Fandom Hogwarts: A new generation

formerlyAbrogated

Elder Member
A casual roleplay which takes place 20 years after Voldemort's defeat. A new age of prosperity for the wizarding world has begun, but a new evil seems to border on the horizon. The battle between light and darkness is destined to begin once more.

Chris sat solemnly in the rather comfy-looking carriage in the scarlet train bound to Hogwarts, thinking deeply. Neurotically, he shifted from underneath the trunk lying in the metal tray above him. He considered pacing around, but considering the small quarters and the motion of the train, he thought against it. He still couldn't really wrap his head around it all. He was going on a train to a magical school, where he would learn, well.. magic Chris thought, berating himself for the redundancy of his statement. He wondered about the other wizards and witches heading to Hogwarts with him in the very same train; not compartment, as him being late resulted in him getting an empty one; not that he minded, he enjoyed his peace and quiet. At least he would have, had there not been a commotion with some students outside.

The girl had made the train quite on time really. She was quite relieved as she had to do this all alone and having no clue what just happened she considered it as an achievement. Despite being an athlete she felt the pressure and was quite breathless. The girl slowly made her way along the corridor as she frowned at the compartment until she saw one with a sole individual and knocked on the compartment glass to get his attention.

Chris flinched slightly at the intrusion, and absentmindedly got up. Snapping back into reality, he realized how awkward it must have seemed, and, well, now that he got up he couldn't exactly pretend not to hear her. He walked over to the door and wrenched it open (with some difficulty. Obviously the doors fault.)

Professor Everett Hanson

Hogwarts Express

Professor Hanson looked up from his compartment when he heard the commotion. He had been chosen to chaperone the students on the train. Hesighed and started to get up. He knew he'd have to see if there was a fight and break it up.

Stepping out of his compartment he went to go check on the noise. It was a few train cars down but he had cast some alarm spells to let him know if anything too active happened on the train.

He passed by some of his past students and welcomed them back with a wave but sent them to their compartments.

The girl looked down at the struggle it was as if it was jammed, the girl helped as it finally opened and grinned "May I sit with you please? Everywhere else is full"

"Oh, yeah sure, go ahead." Chris said, motioning towards a seat. Immediately, questions started popping up in his head like wildfire. Was she from the wizarding world? Chris wondered. He decided to start with a simple question: "What's your name?" He blurted it out quicker than intended, making it sound awkward. He groaned inside. Grrrreaaat first impression, Chris...

The girl was quite used to awkwardness herself, she simply sat down opposite him placing her pet carrier down and letting out her lovely ginger coloured fur-ball as it slid on her lap. "My name is Aria... Aria Lynn Blanche and yourself?" the girl had a warm smile on her face, she didn't want to remove any chance of acquiring some friendships.

"My name is- Here Chris blanched at the religiousness of his name -Christopher McManus, but everyone just calls me Chris." Everyone being me. He then furrowed his brow at the name in concentration. "Are you of French decent?"

Aria

Aria couldn't help but let out a chuckle at that. "I get that alot... but no I am of Italian decent if you put it that way" she smiled towards the boy "Nice to meet you Chris, and this here is Fuoco" the girl scratched the cat's ear as he purred out.

Liliana Brew

Liliana had always hitched a ride with the Hogwarts Express, being that she stayed in the muggle world as a chef during her vacant days off from Hogwarts. She had settled herself in the compartment her colleague just left as she settled in her seat. Being she was resting for now as she wanted to prepare for the year and headaches to come.

Professor Everett Hanson

Hogwarts Express

Everett found some students fighting over a chocolate frog card. He broke up the fight and was now returning to his compartment.

There he found one of his colleagues, Professor Brew.

"Hello Professor. How are you this morning?" He gave a small smile as he sat back in his seat.

Chris nodded. She seemed alright. He wondered if it would be just plain rude to ask for her origin in the ("witching?" Chris thought) world. Eventually he gave into his temptation and was about to ask when a disturbance occurred from outside. Red streaks of light passed up and down the corridor, and when he stood up to look through the window, he saw a pair of schoolboys casting spells at each other. He looked at Aria, as though he was waiting for a proffered explanation. "Is this a normal thing?" he asked.

Liliana Brew.

