I have a few. I'm guessing Seth is the one who sent that, right? The golem stone. Why not have Seth and his crew find the traitor as their top goal while they separate. Not only stay in hiding but also gathering info on where the traitor might be. James can run around in circles, following whatever lead he gets while that's happening, maybe have him almost catch someone from Seth's crew in another place.

While Seth gets a piece of info about the traitor and stuff happens. XD
