How much experience do you have with exalted?

I am curious how much experience people have with exalted.

Years or months running stories?

Years or months Playing characters?

I personally am only a bookish exalted person so far, an arm chair Exalted player if you will since i have yet to play or run any games and everythign i have done up until now has been pure thought and reading no actual playing time.

Personally I've played it for about 3 1/2 years. I've only run 2 games, and 2 other failures of games. So as I player I would say I'm more experienced than some.

I would recomend if you want to start playing maybe getting into Online stuff, like Lands of Moirae or perhaps a forum based game. I think they're kinda lame, but I can see how others would like them.

I've been around since...umm...early 2002.  So, about three years for me.

I've run about fifteen games.  One lasted for almost two years, the others were all just nice little excursions, most lasted for about two months.  That two-year game was loads of fun.

As for actually playing in games...well, let's see...eight games that I can think of at the moment.

And, yeah, in case you're wondering, we like to run multiple games at the same time.  Usually playing one on Friday night and the other Saturday morning/afternoon.  It's a real nice distraction from reality.

Are you eXperienced?

I've been playing exalted since... at least the april of 2003. I've been in a few games, all of them online. The first game I'm in is STILL on-going... yes... once a week, every week... we're there... we chew bubblegum and much kick ass when we're out of gum. ^_^

Then there was joseph's Alchemical game. And a short interlude where I was a ST after that particular game got called off. That particular adventure got started on Feburary 2004 and got killed in May this year for... reasons I won't go into...

Of course, the long game that I'm still in did get a short break with another player taking the helm with... mixed... reactions to how he handled the gameplay.

And now, I'm also devoting my sundays to another game run by another friend of mine.

And, by the by... the games I'm in, wasin and ran are not 'combat' duels or what have you... they happen to use an online chat system (MuD and IRC) due to the fact that the players and ST are all seperated by vast distances. They do however seem to behave in much the manner a traditional table top game would go.

Since about two weeks after the corebook hit the shelves. Got the group I play Vampire with into it. Okay, so I couldn't convince them to actually commit to a game for a couple of months, but about that time frame.

Let's see... I think it was Summer-Autumn of 2001, correct? So, 3 and 2/3 years or something

That reminds me. Did we ever hear anything more about the Solar in the opening fiction of the corebook?

personally I started a couple of months after the core books came out as a player

then we had a break for  while when that game ended i had a couple of fairly unsuccessful attempts to get a siddy game going with me running it

couple of months ago i organised someone to run a soolar game and a group to play it and it's going really really well.  we seemed ot have settled down nicely into a nice stable group of 4 solars (missing the night caste) and 2 Lunars, picking up and losing a night caste solar and a lookshy dragon blood as people joined and left the game or changed their characters due to not enjoying them. but it's a great game that everyone is enjoying playing in.

I've been playing for 3 years or so, mostly as a Storyteller.

As to the number of games, I've run about 5 separate ones. I tend to like long-running plots, because they allow characters to develop a history, personal dynamic, and depth that short games do not. Unfortunately most of my players don't seem to have the stamina for that kind of thing, and they tend to get tired of their characters after a few months.

Previous to Exalted, I was heavily into Earthdawn. I find that Exalted shares a lot of similarities to Earthdawn, but is also in many ways a superior game. I ran a continuous Earthdawn game for about 3 years,  every weekend.

Hmmmm...

Initially shortly after the Exalted Corebook came out, a friend tried running a game for a couple of us.... went on for a few months alternating with some of my World of Darkness games or D20 games...then paused for almost a year before I started running games with a different group after buying more books and getting a better feel for it...and have been running off and on ever since... I've had a harder time with getting someone to ST it for me and let me just play...usually such games have only lasted a few sessions, then back to me running... *shrugs* Ah well, I'm used to such by now.

I started running Exalted within a few months of it coming out. Ran the game consistently for about 2 years and than sporadically played or ran afterwards.

Still suck at manipulating Charms effectively.

Think I've played Exalted for about four years now, though I'm not really sure about the date. I remember watching for the game before it came out. I have mostly been running games - five with the two I'm currently running, but have played in two chronicles. Unfortunately both people to play with and time has been scarce, so I haven't played as much as I would like to.

None. I own the core rulebook, dragon-blooded, sidereal, abyssals, player's guide, savant and sorcerer, scavenger sons, and kingdom of halta; but I have not yet had the opprotunity to play.

i've been with it since a month or 2 since it hit the shelves... first as a player and then as a storyteller.  I ST a game every semester, although my best game ended with summer break.  I'd say 3-4 years.

I´ve been playing since middle 2001. I´ve been STing most of the time, but I played at a couple of campaigns during the last two years.

I've run games since Exalted came out. My local gaming groups are very flaky so they don't tend to last very long. I got to play once, and just as the story was getting interesting, the ST wanted to quit. It's been rough, but I have as complete a collection as they get.

I just got talking with a new group of players, and I'll actually get a chance to play the game now!

:?

But what do I play now? I have so many ideas, I can't decide!

Go solar... be true to yourself... and remember... you're in there to have fun. Now go forth and get 'The Win'...

Arianna and Mnemon will explain and give you some pointers in the starting stages of how to get to 'The Win'.

And don't forget, by the time you hit 100 XP as a solar or abyssal, you should have had a few perfect effect charms and custom charms as well... possibly even both combined... This will help you get 'The Win' ^_-

You wanna be a solar puppet of the Siderals, with a tame Lunar and a pet Dragonblooded? Drinking Solar Soylen Green with your water? I don't know... that don't sound too good to me. ^_-

Well, the original concept was that I and another player would be a pair of Demon hunters. One of us would be a Sidereal the other a Solar. With this book coming out, it gave us even more background. As far as the Sidereal lie goes, well it'll make an interesting conversation when that information leaks.

Well...It would be interesting t see the interplay when the truth comes out. Just remember, those presence, performance and social charms are your friends in getting your way in any social context. ^_^

I'm fond of the Sidereals myself and not so much where it concerns the Solars. I was thinking of getting the book. Any opinions on it?

been playing the game since it came out.

Mostly playing online. Since I moved a few times in the past 2 years never been able to start a table-top game

Right now I got settled back in my home land and got a group slowly setting up.

Setting will be the wild wild west aka the ocean :D Lintha action!! got 2 ideas running in my head...

Young 17 year old Night caste as a sailor on a boat or a Zenith sailor who is acting as a preacher on a boat.

Still not sure wich one :P but yeah, it will be great to get back in a table top game :)

Sadly, this little fireball has only been in a few games, all online, and ran one comic-relief game(Partly because I'm a shitty storyteller.). I'd just like to play in a game in real life..there's nothing like rolling my own dice with my own hands, rather than clicking a button. Ahh..the glory of rolling all ten of my d10's..

Anyway. I got into the game a few months after it came out, but could never convince my damned group ST to do a game for me-he was too into the horror theme to try an adventure one.

Plus; I secretly think he's a furry and won't let us play anything where we couldn't possibly run into Lycanthropes for him to toy around with. (He didn't know about Lunars and refused to listen..)

But..this shall all change very soon, won't it, Stillykins? Ufufufufu..Finally..I shall be in a game in real time..my exalted dice..shall come out of their cinnamon gum container..smelling sweet and ready to bring my name to glory!

Scarlet Empress beware..a new Queen of creation shall arise.