The woman looked quite smart as she always did, despite her lack of sleep to plan everything she was still formidable. She was fiddling with her keys until she saw him walk through the door and settle in front of her as she slowly settled up, straightening her position. "Good morning to you Professor, quite hectic as always.. how about yours?" she placed her keys inside her purse as not to fidget anymore. She heard the sudden commotion and immediately jolted up from her seat "Not again.."

Aria Lynn Blanche

She went and looked at the couple shooting spells with awe and she was confused just as much as he is "I am afraid I can't offer a proper answer Chris, I merely know this exsisted a couple days ago!" she exclaimed

Everett was just about to answer as his alarms once again went off. He groaned and got up once more.

"That's your answer. Students keep fighting."

He opened the compartment and stepped out. He walked to where the fight was.

"You coming?" He called over his shoulder.

Chris nodded, relieved that he could be with another non-wizarding family witch. He decided to open the door a notch, hoping to gain some context

on the commotion. One of the boys audibly cast something that sounded like "Expellie armus". That definitely wasn't in their First-Year spell books. File and store. The charm missed, and the other boy countered with a "Stupefy"

Liliana Brew

The lady got up and quickly followed his lead and closed the door behind her "I suppose so, I quite prefer my morning than yours .." she stated as they headed towards the corridor with the dueling."They can't be patient enough to do this on school premises.. Eager"

Aria Lynn Blanche

Aria was a Half-Blood however she was raised as a muggle all her life due to the only connection she had was her mother being a witch however died at her birth. She noticed two adults approaching and tapped the boys shoulder pointing at them "Something tells me this is not going to end well"

Chris looked on with curiosity. He had wondered what the teachers would look like; He had already began to consider different career options in the wizarding world. One was a witch around the age of.. 30 Chris estimated. She had a strict look about her, but she didn't seem mean spirited. The other was a similarly aged man who was frowning at the ruckus.

Professor Everett Hanson

Everett immediately disarmed the students, both wands flying into his hands. They then disappeared in seemingly thin air.

"Be happy I didn't turn them into worms and squash them. This may be Hogwarts Express but you are still out of school! You want to be expelled?"

He was not a happy teacher. He glanced around and noticed two first years in a nearby compartment looking out at the scene in interest. He'd talk to them in a second to make sure they knew that magic isn't allowed outside of school.

The two third-year students winced. "No, Professor Hanson.." One of them murmured. "Sorry, Professor, he started it.." said the other. "Did not!" "Did too!" The squabbling continued in such a manner. Chris could practically hear the man's patience trickling away. He glanced over at Aria.

Liliana Brew

She stood right there behind him and watched him take authority due to their lack of misbehaving "I know magic can be such an eager experience but for Merlin's sake you need to calm down and wait till we reach Hogwarts. You two should know better for being in Hogwarts for three years now" she ventured forward "Its useless playing the blame game now"

Aria

Aria would probably not have been able to contain herself if she was in the other student's shoes right now as she notice the male glancing over and pulled herself and Chris back "Oh ...god.. he saw us.. he didn't look pleased about it!"

Professor Everett Hanson

Everett nodded as Brew gave her take on the situation. After taking points from their houses he turned his attention to the cabin with the first years in it.

"I'm just going to talk to these first years so they don't follow this poor example. I promise I won't be too scary." He joked a little with a quick grin.

He went to the compartment door and knocked.

Chris remained logical. "We have no reason to fear him. We did nothing wrong.. if anything -Here Chris put a hand up to his forehead in a manner of a fake swoon, and chimed in an exaggerated, high-pitched voice- we were traumatized by the horrifying events we witnessed!" He made sure to make the last part only audible to Aria.

Liliana.

She gave him a narrow eyed look "Your promises to not be to scary makes me wonder sometimes" she crossed her arms and let out a soft chuckle "I'll be back in out compartment once you are done" she gave her warm smile and slowly swayed her way back down the corridor.

Aria

She couldn't help but laugh at his attempt to falsely swoon but when he did so the knock on the door caused her to jolt up as she saw the male persona against the compartment door "Nice timing Chris" the girl and went to struggle with their jammed compartment door for the professor.

Chris started wondering on whether or not the "Reparo" charm described in his book would work on the door, when the professor came in.
