i found a working pair of earbuds and that's it. that's exactly what i like. it's almost like someone combined my family's tastes and put them into one genre! thank ya for showing it to me! and sorry for the wait between replies - like i said, i'm nervous - so i tend to edit my posts a bit before i post them, even when it's just small talk, haha.Talon said:@rusticyawn not quite you see any sub-genre can have vocals. but either he didnt want to put them or he colnt find a singer. now i want you to look up veorra - standby. Veorra is a trap group. trap is the kinda music most rappers rap too. veorra is REALLY good!¡!¡
oh, thank you! that's quite comforting, actually - taking time to give everyone even a standard post is nice, but it's even more so that you take the time and tailor it for everyone who drops in. it really shows you all care about your userbase, even those who might not stick around very long. (and i've also always secretly wanted to know whether admins on big sites on this one used it, too, so that's terribly interesting, haha)Xylin said:It's only standard since I do so many of these a day I'd find it hard to try and be unique with everyone. I do read the intro posts though.
(i looked up what all of those birds looked like - i don't know if it's just me, but god, owls are really cute,)Kestrel said:American Kestrels are one of my favorite birds, and possibly my favorite type of falcon, closely followed by the Peregrine falcon. Anyway, several years ago, I used to volunteer at a local raptor rehabilitation center. We head eight resident birds that we used for education around the communities. We got to go to shows, schools, stuff like that. Each bird had come from the wild, but do to injuries, they couldn't be released. Nicodemus was our grumpy old man, a Great-Horned Owl. Dug and Athena were a pair of Burrowing Owls that were cage-mates, because they hit it off so well when they met. Luna was a sweet little Short-Eared Owl. Tango was a Swainson's hawk. Her cage-mate was a Rough-Legged Hawk, named Odin. Arthur was a merlin, and his cage-mate was Tasha, who was an American Kestrel. She was one of my favorites, because she was so mellow and good-natured. She was always sweet and gentle. I handled her, Arthur, and Dug, so I was closest to them, but I loved them all. I got to bring some of the birds to school, and one of the birds I picked was Tasha. Hence, I became known as Kestrel (and the crazy bird lady, but that's another story). People have since shortened Kestrel to Kes.
This was actually difficult to type, seeing as Vex was trying to run on the keyboard.
hey, goodnight! hope you get some good sleep - it's nice getting to know ya!Talon said:
will do, @Talon! (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑Talon said:thx! also look up dubstep, glitch hop, and chillstep to name a few. along with veorra - standby

They are super cute! Unfortunately, the center closed down about 6 years ago. Vex isn't a bird, he is a sugar glider, a tiny marsupial the size of a hamster. My current bird is a little Dusky-Headed Conure named Jade.rusticyawn said:(i looked up what all of those birds looked like - i don't know if it's just me, but god, owls are really cute,)
that's pretty incredible. you have a local raptor rehabilitation center? i can't imagine - i think i'd really love to visit a place like that at least once, too. from a distance. birds are kinda scary when you've never handled one. (read: i'm a huge wimp.)
and though she's certainly not a bird, i have the same problem with animals trying to crowd your keyboard. except my cat knows she's not allowed and will jump up onto it and run around when im not looking. >
i'd absolutely never heard of one before, ooh, it's like a squirrel, a mouse, and an opossum in one. they're terribly cute, but really strange - their eyes are something unique. for that reason, i think if i showed one to my mom, we'd have one immediately, haha.Kestrel said:They are super cute! i'm sorry to hear the center closed down - it seemed like an incredible place to be and raptors seem like especially cool birds to be close to. sorry about the continuing onslaught of questions, but im terribly interested - are those your only two pets at the moment? and are birds generally hard to take care of? i felt like i've heard that birds have some needs that people generally aren't aware of when they get one, but is it particularly hard to keep one?
I don't mind the questions. I agree, gliders are adorable, but they do best in pairs or groups. Otherwise they get lonely and depressed and die. I'm not exaggerating. They have such huge eyes because they're nocturnal.rusticyawn said:i'd absolutely never heard of one before, ooh, it's like a squirrel, a mouse, and an opossum in one. they're terribly cute, but really strange - their eyes are something unique. for that reason, i think if i showed one to my mom, we'd have one immediately, haha.

