Hotel Timor
(t. the hotel of dread)
"you can check in when you like, but you can never leave"
Everyone needs to have a break. Everyone needs to get away. But not everyone is running.
Most of the guests and residents at Hotel Timor are either running or hiding, and you better not ask which. The hotel is situated on a remote road in the South of Oregon, at least 8 miles from any other civilization and just on the outskirts of a deep forest. If you want to fade into the background, the Timor is the best place to do it. They don't accept credit cards, and there's no free wifi. If you're staying at this hotel, it's because you don't want to be found.
The Hotel was built in 1891, and was originally a manor hose for the great Duke Magnus Muller, a German man who had come to America alone, and, like most people who stay at the hotel, had a big secret. He was a serial killer. Having killed his own wife and two sons, Magnus fled Germany with all of his wealth, and put all of his money into the manner. His taste for blood became deeper and he would lure carriages away from the main road and slaughter their riders. It wasn't long before he was caught, and the house was empty for years, save for the ghosts of his victims.
In 1909, the Hotel became a house for the mentally inflicted. As imagined, many patients died due to cruel treatments and violence, but one case of suicide there is the most notable. A girl named Martha Roebuck was found in her room with her throat slit, her window broken and a shard of glass lay in her hand, smeared with her own blood. Sh
e left no reason behind and according to her notes, she had been getting better. Many believe her death to be a murder. Some think she had fallen in love with a doctor there and had become pregnant, but once he found out, he had killed her. The only truth that remains is that her room, now room 14, always has a breeze flowing through it.
Once the hospital was closed down in 1958, the house was empty again for years, until 1961, when it was reopened by Flanagan O'Regan, a man of Irish decent. He was young, and he had been forced to sell his farm. With a wife and no money to provide, he had the bright idea of opening a hotel. And so the Hotel was named, the Hotel Timor. For years, it has been home to people who have no where else to go and it has been the pit stop of many innocent by passers. But in recent times, it has become a hell hole of drug takers, alleged murderers, loners and such. This is because of the new management, Flanagan's daughter, Mara. Mara is not exactly thrilled that she has to take over her Father's business, and so her ways are less than safe. She lets anyone stay in the hotel, and has, over her brief period of management, let the place crumble slightly. But she isn't all bad, and if you need a whiskey, the first rounds on her.
In the past two months, a series of murders have been committed by a person known only as The Silent Killer. The victims, which have only one thing in common, their female gender, are always found on their beds, 'sleeping' next to their significant others with their throats slit. And now, with a shifty new resident at the hotel, will you take it into your own hands to find the truth? Or will you join the murderer.
This roleplay will revolve around at least six characters who are either permanent residents of the hotel; ghosts, murderers, employees and other supernatural entities, or guests, who plan on staying for a while and have been living at the hotel for at least a week. It is semi-detailed, and I expect at least two paragraphs per post. There is a limit of one character each for now. This is not first come first serve, but you can reserve a position so i can put your cs as a priority. This is a low-fantasy rp, and will be mostly realistic. For now, I would like only Residents to be supernatural. If you would like your character to be supernatural, please stick to creatures with limited abilities, such as ghosts, psychics, vampires, ect. If you're unsure on a creature, don't hesitate to ask.
