» Answer Time!
Asa was busy enjoying the food that was provided to him when the television whirred to the response screen. Normally an interruption during a meal, other than checking in, was taboo to him so it felt like he was rudely interrupted. That is, until he realized he could see the responses everyone had. Admittedly he was curious to see some of the responses to the general question.
From the initial look over it seemed that not only was he picked once, by Ryou, but also by Nobu, the shy looking male who sat next to Ryou. Asa felt an immense sense of joy and pride to be picked by the person he had chosen and enjoyed spending time with but also someone he had yet to formally meet. Finally looking past the names in the answers, Asa couldn't help but chuckle lightly and shooting Ryou a small smile and playful head shake after reading Ryou's reason for picking him. “With our luck so far it would still be at least heavily delayed.” It was nice to know that Ryou wasn't just being nice and genuinely wanted to talk about food. Nobu's reason was also warming to read and Asa looked to the male with a gentle smile and slight nod. “You are correct, I would not mind. And I would indeed do my best to let you rest but be fairly warned that I will get you your meal.” After seeing who had chosen him, Asa realized that Ryou was chosen two more times in addition to his own choice. Once by Vivian, which was hilarious to read having seen their previous encounter, and the other by Eiji who... apparently took the opportunity to hit on Ryou via... This was completely cringe and Asa did not know how to react. Was it discomforting? Yes. Was it his business to know? No. The best thing to do was- Moving on! Get to the next questions and miss the pleasant surprise Ryou displayed. It was probably for the best.
For the second set of question and answers, Asa made sure to read the entire set before making conclusions. This was fairly simple as the television scrolled down to reveal one set at a time. First was Ryou and Asa was completely confused. From the question it sounded like Ryou had done something drastic that cost him greatly. That was concerning because the male didn't seem to deserve such an event from what Asa has seen. For whatever reason, most likely his innocent outlook, he couldn't fathom a reason on his own. Though Ryou didn't seam to be phased by the question as he was reading much faster than Asa, having already made a comment to him. Ryou's voice was softer than earlier but still grabbed Asa's attention instantly. He grinned and casually responded, “I would be honored to do so.” Not thinking about how he sounded. Asa intended to sound inviting and excited before turning back to check the answers again. Eiji's answer was a good one since the fat in the meat complemented the fat in the cheese. Asa turned and flashed the male a thumbs up. Macallan's set was heart wrenching and made Asa feel remorse for the woman. He looked over at her and she was sitting angrily in her seat. With an attempt to try to get her attention he waved his hand in front of her since he was sitting directly across from her. He had no words in mind that would help convey his sorrow but held a hang against his heart and opened it toward her, hoping she understood the intention. Taking a moment to himself, he looked back at the screen. Tina's set was funny and she seemed to have given it real thought. He turned to her to thank her for her consideration and seriousness. “No need to worry, I'm sure you and your group would find a way to survive together. I know I would try my best if I was I stuck in that situation.” Nobu's set was entertaining and relatable. Asa would have answered similarly because he enjoys sweets. Asa gave Nobu the same thumbs up he had given Eiji earlier. Yuuki's set was sad to read. To have to worry about people invading your personal space was not something Asa envied. He had heard about idols having crazy fans but to see that there was truth to it was upsetting. He looked at the girl with sad eyes, feeling bad that she had to go through the experience. But that did not prepare him for the last set, Vivian's. Asa could feel his heart drop in his chest as he looked at the woman beside him. She was clearly upset and Ryou had offered her his words of comfort. Asa hesitated but decided to simply lay his hand on hers and give it a squeeze. Words were not going to help and he knew it.
While trying to comfort Vivian, Ryou grabbed Asa's attention again as he stood from the table and spoke. Asa was frozen as he watched Ryou with wide eyed panic as he left the room. Something was certainly wrong and with the already worrisome responses Asa had read, he only hoped it didn't upset Ryou greatly. He hesitated, not knowing if it was appropriate for him to follow the man or if he should give him space. After giving Ryou a few minutes alone, Asa gave Vivian a reassuring look before standing and bowing to the table. “I will check on him and bring him back. Enjoy your meals and please excuse me.”
With a swift movement Asa pushed his chair inside and followed Ryou's footsteps to the outdoors where he found the man smoking. He stepped through the door, closing it behind him as he carefully approached the other. He had gotten this far without really thinking about what to say. “Uh...” He cleared his throat from the nerves as he looked out at the backyard. Asking if the man was okay was a silly question, he clearly was not. Asa went with the next best thing. “Can I help at all?” Normally when Asa feels down he would vent to his fish. They were not here and Ryou probably wouldn't want to talk to them. So he thought he would be the next best thing since they had picked each other to be flying buddies after all.
