Realistic or Modern Howl

Callisto became very confused at the thunk that was coming from the door. How could anyone be out here already? She out it off as some kind of bird or something. Then the noise happened again. She fully turned around to face the door and looked at it oddly. She looked back at the passengers to get confirmation that they were hearing the same thing as her.

They were all shooting her looks as if she was making all the noise. "Hey, it isn't me. Someone else is out there making all that racket." She stated so everyone could hear. Callisto turned around to face the door again. "I wonder if I could try to open it again." She said to herself. Once again, she attempted to open the door, pulling with all her strength.

The door shuddered slightly, but wouldn't budge. If Callistos' plan was to force the door open, it would take much more strength then just hers alone. The door handle would suddenly begin to jiggle, as if someone were trying to open the door from the outside. This would last for several seconds, until the loud banging against the door would start up again.

Callisto couldn't get the door to open so she took a step back from it. She saw the door handle jiggle. There must be a person out there she thought. The jiggling stopped and she stopped and listened. The banging started up again, startling her.

Callisto turned to the other passengers. "I think someone is out there!" She stated. Sh reached for the door again. "Can a few people come give me a hand?" She asked. Callisto began to pull at the door again, hoping others would help her.

"hmm, strange." she thought to herself. She watched the train attendant walk down the hallway. She put down her book on the empty seat next to her, opting to follow him to wherever he was being called to.

The carriage itself was lit up beautifully in contrast to the darkness outside. Much of the interor was a golden red, similar to the colour of the sunset, with splashes of polished wood for the seats. The light wasn't particularly bright, a dull yellow at best, but besides in the ceiling, there were lights along the floor of the halls and at the ends of the seats, and it gave off a sort of comfort.

Passing a carriage or two, the train began to grow quiet, a more relaxing atmosphere that she wished she could have enjoyed on this delightful train ride, rather than being stuck in the carriage with all those foreigners that made such a ruckus out of their confusion. This was temporary...right? She hoped it was. It wouldn't be the strangest thing if they were going to be stuck here for the night, but it would be comforting to at least know why. Maybe the signals were malfunctioning, or the tracks were frozen over, or too much snow had fallen and piled up somewhere ahead. Maybe even an electrical fire. That might be the worst situation she could think of, especially if the train were to blow a fuse soon as a result. Then the situation could get out of control-especially with the lack of staff on board and their young age.

She watched from behind the bridge that connected two separate carriages. He seemed agitated at the least. It could be bad.

The people seated farther away from her looked over skeptically, offering no more then questioning glances, no one moved a muscle. There was a middle aged man sitting directly to the side of the door, who was the first to get up, giving her a nod as he brushed past her. Rolling up his sleeves and gripping the door handle, he grit his teeth, his knuckles turning white as he began pulling with all his might. After a couple tries, sweat glistened on his balding head, droplets dripping down his forehead and getting in his eyes. "Dammit!" he scowled, wiping his eyes with the sleeve of his denim jacket. "It wont budge." he panted, grabbing onto a pole for support. "But there's a keyhole, so I can only assume that one of the attendants has a key, either that or they can open it up electronically from up front."

Taking a moment to catch his breath, he walked over to the door once more, squinting into the blackness just on the other side of the door. "I can't see a thing, whoever was out there must have-" suddenly a pale hand slapped against the glass, blood oozed from where the thumb and forefinger should have been. The middle aged man reared back in fright, tripping over his own feet, his head colliding with the ground with a sickening crack. The hand clawed at the glass, then slowly drifted downwards, smearing blood across the windows surface. Then it disappeared completely. More blood pooled at Callisto's feet, oozing its way into the crevices of the soles of her shoes. The middle aged man gurgled up more blood, his entire body convulsing on the floor, before going completely still.

Callisto watched in horror as this hand slid down the window. It left blood all over the window as it went down. Callisto just stood petrified at the occurrence. Blood began to surround her feet and get ik her shoes. She jumped up a step in fright.

Callisto looked down at the convulsing man. When he started spitting up blood, she began to breathe heavily. Her heart was racing like a rabbits. When the man stopped moving, there was silence for a moment. Then Callisto let out a horrified scream that pierced the air. She fell down and scooted away from the man and the blood. "Someone go get help!" She screamed.

Is that a scream? Pallas turned around in the direction of the scream. She hurried over, a sense of dread building up in her heart each second she jogged through each carriage. She reached the one where she heard it. She saw a heavily tattooed woman shaking, her head hung low.

Her eyes drifted down to the body at her feet. The blood around him kept expanding, a glistening crimson lake.

"oh my god..." she raised a hand to her mouth, her eyes twitched, and she took a step back. Her eyes kept drifting towards the girl and the body. What the hell is happening on this train?

"t-the train attendant. I think he went that way." Pallas muttered out, looking behind her. She took one last look at the woman and ran back to go find him.

