The Ultimate Power source
In the 90s things were a bit more advanced than people thought, its long been said that the governments of the world had access to far more advanced technology than they let the public know. Well in 1993 there was a discovery made that the world never heard a whisper of. Tiny microscopic holes in our universe were found in the bottom of the sea and though it took billions of dollars and almost a year the united states government was able to find a way to contain these portals and bring them up to the surface for study. That said a very wealthy man named Vincent Carpathia was able to get his hands on over a hundred of these portals to put to use in his own experiments.

He took his own dna among others and created several "test tube babies". However these children only remained human for a few seconds after their artificial fertilization. Immediately after the fertilization process the cells of the children were blasted with the portals that Vincent had bought and the result was the alteration of the matter those cells were made of. Rather than being carbon based lifeforms these zygotes would grow into stramge matter based lifeforms, named such after the matter that their cells were converted into a strange new kind of matter not on the periodic table. The result was these children though looking entirely human were a whole lot more.

They were stronger than any human, faster as well, far more durable, with seemingly limitless stamina, they healed faster even had better memories and rates of learning to say nothing of their senses. Yet that was all standard to them, what was unique was the strange reality warping ability each one possessed. No two reality bending abilities were the same and they were as unpredictable as they were powerful. In total 104 of this species of human designated the Homanish were created. However the experiment seemed to end seven years after it began in the year 1999.

The 104th Homanish never woke up, as soon as they completed gestation her power awoke and the whole project came to an end. Number 104 it seemed gained the ability to make portals just like the ones that vincent bought except much much bigger. Her first, and incidentally last, usage of this power created a vortex seventeen miles in diameter that swallowed the entire facility, All the staff, all the Homanish, and much of the surrounding desert. They were all deposited into another dimension, sadly this process was by no means a gentle one amd only the Homanish would possess the toughness and more importantly regeneration to survive.

This other earth never developed Carnivores, and as such the denizens of it were a more peaceful and advanced race as the need for aggression never rose. They raised the Homanish children into well educated and fine adults however they were not the only beings in that universe, The arch enemy of the peaceful reptile people who called earth home were the Turok. They were a race of monsterous aberration created by a virus which mutated any species it contacts into creatures bearing a striking semblance to humanities demon depictions. After nearly 20 years of raising the Homanish the reptilians of the other earth decided to send them back warning that the Turok had become aware of the earth the Homanish came from and would soon be going to invade their world.

Upon arrival in 2020 the Homanish find the world in a poor state already. The earth is divided into many nations, and they are not by any means peaceful with one another. Worse the world seems to be vastly imbalanced. Some have so much food they waste more than they eat, while others went hungry. Enraged and disapointed in humanity many of the Homanish have decided that before they can even dream of saving the earth they must first bring it to heel and establish order. The question is can even over hundred superhumans fix the problems humanity has built for themselves? And can they hope to do so in time for the Turok invasion?

There are currently two kinds of roles available. You can either Be one of the Homanish invaders, or a normal person caught up in this chaos. While only one role lets you have powers, both sides of the coin are important. The Homanish never left the facility for the brief period they were on earth so basically the whole world is new to them. They are very intelligent though and can figure out technology and the function of things pretty easily though.

Humans will basically be trying to either negotiate, destroy, or side with the Homanish and will be rather important to the overall direction the Homanish take in their progression. All kinds of humans are acceptable from bakers to marines, politicians to spies, whatever.

A few notes
1. Homanish powers are classified as reality warping for the sole purpose of being able to explain any ability you want. That said you get one power, it can have multiple applications. But i dont really want to see anyone trying to play god. You cant take control of another's character, you cant have auto hitting attacks or anything like that. Dont just go to power wiki and find the most broken power you can and try to win it all. No powers will be allowed that remove anothers power, weaken it, copy it, or any of those other shennanigans. Be creative but fair. Bear in mind Homanish all possess Super strength, super speed, super durability, heightened senses, enhanced reflexes, regeneration, and enhanced stamina in addition to there One unique signature power.

2. Humans can totally be armed with psudo sci-fi tech. Nothing crazy like a personal teleporters but stuff lets say...10, 20 years more advanced is fine. You want a portable 3d printer and a device that shreds stuff to make the materials for printing go for it. You want a self propelled flight suit or jet pack sure why not. Ill even allow personal lazer weapons and railguns. Just bear in mind this stuff will require either High level government access, vast wealth, or top tier brilliance to be in possession of your character. John the baker probably doesnt have a plasma cannon...at least i hope not.

3. The following powers are claimed by the plot (me). Time manipulation, Max Str/Spd/Def, Matter absorption. If its not on this list and doesnt break entire cities go for it. And dont worry about time manipulation...its not at all what you think.

I’m down for this

Im going to guess time manipulation is less going back in time to retcon and more TimeFreeze/TimeSkip or something. That being said Id be up for a Homanish character.
Power ideas so far are:
Precious Manipulation - Body composed of and ability to manipulate precious stones and metals.
Wonderland - Ability to manipulate local area and population into various fictional versions.
Personal Effect Reversal - Effects have and equal and opposite effect instead (Things that are bad or have negative effects for you are good and have positive effects and vis versa. Pushing is pulling...)

