Homestuck: Another Session

This is how the sever/client player thing works.


To start the game session, a server player connects with a client player that they are hosting. The game usually cannot be played by one person alone, and even then, two-player sessions are rare. The players form a ring of server-to-client connections so that everyone is acting as both a server player and a client player. The server player is responsible for getting the client player into the Medium before they get annihilated by meteors.


The server player acts as a manipulator of the client player's environment. They deploy devices for the client player to use, assist the client player in entering the Medium, and manipulate the client player's surroundings by building things or moving furniture around or things like that. The server player's main purpose is to assist the client player in reaching the first gate, which is usually located in a hard-to-reach area, such as several hundred feet above in the air.


This is where it gets a tad confusing. Each successive gate leads to a designated place. The first gate leads to a determined location on the surface of the client player's planet. The second gate leads to the house (or hive) of the SERVER player, and the gate from there leads to a place on the server player's planet, etc, and the players progress through the planets like that. There are seven gates in all, and once the last one is entered, the player enters a "boss fight" against the denizen of their own planet. Skipping gates is not recommended, as it can leave you underleveled and unprepared for the tougher enemies that you will likely face.


Once the denizens have all been defeated, the players fight the black king as the final boss, claim the prize, etc. etc.

Just wondering, I've been sorta doing 3rd person all this time and I'm curious if you'd prefer I'd stick with the HS-style 1st person [or am I fine just RPing normal-style]. I've been kinda iffy, throwing in some HS quirks in past replies such as caps on HS topical objects but I keep swaying back to traditional 3rd person descript replies. Is it fine if I just stick with that? I guess I don't have as much personality in my replies as the usual demands, hahaha.

It's fine if you write in 3rd person that's what I've been doing. And I saw that Cresten started trolling my character so is it still possible to reply to that? I wasn't on earlier to do it sorry. ^^;
 
Go ahead, he was going to have her convince Corazo to join Sgrub [tad late for that] but hey, they haven't had conversation yet! 
Oh, and one more thing. How we s'post to include Jack in the Kid's session loop? Since we already closed the circle and all.
 
Perhaps he could do a human version of a solo session, like the kind that Caliborn did.
 
So, who is the main badguy in this whole rp anyway? Speaking of that who's the villian of the first villian arc (which is the one after the HIVESTUCK and ENTERING SESSION arcs)?

It's fine. ^_^ It's been happening to a few of you guys maybe we should each tag the person we're talking to so they know for sure.
 
Okay, two things. One, I'd just like to post how the server-client connections are appearing to be playing out. I can edit this as I learn more; I don't quite know as much about Team Prospit as I do Team Derse, but that doesn't even really matter anyways. You'll see why in a bit here. (x --> y) means x is server to y.


Team Derse

Team Prospit

The second thing is this: just like in the canon, they won't be forming two teams as was planned. When they go to connect to their supposed clients, Roslow and Cerico will discover that their client players have actually changed, and are now members of the other team.


As illustrated by the color of the "???"s, Cerico will end up as the server for Terain and Roslow will server for Frioto. Frioto, of course, will enter last so spare everyone from a painful death by Vast Glub.

I thought the order was Corazo was serving Terain. So can it be switched so Cerico serves Corazo? If you prefer it this way though it's fine.
 
Yeah, we can do that. I'll fix it. Cerico being the server for Corazo...hehe...this will be interesting.
 
Now it seems since pretty much everyone who joined the rp has left and is doing something else (though i don't blame them!), I declare the rp..... Comatose.

I sort of spontaneously left RPNation when but of my RP's died


and I didn't feel like logging on for only one (not really) active one -- Plus I RP on DA way more now.


If it causes plot issues, I'm sorry. I actually intended for Cresten to be the first to die though from the beginning cause I knew not a lot of people would be willing to have their OC's totally killed. Just... invent a story for his death or something (*screams 'murder!'*) Gosh, I was so excited to kill him dramatically too. *shakes head*


I dunno what you can do with my kid though... Sorry.
 
I was mostly just wondering where some of the people here went. Not everyone's troll has even entered the medium yet! >_< So do you want to still be in? It's up to you. 
@Party Poison @PunkKat1 @Chantala @explosiveKitten @The Villain King @Shade Umbreon would you guys be more active during the summer? I was thinking of making a "Act 2" and continue the more major parts of the story there. I'll start it around late next month and maybe let some new people join if there's slots open. Would you guys be ok with that?
 
Heck yes! I've gotten all of my trolls into the Medium. I am SO ready to kick this session into top gear, I can't wait! Plus the introduction of more characters, perhaps we might even get a glimpse of the villain...? > :P I'd be more than happy to play the role of the villain if you need someone to do it.
 
Well, since everyone has kind of disappeared.. I don't want it to die, so, whatever will keep it living.
