His Brother's Best Friend. (BxB PenBlade1326 x Harbinger)

"Well if ever thing is fine, I'm going to go down stairs and beat up your brother if you're interested in watching that. He still deserves that after letting my drink get spiked. Well if you want to come see, you're more than welcome to. I'll even let you throw in a few shots if you want to." Andrew got up and headed down stairs but before leaving he threw his shirt on the floor since it would get in his way and provide Jacob with a way to pull him away. With a large and devious smile on his face, he went downstairs and woke up jacob with a punch to the gut.

Jacob sprung up. He was surprised. Not angry, but shocked. He took the whole thing as a playful thing and went to tackle Andrew, but got sick from the booze and vomited, collapsing from sickness and passing out, still kind of intoxicating. He'd be fine...but still...gross. Hayden looked at Andrew's shirt on the floor. For a quick second, he got to see Andrew's torso...not bad. He picked up Andrew's shirt, took a quick sniff just out of curiosity. It smelled like his cologne...Hayden grinned and tossed it aside, then went downstairs and witnessed Andrew punching Jacob, then Jacob getting sick and passing out. Hayden placed a hand on Andrew's bare shoulder. "He's had enough...mostly from his own stupidity. Just let him rest, I'll clean up the barf, you go cool down." He said calmly, then he cleaned up the barf and washed his hands in the bathroom upstairs. With Andrew he was gentle...felt safe...weird. His touch left a tiny patch of chills on Andrew's shoulder, Hayden's touch cold and chilly. He finished washing his hands in the upstairs bathroom and went back in his room, hoping Andrew would just leave Jacob alone and come back upstairs. Hayden folded--actually folded--Andrew's shirt and put it on the bed, getting a quick sniff of the cologne again.

Andrew came up after giving Jacob a quick kick to the chest and went back upstairs to the bedroom. Before entering the room he caught Hayden smelling his shirt and folding it, he didn't know think of it. On one side it's flattering but on the other it's kinda weird. /He decided to not think about it and waited a few minutes before going back into the room. "Thanks for helping me down there and cleaning that crap off, I don't think I'm going to wear that shirt tonight. It's dirty and smell's bad." Andrew placed a small blanket on him and laid on the floor just staring up at the wall thinking about what to do with Jacob in the morning and how to get revenge on him. He thought of playing a mean prank or giving another punch to the stromach but harder.

Hayden held back telling Andrew the shirt actually smelled good...like...really good. He shrugged it off. "No problem." Was all he replied. He set the shirt aside on the foot of the bed. He glanced at Andrew in the floor, staring at the wall. For a split second...he almost wished he was the wall. Again, he shrugged it off. He cleared his throat slightly. "So...was the party...fun?" He asked, a bit curious...wanting to make conversation...though the topic would have been more relevant earlier. Now he just wanted to talk to Andrew.

"yeah, it was a little until it started to get a little out of control with the alcohol and partiers. I saw a few sports buddies and good friends before I left to take my walk. How was it up here with all the studying going on, I wish I could do that sometimes. But when I try to I just can't, I have to be moving constantly or I get very antsy." Andrew rested his head against the wall and just sat up looking back at Hayden.

"Studying was....quiet. Peaceful, no drinking party-goers. And if you get stumped when you study--and I say this for future reference--I could..tutor you, if you want. Maybe help you with whatever you struggle in..." Hayden suggested. He was a sophomore, but a sophomore that sadly could blow the entire senior class out of the water in test scores. He felt a sensation of...what was it...joy? Excitement? Or completely going bonkers? He was talking to someone...like...actually talking to someone. He noticed Andrew looking at him...finally. He grinned in his mind.

"that would be nice, thanks for that. I'll let you know whenever I need you're help and I'll repay you somehow for helping me. I just have to ask a quick question?, why are you always solitary and don't talk to anybody. I know if it is that you're nervous or something but with you it's something different and I can't put my finger on it." Andrew had a special look on his face the sorta of resembled the look of care and sorrow.

Hayden backed away mentally. "You don't have to repay me...and....I'm just....different." He said softly. He noticed Andrew's expression...it made him melt...no one ever seemed to care, really. His parents did..Jacob did...but they were family...and barely even that close. "I've always b-been shunned aside, I guess...just...I don't fit in. Plus my anxiety and depression often make it hard to...socialize. Let's just leave it at me being a different...freak who's doomed to live alone, forever. I don't see why it's your concern anyway, " Hayden commented, chuckling. Why would Andrew care? Not like he'd ever really care for Hayden...nobody seemed to. Just his books...and all of the scars hidden on his body.
"Whatever the reason for my shyness...it isn't important. Could we...please change the subject?" Hayden asked quietly, still sounding shy.

"It actually is starting to become my concern, no one else seems to care about you. Your parents only pay attention to the "golden boy" down stairs and no one ever looks your way or says hi. Don't say that you'll live alone for ever, there is somebody for you out there. Besides, you're not a freak, you got the brains then most ordinary people and you look very handsome. You have a nice personality from what I can tell and people love that in people. You're no different from anybody else, we all have our own problems that make us weird. I have alcoholic and drugged parents. They can't go 5 minutes without having a drink or a needle in their arm. What I'm trying to say is that you can become stronger from your problems if you take them head on and work hard to eliminate that problem. Just look at me, I don't let my parents get in the way anymore and I'm making something for myself. You have that in you to but you just have to set it free and that's what I want to help you with."

