapping her fingers. Several large crates appeared, some open and some not. A few were marked AMMO, while others were marked FOOD or MEDICAL. There was even one marked MISC. It seemed to have clothing and other tools in it.

Hudson glared at Xager through the slits of his helmet, still twitching and trying to fight the paralyzing sensation before he slowly gave up upon hearing her words. He did want all of that, but he was the last person to admit to a demon speaking reason before him. "I have no doubt you'll kill me. You just want us to do this job of yours and dispose of us when you're done." he muttered. Once they were all released he fell to his knees and back into the sludge, carefully standing himself up as he sheathed his sword and fastened his chains back to himself.

"I'll give them each one chance. One. After that I can't promise I'll be so kind." the hunter said, glancing up to Riberta. "She's already broken hers, the next time it happens I may not feel like listening to reason. So you'll just have to come back here and kill me when I'm through with her."

Loque falls over into the sludge this time and immediately bugs out to her feet while running up to Xager.

Xager! Xager, please, help me! My place isn’t with these people! I don’t belong with this gang of fucking idiots! Take me with you! Please for the love of all the gods take me with you!

Being able to walk again felt good. Jakob let out a sigh of relief as the demon lieutenant let them go. "Hudson, you really need to calm down man. For now at least." He gave Riberta a respectful look before head to the boxes that had been teleported in by the demon soldier. He began to pull out food, medical supplies and some misc. items that he could use later on. But he mainly grabbed food, since he was interested in cooking later on for the group. After that, Jakob looked at everyone and he raised his voice a bit while still trying to sound gentle. "I'll try to help Aliana with her rifle, next time though, please do not scream at her like that, she's a young lady, not a soldier not a wild killer." He gave the young elf a sympathetic smile, trying to show that he was willing to help her, he then eyed Anya, who had shifted out of nowhere. He wanted to help the woman a bit control herself, but for now, he simply let her be.

Seriphine ignored the comments made by the group. Little did they know that she had actually tamed a dragon once. Granted, she had to kill it after it tried to free itself and after eating a third of her warhost but that detail was less important.

As the conversations moved on Seriphine fell silent and continued to watch and observe. She had a renewed interest in Gwen, one of the other elves, as she spoke of s mountain range.

One thing Seriphine noted was that Gwen spoke in an unknown dialect. Perhaps Elf-speak had transformed and changed?

Then there was the comment made by Loque. Elven heritage. Seriphine noted that Gwen was as puzzled as she was. Narrowing her eyes Seriphine thought of the matter further.

Had her descendants strayed from the path? Had the Elven purity been lost to something as simple as lust?

At that time two thoughts dominated her mind. Shame and disgust. A shame of the royals. A shame of the lowborn. A shame of herself. The very thought of beeing bred into extinction was utterly disgusting.

If it was true then Seriphine had no words.

Then, before her train of thought could continue, several things happened. The young elf misfired her weapon. Hudson was punched. Anya charged.

Seriphine looked on with a surprised expression while one of her hands rested on the hilt of one of her blades.

When Xager appeared Seriphine grimaced. Cursed demonspawn.

"Kill the weak. Let the rest of us go on," motioned Seriphine with a sharp tone.

When the curse was lifted Seriphine sighed. As the crates bearing supplies appeared the elf looked at them with suspicion.

Upon being told to calm down by Jakob Hudson slowly turned and stepped toward him. At first he said nothing, simply eyeing the lycan with his hands to his side before he asked him a simple question.

"Then what the fuck is she doing down here?" he growled.

Once they unfroze, those who happened to be looking at Inari might notice her sword push itself nearly an inch or two by itself from her scabbard, followed by her forcing it back down with a grim half-snarl. She didn't spare it another glance as she instead looked over everyone else who were, for the moment, partially calmed to some degree by way of Xager's convenient arrival. She didn't know if the demon had been watching them or if this was truly a moment of great luck.

Hopefully, Anya would be able to get back under control as Hudson miraculously managed to calm himself to some degree. With no apparent fight ready to burst out again, Inari hurried towards one of the crates marked food and tore into it, searching for something... until she found a slab of uncooked meat. She didn't care what it came from as she walked away and put the meat on the ground. She finally drew her sword, and as it left the scabbard, it left a very brief, nearly invisible, black afterimage in the air. Inari stabbed the blade down into the raw meat and in an instant trickles of blood and juice tricked up the gleaming metal, disappearing at random intervals in the metal until all that was left of the meat was a dehydrated length of jerky.

["Your punishment, Kioshi. You know better. Sate yourself on this trash and bide your time. We will have a real meal soon. I promise."]

She sheathed the now quieted sword and turned back to the others, drifting back towards the supplies to look for anything interesting, though still watching the others carefully.

The paralyzing eventually came to a stop as everyone unfroze. Senya fell to her knees, resting her hands on her sword. She went up again, the situation finally deescalated... for now. Thankfully their ally, brought them supplies. She sheathed her sword back into place, placing the shield on her back again.

Jakob looked at Hudson a bit puzzled by his question. But the answer was simple. "Someone who is afflicted by a condition very few can control." he eyed Anya for a moment before looking back at the hunter. "She is just a girl who was made into a creature of the night against her will. There's no need to continue this any further." He gave the man a stern look. "...please Hudson, this is not the time."

Xager looked to Loque, and responded almost immediately after Loque finished talking. "This is a far better place for you. Trust me. You don't want to be put on the front line down south." she responded, before looking to Seriphine nearby. "You're weak. Should I kill you first?" she bluntly responded.

"And because it's hard to control we should just excuse it all, eh? When will there be a 'time' to talk about that?" he replied quite sternly, back turned as Inari 'fed' her sword. Good thing he didn't see that else he would have had another grating comment to throw into the pile. "You fought the same war I did, you know what happens when people like her are thrown against odds they can't cope with seeing, let alone fighting tooth and nail against."

"Once you learn to recognize what a lost cause is things will get much easier on you. On everyone."