Billy

Billy whirled around as he heard screaming coming from the car behind them, without hesitation he made his way towards the sound, arriving at the scene just a few seconds after Pallas. His eyes widened in horror, bile rising in his throat, clutching his neck with one hand as if to keep himself from throwing up. "Dear god, I-I think h-he's having a stroke." he managed to sputter, looking away as the body began to writhe on the floor. The mans clothes were soaked in his own blood, his breathing strained and erratic, a sickening wheezing sound came from the depths of his throat. At the sight of this, many of the passengers watching did vomit, soiling their shoes and clothes, the contents of their stomachs also dripping down onto the trains once emaculate seats.

"S-someone do something!" a random person cried out, although the speaker made no move to step forward himself. Everyone just seemed to be watching, this mans life hung in the balance, and that's when Billy realized that almost everyone was staring at him.

"The hell are you doing man! Your the train attendant help him!"

"Do something!"

"Don't just stand their, didn't they prepare you for situations like this."

"The fuck do you think I am!" Billy snapped, glaring at everyone in his immediate vicinity. "Do I look like a fucking medic, do you think I was prepared for situations like this! I don't know what to do! So don't fucking give me those looks. If he dies, his death is on ALL our hands. All of us!" his eyes softened as he looked back down at the man, still twitching on the floor, "I can't get any closer to him, the blood...its too much, I just can't." he muttered, his voice trailing off, his eyes transfixed on the dying man. @Azuria @Pink Gorilla

Callisto looked between the train attendant and the dying man. When no one came to his aid, she took a deep breath. She swallowed her fear and stood back up on her feet. Callisto quickly tiptoed over to the man, hoping the hand wouldn't show up again.

She bent down to get closer to the mans body. She gagged as she smelled the blood. Callisto raised a hand to her mouth and then put both her hands under his shoulders. She began to drag him away from the door. "Don't everyone help at once." She muttered.

What the hell had just happened? A moment ago she lay half asleep staring out the window of the train, and now she was a few feet from a dead man.

She was certain that the man was killed. The train attendant was certainly misguided. She knew people didn't bleed from strokes. No, he was definitely wounded, but was it by someone on the train? She looked around, but spotting a potential killer wasn't so simple. Everyone had just as much fear and horror in their eyes as Pallas did. So then what had happened? The train attendant was focused on his breathing...his breathing. He kept coughing up blood and couldn't talk. Her eyes desperately looked toward his neck, searching for any indication of a stab wound, a cut, anything. Perhaps at the base of his neck, around the collarbone. After all, his clothes are completely soaked in his own blood, so perhaps it's hidden just below the collar.

"Take off his shirt. You have to stop the bleeding." She looked towards Callisto, chewing her lip slightly. When she used to get gashes playing in the woods, her mother would wrap gauze around her leg to prevent the bleeding. She always tied a bandanna around her thigh and then applied alcohol to the location. It burned terribly, making her eyes water each time. Her friend had it worse, once her forearm was torn open by a tree branch, and their mothers had her bite down on a rag. Her mum tied a cloth around the base of her forearm so tightly that the skin around it began to turn dark red, and Pallas' mother had gotten a sewing needle. It only lasted about 10 minutes, but it felt a lot longer, and the tears never stopped. Her heart felt so heavy, it was difficult to breathe. By the end, the wound was closed up and wrapped under some gauze, followed by an hour ride to the hospital to have it checked on.

"I think his neck has a gash on it. Tie a clean shirt, cloth, rag anything around it. But fast!" She jogged over to help her, ignoring the slight twitch in her right eye.

Callisto followed the woman's instructions. She took off his shirt and placed it beside her. Callisto used some napkins that she found to clean some of the blood. She tried to use them as to tie around his neck, but it didn't work.

"Fuck it." She said and took off her jacket. She then proceeded to take off her shirt and place it around the man's neck. "He isn't breathing." She stated and looked at the girl. @Azuria

Billy

The most Billy could do was watch, as the two women desperately tried to attend to the mans needs. For him everything seemed be moving in slow motion, his mind was the only thing that seemed to be racing. A myriad of thoughts bombarded his brain, some more pleasant then others, although ultimately none of them proved useful for the situation he was currently in. If he dies will I be held responsible? How the hell did this happen? I can't survive in prison! This won't affect me getting into college...will it?!?!

He remained rooted to the spot, feeling as if his sanity were slowly unravelling. His eyes passed over each of the passengers faces, their looks of fear doing little to console his own growing anxiety. It was then that his eye caught sight of crimson liquid, dripping from the edge of the seat just above the dying mans head.

"Looks like he hit his head on the edge of that seat when he fell..." he managed to say, the fear in his eyes slowly replaced with one of suspicion. "...that is, if he did fall."

"Well, do you have a first aid kit that we can properly bandage him up? We can't just leave him out like this." Callisto stated. "Also, who the fuck is outside? Whoever they are, they are severely hurt as well. I couldn't get the door open. Is there some kind of key?" She asked.

Callisto began to get chilly without her jacket, but obviously she had more pressing issues to attend with. "Well, are you gonna do something or just stand there? You're the attendant, do something!" She demanded. She looked around for something that could be useful, but nothing she saw was useful. @BloodyKharma
