Fantasy Hideout

This is my first roleplay, but I think I came up with a really cool concept and was too excited not to post!





Obviously if any experienced user wants to help me I will take it

The kingdom of Dendra is very prosperous. Merchants trade goods everywhere in the markets, the cities are teeming with life, and the surrounding villagers live a life of peace. At the center of the kingdom lies a great castle at the center where the king and his nobles live.





...in a secret room in the castle's long-closed underground corridors, lives a group of orphans, most of them teenagers. This diverse group survives by stealing food from the nobles in the castle, and by depending on each other as a family.





But all is not well for the group. They are constantly under threat of being arrested by the Imperial Guard patrols. And the kingdom is under threat as well...for magic abounds, and when there is magic there are bound to be abusers. Dark magicians plot to take down the king, and ferocious monsters attack without warning. The nobles are not suited to handle such threats. But the orphans, with their combined ingenuity, CAN save the kingdom from destruction.





What you can Sign Up as:

1. 
   

• Orphan- there will probably be 8-10 of these total. They may have magic and some combat abilities, but nothing over the top or superhero-like. Remember that they should know the other orphans beforehand, unless they are new to the group.
  

• Nobility- not the focus of the story. But someone has to keep the kingdom running!
  

• Evil Characters- You will be some of the main threats to the kingdom. You can be a dark magician looking to conquer the kingdom or seek some other sinister goal, or some sort of fantasy beast.
  

• Other- Those are the three main categories, but you can still sign up as another type of character. Just be sure the idea is good and fits with the storyline!
  

Races allowed:



Human and elf, or any mix of the two.

This would be an interesting concept, except it's like every cheesy children's show ever. A lot of young people save the kingdom.


They are 12-17 years old without any official schooling, practically starving, and living in contact fear of being arrested. What in hell would make them save the very society that cast them down the the bottom of the totem pole? I would think they would rather watch it burn to the ground.


Just my two cents though. ^^

Better to live a hard life than have the ones you love die, right? (And indeed the dark forces that I will unleash would be absolutely brutal). That could be an interesting talking point among the orphans though. It would even be great for one of them to be the "watch the world burn" type!

Also how this probably will work is after all the characters are made, I will make an event every now and then to make the roleplay continue going. Also the first few evil characters will be controlled by me.

Great to see such interest! The post length can be anywhere from 3-4 lines to many paragraphs, since this is a Casual Roleplay.


@Drunk Dragon worldbuilding help would be fantastic, though I already have some neat new ideas of my own.


Tomorrow you can expect to see the thread up with an introduction scene!

Yes! as long as you can connect them to the other characters it should be fine. It will be explained more once I finish editing the main thread

@Corrosion actually I'm not too sure about your character because there is no military here (it is Imperial Guard). A robot is okay as long as it is not super high tech.
