The tomb complex is just a general starter to get people introduced to one another- afterward I was planning to just let people knock around the world doing standard fantasy kung-fu stuff. In terms of region,is this going to be mainly a dungeon crawl? As in,we'll mainly be exploring/fighting in the tomb-complex/mausoleum.
Second of all,my initial character concept was a young human who got possessed via an artifact by an ancestor who was a powerful (non-Chinese) cultivator in antiquity. They exercise their power by taking the ancestor's likeness in a sort of magical girl transformation and have been spending some time protecting their hometown as a sort of superhero/xiake before heeding the call to Hong Kong.

Well,my character was going to be from a fictional country but drawing on Egyptian and Hittite mythologyHi!
Are you still accepting new apps? And what kinda folklore limits can our charries use? Do they all have to be real world legends or AU made up ones all goods?
Well, I'd need to see your specific example, but the guy I'm thinking of owns the last Circuit City in Florida and makes magic artifacts.Hi!

Ummmm actually gunna withdraw. Good luck with RP!Well, I'd need to see your specific example, but the guy I'm thinking of owns the last Circuit City in Florida and makes magic artifacts.
I think we're sticking with this OOC thread right hereis there a discord for this game? right now i'm considering an old char concept I had for a swordsman who has no sword
Yep, that's fair. Any particular suggestions with what I should do? I was thinking possibly making void breathing strictly defensive with just the added resistance to mental attacks/curses/etc and/or maybe just keeping the unnerving aura that makes it harder to focus, because that is easy to ignore. Possibly making it so you can't void step whilst void breathing? As for the Breath Injunction Palm Strike Technique (I do like how extra I made the name), I am not sure what to do with it. I am mostly just imagining using it as a finishing move anyway, so if Xinyi is going to win the fight they'll successfully use it, otherwise they won't.Alright, Nell, That Which Should Be, Stars Above, I'll approve y'all's. But we might have to tone down the power dampening since that can get out of hand real fast.
Draco Nightshade... well, maybe give it a go when you're feeling up to it.
To be honest, that's kind of exactly what I was shooting for with the "more laid-back cultivators" that survived purges. More sustainable things like farming/ranching your magic ingredients for the neidan. This rp looks very interesting. I like both Wuxia and urban fantasy, so I think this will be fun.
I've got in mind a chef/southern style kung fu themed cultivator - possibly something of an herbalist. Pulling from the concept of achieving longevity/power through eating certain ingredients, I'll probably explore the idea that these abilities can be enhanced through the proper preparation (e.g. cooking or fermenting). Hopefully that fits in with the concept, but let me know if there's anything that needs changing.
Ooooh I like those ideas a lot- I’ll definitely think about that when making my character, thanks! You could fuse the ideas of nightclub fixture and artistry and run a musician too. Room for both support and active combat skills, lots of variety and different styles and instruments to pick from that can suit different personalities. Painter could be a more traditional spellcaster making painted talismans on the spot, or a summons guy as he works on his inkwash masterpiece set that comes to life in increasingly real ways as his skill improves?
Another thing could be that you've started incorporate art techniques based on 'digital' art as well- the ability to copy-paste, blur, and so on.Ooooh I like those ideas a lot- I’ll definitely think about that when making my character, thanks!
