Fantasy Highschool Mythical Creatures Story

"So there's at least three of them"


"How many are there going to be?"


"Is that really the permissions?"


"Aw come on, if it is then I'm going to be so ticked off!"


"Hey Amaranth" I grinned "I guess we forgot them earlier" One crisis averted, although I'm not sure for how long. The teacher motioned for one of the sheets, after thorough scrutinizing over the document she huffed before going back to her desk.


"By all means you may stay in here all you like ... once you have the class that is. I may be able to make an exception for today but don't disrupt class" she looked at me and Allison before looking back towards the class "We have a few new students in our midst, I'm sure it might be the buzz for a few days or so, but please do be polite" She glared at a particular pair of girls in the back of  the room who reeked of five different perfumes and lotions. "We'd like their settlement here to be as easy as it possibly could be" She looked between me and Allison before settling on Allison "Would you care to introduce yourself?"


Oh boy, this is definitely something I'm looking forward to. I wonder what I have second period. I glanced at the clock, class had barely started.  seems like I've got U.S. History, then Honors Biology, Algebra two and then I have lunch mixed with gym. This is going to take a little getting used to. I instinctively freeze for a second wincing in unease as my shifting in my chair cause my tail to get pinned against the seat. I quickly recovered as if nothing had happened. Hopefully no one noticed, they were all looking at Allison anyways. I let out a quick sigh. This is going to take a lot more getting used to then I thought it would.

Amaranth smiled and happily skipped to a seat next to Allison and Jake. Pulling out 2 textbooks. Opening the 1 with a bookmark, which happened to be a chemistry honors textbook, and started reading.


(Can we all have PE together?)

Allison didn't reply when the teacher ask them to introduce themselves, she was getting ticked at the comments that the 'normal' students were making about them. There was no way, that she was going to speak to the entire class not even if the teacher asked, she would just pretend to have a sore throat. She flipped to the next page in her own textbook, and continued reading while jotting notes.
 
"Miss Allison, was it? would you please introduce yourself" The teacher was not happy about being ignored.
 Other murmurs started rising from the other kids again, I could tell this was going to snowball quickly if it didn't get halted soon.


"Sorry miss, she's just shy" I said quickly rising to my feet, inside I was nearly crying tears of joy for not having to further cramp my tail.


"And you are?" The teacher looked undeterred.


"I'm Jake, sorry everyone, she's just really shy around new people, this whole change has been really big for us" I glanced around the room looking at a few people, every student was looking at me as if they were waiting for something.


"Are you two siblings or something?" a girl two seats to my right asked.


"No, we are just good friends, I'm sorry I should have mentioned something sooner" I grabbed one arm and looked a little bit away from the class. This is way more intimidating than it should be.


"Well, seeing as Jake has opened a quick window for questions, if anyone has anything on their mind then go ahead and ask" She turns to look at me before continuing "If that's alright"


I nod my head. A few people looked really eager to ask questions, while others looked a bit more wary about asking them.


"why did you both move if you aren't related?"


"Oh, um that's easy . . . It's because we're all part of a student exchange program"


"From where? and where are you staying?"


"Canada" I said taking a second to breathe "And we have foster families that we stay with while we are here" I was lying straight through my teeth, only hoping no one caught on. That was the story we were told to use, they had it set up so to anyone else it seemed like we were foreign exchange students. "Anyone else got any questions?"

A male student who is giving off a green aura starts trying to get Allison's hood off making Allison flinch and hold down the hood. Noticing this, Amaranth lifted her head now looking dark and said in a pissed off tone to the kid "Don't stick your nose where it's not appreciated little boy, don't you think that it is hard enough as is to adjust. Just because we're new doesn't mean that you can expect us to sucks up to you." The boy flinch. Amaranth clinch her jaw to keep from growing/show her fangs and grabbed her jacket harder to keep her wings from flaring out of there hiding place. "Especially since you are making my friends uncomfortable"

Allison didn't dare move through the while scene afraid of the spotlight falling back on her if she did. She was glad that Jake stood up for her, but was distracted when a person tried to take off her hood. Again, full of joy when Amaranth defended her. She looked at Amaranth and mouthed 'You okay?' she didn't want her friend to get to angry at the kid. Still not wanting to get up she just waved from her seat, holding down her hood so that her ears were hidden but her emerald green eyes were still showing.

Amaranth still put off by the forwardness the the boy showed sat back down. Now siting a bit closers to Allison. Amaranth mumbled knowing Allison's ears could pick it up "Sorry I almost lost it there..." Amaranth hoped that her comment got though to the class, because there might not be a next time.

"Young miss, I don't know who you think you are intimidating other students like that". The Teacher scolded Amaranth for her actions. "You sir Caleb" looking at the student who was poking around at Allison's hoodie "are not off the hook either, just because of what she did does not justify you trying to pick on a new student either". She huffed obviously not pleased with the classroom's behavior. "Anyone else to disrupt my class for foolish or disrespectful things will be sent to the office, have I made myself clear" going to her desk she switched to a new page of a power point. "As for you young lady, I think you should go to a different classroom for today" She walks over to Amaranth's desk setting a hall pass in front of her "I believe this will suffice". 


This is exactly the kind of stuff i was worried about. I took my seat again, glad that no one had noticed anything off about me. I'm not sure how long we are going to last if things keep up at this pace. my face contorted itself into a half grimace half smile just wanting the chaos to blow over. I started writing down the new notes, a quick nervous glance towards Amaranth and Allison was all I could do to not draw attention to myself. Not a single student said a word. The only noises were from the air conditioning and the teacher's clicking away on the keyboard.

Allison was slightly relived when the teacher called out the student who wouldn't leave her hood alone. She frowned when Amaranth got in trouble, She didn't do anything wrong, well she didn't do anything dangerous, she thought. At least Jake wasn't getting in trouble, or getting picked at, he seemed to be pretty okay, and that was a positive thing, so instead of focusing on everything bad happening, she focused on the good. I also hope class ends soon because i can't take much more of this, she thought as she looked at the bell.

Amaranth smiled and happily said without a care in the world. "Actually if you read the paperwork, which took forever just to fill out and convenient the principal, I have the the ability to stick with any of the transfers till they feel comfortablewith their surroundings. In other words, I am aloud to stay in till they see fit. And with these students doing something that makes them uncomfortable. I won't be leaving. We might not be related, but we are a family." Amaranth said with a smirk. "Also if they feel threatened in any way, they are aloud to change their classes to mine or just hang where I am!" Amaranth said at the professor. Letting a little bit of demon sent from to help convenience the stubborn teacher.

Amaranth smiled and handed her phone number to Allison and Jake. "Before I forget again, here wolf pup, kitten. For if this happens again." Amaranth whispers "texts me now. We need to talk after class."

(Hi sorry, a LOT of things in my life just sorta happened in a row, I'm back now, and sorry for my Absence!)


"Ah yes, well those apply to OUR student ambassadors, people who are moving here with them aren't allowed to be the escorts" She gave a heavy sigh, realizing how much class time this was eating up "Besides, be it our student ambassadors or anyone who gets those papers, they are immediately revoked by any teacher who has probable cause. You young lady have only helped instigate trouble, not be rid of it. Now, I need you to leave, at least for a few days"


Tension was obviously present, the teacher turned back to facing the class "What about me and Allison's Ambassador?" I said it in a fairly quiet voice. 


She turned to look at me "I will make sure you have one by third hour, do you think you can manage to get to your next class today?"


I nodded, without another word, the teacher began finishing up this year's syllabus, only to have the bell ring right as she finished.
