Hi everyone ^_^

Well, that depends, do you want to start off small? Just one partner and yourself? Or would you like to start in a group?

I like both styles, but I think I'd probably like to start out in a group.

1x1 Interest Checks

Look through any one of these. Though if you need something specific, you can let me know about that as well and I can do more in depth search.

Thank you very much :) I'll do that. Is there anything in particular that I have to do to join in? Or is it the norm to just create a character in an rp that looks open?

It's pretty hard since there's thousands of kanji characters to learn. Studying languages is pretty fun though (minus the part where you get graded on how well you've learned it). I think if the grading aspect was taken out of foreign language classes, people could learn a lot more.
Definitely. German was my hardest class, and I was constantly stressed about it.

It's not an easy language to learn (though learning languages in general is hard). It helps to have a good teacher and class. I enjoyed my German class because we made movies in german all the time. I remember the last one I made was about a zombie apocalypse.

That sounds cool. I'm moderating a group RP about zombies. This one girl in my German class thought I was mute.

Zombies are such an interesting conflict to involve in rps and stories.

If the Germans didn't speak English so well, I think my german host family would probably have thought that I was mute too. It's hard to be confident enough to try speaking in a foreign language. Though it's strange that that girl would have thought you were a mute taking a language class.

The German exchange students I met were super nice. I'm that class I was super shy and quiet, and I sat/hid in the back corner.

It takes a huge amount of confidence to be outspoken in a foreign language. I don't think I would have done as well as I did in my class if I hadn't had my friend helping me through it.

There was a scheduling mistake, and little terrified sophomore me was put in a class with juniors and seniors. I didn't know anyone, was too shy to try and make friends, and was at least a semester behind everyone else.

That sounds terrifying! Upperclassmen can be pretty intimidating, even if they are friendly. And it sounds difficult to try to keep up when everyone else has a head start. There weren't many German classes at my school, so there was also a mix of levels, but my teacher would always teach to the person who knew the least.

I wish my teacher did that. This class was right after P.E., and that was when I got bullied the most, so usually by the time German class came, I was too stressed, upset, scared, bruised, etc to concentrate.

There's no way to concentrate after going though stuff like that. I'm sorry to hear that you had such a rough time. People can be depressingly cruel for no reason. I don't think anyone could blame you for having a hard time when you were so stressed out.

The teacher kinda did. In his defense, he had no clue. Thanks, though. Things are a lot better now.

I'm very happy to hear that things are better. It's a shame that your teacher was harsh on you, but I suppose people cannot act upon what they do not know. It is impressive that you endured and have reached a good place, and I hope things continue to improve for you.

There was this really nice guy in that class who brought donuts for the class. For some reason, there wasn't enough, and so he gave me his. For a stranger to give me a donut "because I looked kinda down, and I deserved one" was huge. It meant the world to me.

I don't blame him. There was no way he could've known what was going on.

Looking back upon things in retrospect can be pretty revealing that way. We learn to understand people we used to be angry or frustrated with. It's a sign of maturity, and a good thing too. Not everyone ends up learning how to do that, so that makes you pretty special.

I was wondering why people kept calling me Ed. Wow, I'm a really terrible person. That is an awful joke.

There's a lot of people who've put up with worse though.

There's not much use in comparing suffering. Just because a person has suffered worse does not negate any feelings of suffering you may have experienced. Just like another person being happier doesn't mean that someone isn't happy about something. If our feelings were negated by other people then that would be quite strange. It's best to evaluate ourselves on our own merits and accomplishments.

Very true. I'm just saying that they could make, and I did too.

That makes sense. I hold a lot of respect for people in general, and I think it is worth being proud of everyone who has managed to make it through a difficult time. The human spirit can be very impressive.
