Like with Hisaya being healed. James would arrive, all flustered and annoyed again, with the ready information memorized in his head, but a dragon goes back to the Sea King's shrine just to get his things to make sure. The spell circle is huge. The dragons would clear a space, and James would make it with his wand wishing Lydia was here to make this together with him too, the fruit of their labors finally coming to light. It'd feel odd and even wrong for Lydia to miss this, and he'd miss her as he went about making the spell circle with Johnny. It just wasn't the same without her.

And then Mizutsune casts the spell the next day because it took the two that long to check and recheck, and recheck again to see if they got the spell circle entirely right. And then I'm going to roll for Dispel.

James + Lydia success = ( 5 + 2) = (1-6 success)

And then Chenglei's the only one who gets a good look at the prophecy. And then James and Johnny and Serena talk to Historia some more and the newly cured Hisaya where something happens and the philosopher's stone crumbles and James does this soul magic spell called Spirit Garde, which he hasn't done like this before, to catch Hisaya's soul that has no place to go and keeps it in his soul, which feels weird, but Hisaya's there and he's normal, but still with amnesia. But the magic was too much and James passes out only to regain consciousness on the third day.