A good guess but nah. My time manipulation is gonna be more like clone making.

Those all sound good besides the effect reversal. That last one is a bit hard to put parameters on so id prefer if that one was not in the rp. But precious manipulation is my favorite.

Yeah wasnt sure how grand the powers are supposed to be so listed several options. Like out of the 3 Precious manipulations is likely the one with most destructive/offensive capabilities.

Yup and destruction and power is fine. Haxxy stuff a little less so. Each Homanish is rughly comparable to an atom bomb in power output. Meaning we on some city buster levels not like omega level mutant levels. Our baseline physical abilities make us pretty powerful already, then you add in the unique powers and bam...a powerful meta

Yeah the high end of precious manipulation was essentially Diamonds from inside the earths mantle or meteors.

Holy crapbaskets. Thats pretty powerful. Wann go to dm's? We can discuss our power applications and interpersonal relationships between Homanish.

I mean sure for power applications, the later will need me to actually right up a character.

Ooooh!

This looks interesting!

I'd be up for both roles, though, do we have an age-range for the homanish?

Homan power ideas:

Fisheye: Perception-warping. Light turns into nightmares, and danger turns into safety. Uncontrollable.

Hush: Allows user to crate absolute silence in a certain area, stilling vibrations in a small area. (Humans go insane in silence, by the way)

Rework: allows the reworking of protons, neutrons, and electrons in a tiny area (think like.... 36 inches cubed).

Human ideas:

Tiny gremlin child who's too smart for their own good, and makes shit out of junk but is completely unable to pay attention to things they don't find interesting. (Age range 14-16)

Billionaire who doesn't want to be a billionaire and doesn't know what the hell to do with the money without causing problems (corrupt companies and such getting more cash to do corrupt company stuff)

Idiot nocturnal drunkard who has a good heart but can't focus when not drunk (dropping subconscious crippling self-doubt)

Momfriend.

I’m interested in this!! I’m thinking a human descendant of one of the original project scientists who’s just trying to find their dad or something... hm.

Now that is just plain brilliant. Not gonna lie didnt even think of that one. They would have been missing for about 2 decades.

Homanish Number one, Jerry Maxwell. Jerry is a peaceful and kind young man who is very well read and intelligent. He is also regarded as one of the stronger Homanish when it comes to combat applications and versatility. Already boasting impressive passive stats jerry in in command of a power called R.G.B. he can generate three separate auras, a red one which maximizes his strength, a blue one that maximizes his speed, and a green one which maximizes his durability. He can only use one aura at a time and can even imbue the other homanish or even humans with the aura's to temporarily give them the power. Homanish only receive 80% of the boost Jerry himself does, and humans only gain 15% of the boost.

Homanish number 23 is Lance Velfree. A curiously relaxed young man who seems to have almost no worries. He possesses the ability to absorb and mimic the properties of any inorganic material. This effectively transforms him into that material and allows him the limited ability to shapeshift into simple alternate forms like a spikey form, a buff form, or a winged form. The more powerful the material the better and this is not restricted to tangible materials he can also become Water, Fire, and even electricity but these are dangerous as he may have issues regaining his normal form.

Finally we have Homanish number 94 Nicolas Regulus. Carefree and fun loving ,Nick more often than not can be found getting into trouble with a giant smile on his face. While he and the other Homanish believe his power is to make copies of himself and of objects this is not exactly accurate. He is actually able to manipulate alternate timelines calling forth alternate versions of himself or the object he makes a copy of. The implications of such an ability seems to indicate that there is more he can do though that will have to wait until he actually learns what his power is. Each active copy drains him of his stamina but he hardly even feels the drain if its less than ten copies.

I'll be getting a cs page up relatively soon but i figured id put what little material i have on my Homanish candidates and give you an example of the random nature and parameters of their powers.

Fish eye wont work if it alters another's perception but you can make illusions out of say holograms and whatnot. Even solid holograms can be worked if you would prefer.

Hush is acceptable and quite interesting the applications and development for an ability like that could make it not just a great stealth based power but it could grow into a great defensive ability as different kinds of vibrational frequencies are added to the list.

Rework is also an interesting ability with wide applications from the gate and i like it. It also has and easy and solid growth pattern just widen the radius as the story progresses.

Gremlin is good idea which I support fully.

Billionaire is a great idea, billionaires possess one of the greatest powers on earth...cash money.

The drunkard could be fun but id like you add something well...great about him. Like perhaps when drunk he is one of the greatest fighters in the world. Able to beat mike Tyson, floyd mayweather, kimbo slice, butterbean, bruce Lee, Conner McGregor, and a beardless chuck norris at once?

Coolio! I'll type up some basic charrie sheets for them, so you can get a read on them ^^

Okay, Cobalt's ref is a bit blank, but I need a good read on how this world works to fill in skills and such.
