Fantasy Howl's Flying Castle - OOC

How have you kept an RP going for so long with only three people?
On my end, Katsuya and Roleplay Skittle are awesome to write and act with. Our character relationships are always something I look forward to in roleplaying. Like, it's been seven months but the character interactions aren't stale. The dice combat is also nice and I really like it that the group is travelling so we are exposed to different landscapes and cultures. Plus Katsuya and Skittle are funny.


 
Urazek Urazek , they are funny in-character and here in OOC. Like, I'm just reading their posts and I usually always chuckle or smile at least once a day.
 
Zer0 Zer0 is pretty awesome too! To come up with the situations our characters go through and the writing is uber easy for me to understand and picture without issue! I really love the interactions of all of our characters and the stuff they go through! It's like a dream! ^W^

The GM (which is Zer0) has this website that rolls the dice for her. depending on the skill we are using and how much of that skill our character(s) have, will determine the fate of our characters and the story.

How do the dice battles work?
I roll one ten-sided dice (1d10) every time your character attacks. And depending on what skill he used the attack succeeds if the roll falls within his success range. You see in our CS that in the spell and skill descriptors there's words like: one-handed, conjuration. Or the skills are arranged under titles like: unarmed combat. For every other skill you have that falls under the same category ---- let us assume you have 3 skills under unarmed combat, your success range increases by +3.

Everyone has a default success of 1-2, having 3 unarmed combat skills makes that success rate 1-5. So if the roll falls between 1-5 attack succeeds.

When I get home I'll show you the complete list of ability categories you can assign Aodh's skills to.
 
That's actually really cool. If we tried that with the RP I was in before, we would probably have to wait forever for whoever is in charge of rolling to get around to doing it, depending on who we would put in charge.

You guys had no permanent GM?
 
No, the way it worked was it was just a universe with sub RPs that anyone can create if they want. Anyone can join those RPs and it is just free for all in a way
 
No, there's a thing that alarms you on your phone on the website. You just have to check on the box in the settings part...I think...
 
Urazek Urazek , here's the list of ability categories. Please pick one for each of Aodh's abilities and paste the name in the ability descriptor.

Magical Attacks:
*can also be used to pursue a target.
  1. Alteration = changing yourself, or your opponent temporarily. Living things only
  2. Conjuration = bringing things to the caster from somewhere such as summoning.
  3. Destruction
  4. Enchanting = changing an item temporarily. Non-living things only.
  5. Magic Bombs
Physical Attacks:
*can also be used to pursue a target.
  1. Two-handed
  2. One-handed = includes throwing weapons
  3. Archery
  4. Guns
  5. Unarmed Combat
  6. Siege weapons
Defense:
*can be a spell or physical prowess, or because of an item. Can also be used to escape.
  1. Physical Defense = evasion and toughness against all physical attacks.
  2. Magical Defense = evasion and toughness against all magical attacks
Healing:
*can be magical or traditional medicine.
  1. Restoration = healing wounds and creating medicine.
  2. Dispel = removing curses and enchantments.
Misc:
*can be magical.
  1. Perception = seeing hidden things, navigation, awareness of one's surroundings, forensics, finding something through research.
  2. Sneak = includes disguises.
  3. Speech = includes acting, charisma, diplomacy, and trade.
  4. Steal = includes lockpicking and pick pocketing
  5. Engineering = includes smithing, operating, and disabling devices such as traps, driving, piloting, and sailing.