Hayden nodded slowly. He listened to every word Andrew said...boosting his self-confidence ever so gently, making him blush with that "handsome" compliment, and made him feel not so alone...someone had finally reached out to him...after all these years..."Uh...thank you. I'll...I'll take what you said into consideration. I appreciate it...and about your parents...for what they are...they uh...had a damn fine young man for a son. Despite how and who they are...I don't know how a bright, kind, handsome devil of a son can be produced by them." He admitted, his voice not as quiet...now more casual sounding. His shy and 'always-working' expression had morphed into...a gentle expression. He cleared his throat...that was the most he'd said to anybody in a long time. "I, uh...thank you..for what you said." He said softly again, his blush still remaining without him knowing. He started to lean over to peck his cheek from gratitude...although he stopped himself before moving an inch. Embarrassed and blushing even brighter, he looked away from Andrew's direction.
What's going on with me? Why am I being social? Hayden asked himself in his thoughts.
He stood up off the bed and cleared his throat again. "I think I'll do some reading..." He said, wanting to forget he nearly kissed Andrew's cheek, his own still red. He sat at his desk chair and opened a book he had ready on the desk.

"Alright, I'm going to try and get some sleep. I be up early to make us some breakfast and get a run in maybe before Jacob wakes up. Andrew tried to get some sleep but kept staring at the wall near Hayden's desk. A few times he would peek up and catch a look of Hayden's legs and rear for some reason. "Your welcome by the way and anybody would love to be with a nice man such as your self. Just think about that when you see a girl that you're interested or someone." Andrew didn't fall asleep and kept doing what he did every once in a while.

Hayden ended up not sleeping. He never noticed Andrew's glances at him as he read. He read 140 pages in his novel that night...funny. Usually he'd read 200 pages a night of any book. Something must have been off in his head. After 6am came around, he closed the book, snuck past Andrew, who he assumed was sleeping, not at all looking at him, and he went downstairs. All of the party goers had left and went home, Jacob still in the living room, passed out. Hayden then made breakfast by himself, as he usually did. He walked upstairs to get Andrew and tell him breakfast was ready, it now being 7:30am. He shook him slightly, "Hey..get up." He whispered into Andrew's ear, possibly giving him chills. Hayden then walked out, a minor sway in his step as he went to eat.

Andrew woke up shocked when he felt Hayden's voice in his ear. He walked down stairs and saw breakfast was ready, he began to eat and smiled at him. Sorry if I was staring again last night, I was thinking about something. Would you like to go with me on a run this morning, you can show off that body of yours to the women around here. They will definitely be over you after seeing you running down the road." Andrew got up and started to stretch a little bit and punched jacob in the gut for fun again.

Jacob didn't flinch in his sleep. The boy was still hungover...unable to move. How sad...yet hilarious. Hayden eat his food slowly. He shrugged at Andrew's offer. "I planned on going for a walk...maybe a run would do some good. Sure...I'll join you." He said, nodding and starting to wash his dish. He blushed at the "body" comment...also grinned slightly. "I think they'd all much prefer your body instead...better physique. Better...everything." Hayden commented, looking Andrew's body up and down, shaking his head slightly. "Besides, I'm not too interested in the women..." He said softly and started walking up the stairs to change.

"I've moved on from women for a while now, all they care about how much money a person has or handsome they look. I can't find anybody that seems to care about what a person feels or believes in." Andrew caught a glmipse of Hayden looking him up and down, he smiled a little bit and waited for Hayden to come down before going out.

Hayden came back down after a minute, dressed more appropriate for running. "Yeah...though it isn't the fact women can be like that that that makes me not attracted to them..." Hayden said, catching a glimpse of Andrew...shaking his head and grinning softly. "But I agree...I myself wish to find someone who's interested in the inside of a person...seeing appearance as a bonus." He said. "So...ready to run?"

"before we go though, I need to do something real fast." Andrew removed hayden's shirt and whistled at him when he saw his chest. 'that looks a lot better now, now we can go running." Andrew looked him up and down before going out the door with Hayden's shirt in hand.

Hayden stood stiff as Andrew caught him off guard and took his shirt. As the fabric dragged across his skin, it sent chills down his spine. He followed him outside, catching him before he left the sidewalk. "First, fairness." He said, then slipping Andrew's shirt off of him slowly, reaching up to get it off fully...almost like a seduction scene in a bad movie. "Now I've got yours. Ha. Shall we run?"

Andrew smiled when hayden removed his shirt but laighed a little bit. "Alright, first one to get around the block gets their shirt back and the loser has to keep it off for the rest of the day." He got into a stance and thoguht he would lose the rqce on purpose.

Hayden got into a stance, planning to do this fairly. "On your mark...get set...run!" He said, running down the sidewalk with Andrew at a steady pace, gripping Andrew's shirt tight and swinging it back and forth with his arms.

Andrew kept up with hayden bust kept a few paces ahead to look at hayden. He loved seeing him rin ahead of him breaking a sweat. Running ahead a few times he kept hayden a few paces in front of him and loved ebery moment of it.

At the end of the race, Hayden was a few feet ahead oh Andrew. He stopped, swaying his arms and wiping his forehead. "Victory! Shirt, please." he said, cracking a grin, catching his breath.

"Dammit, I thought I was going to let you have it. I have to admit, you did really well for a kid you're size." Andrew handed Hayben bqck his shrt and cleaned the sweat off him. "You're starting to become a really nice friend, why didn't I meet or talk to you sooner"

Hayden shrugged. "I'm kind of invisible...people forget me." He said, almost like he'd said he been a famous author...one would think that's a good thing. Well he said people forgot him like it's a good thing...is it? He slipped his shirt back on. "I think I'll save you the embarrassment and hand your shirt to you at the front door." He said, grinning again...though with Andrew's physique...why give the shirt back?

"No you keepp it, I saw you smelling it last night and I think you she keep it. It was very flattering of you to do that" Andrew smiled a little bit and gave him a quick hug, I feel like there is something going on but I can't figure idt out." He walked back inside and sat down near the still passed out jason.