I gotta give you a warm up rp so that u can get comfortable, I've designated myself to be the greeter for the new members!!! I'm really friendly so don't be afraid to say stuffs to me, just don't be mean or I'll be sad. But based on how you talk you seem very kind ^^
that's always good to know - i tend to always be full of questions! you're free to drop any conversation if they get too much though - i'll certainly understand.Kestrel said:I don't mind the questions. The refuge was amazing, and I was understandably devastated when the last bird, Arthur, passed away.
Vex and Jade are my only pets at the moment, because my Sun Conure, Sunny, passed away a few weeks ago. My family does have a Siberian Husky, my little sister has a bunny, and my older sister has a snake, a Black Lab puppy, and a Belgian Malinios mix.
It depends on the bird. Some are quiet, clean, and generally easy to care for. Others (like Sunny) are much more demanding. It's too quiet? They scream and throw things. Too loud? They scream and throw things. Happy? Sad? Annoyed? They scream and throw things. If Sunny was mad, he'd tip over his food and water dish, and unhook all his toys from the bars of the cage and throw them down. It really just depends on the species, age, sometimes gender, and the personality of the individual bird. As a rule, birds can tend to be more challenging since they haven't ben domesticated and still have most of their wild instincts.
I'm always asking random questions.rusticyawn said:that's always good to know - i tend to always be full of questions! you're free to drop any conversation if they get too much though - i'll certainly understand.
that sounds scary! how much time do you usually spend with Vex to make sure they're happy? are there any warning signs you'd need to look out for to make sure they're not depressed, or is it a sudden thing?
and it definitely sounds like your house would be a pretty loud place to be, haha. i can't imagine so many people and pets moving around at all hours.
I uhhh ;w; I dunno! X3rusticyawn said:thank you so much! (i'm blushing!) and hey, you seem really nice as well!
but it's a really cool idea! it's a one on one, right? it's weird, but i have surprisingly little experience with those - it'll be really cool to try it out. how would it work? what do i need to send ya next? (can i even send pm's yet? is that how it's usually done?)

SHE'S SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!! U should talk to her Kamryn (:3)(:3)(:3)()()()kamryn said:Hey I'm Kamryn! Welcome, I'm also new here but you seem really cool! ^\\\^ I hope we can maybe talk more and possibly roleplay~~

ooh, okay! i'll probably have a sorta small crew, since i can get too wordy with just one character, i can't imagine a group of seven! i might try to send you a pm to see if it's working. i noticed the one on one board right after i posted that, though - if it doesn't work, it'll probably just be easier to use that, haha.sgtmickey said:I uhhh ;w; I dunno! I think you can just respond by giving me your character(s) that are taking my boyz on the journey, if you don't want all of them you can ask for a smaller crew depending on who you like :3
I guess u can send pm's I mean....I think u can o3o
woah, hey! thank ya! i read your introduction thread, too - you seem pretty cool too! and i definitely agree, we should roleplay. do you already have a one on one interest check? if ya don't, i plan on making one soon enough, and i can send that to you when it's done? (and you should also tell me your favorite steven universe ship, if ya have one. and your favorite character. this is strictly need to know information!)kamryn said:Hey I'm Kamryn! i keep saying it but gosh darn it that's so cute! have you had any problem's taking Vex places? do you have to worry him moving around a lot?Kestrel said:I'm always asking random questions.
I spend as much time as I can with him. As soon as I get home from work, i take him out and feed him. I usually let him run around in his ball, or nap in my pocket while I do homework. I think it's slower, but I'm not 100% sure, since he's my first sugar glider. I think they slowly get more and more lethargic and depressed, and they quit eating. I'm hoping to get him a friend, possibly during the summer, so that I'd have more time to bond with a new glider, and introduce her to Vex. During weekends I have him out and on me almost all day. When it's warm, I take him out with me. He's been to Wal-Mart, Burger King, pet stores, etc. This one time, my sister had him at Wal-Mart, and he was on her shoulder, and this little kid said, "Look, Mommy! That lady has a lemur!"
My older sister moved out, but when she visits it's loud and cramped. When she was living at home at one point we had 3 birds, 2 dogs, 2 snakes, a guinea pig, etc. We usually have a zoo at our house. I also kinda unofficially have 3 cats. I work at a vet clinic, and part of my job is taking care of the clinic cats.

(*i've also read homestuck! mostly - i got all the way up to act six, back when homestuck was rather popular. i'm thinking of picking it back up when it ends, but... hussie... it just doesn't end. a-and wait- i'm cool?)

i keep saying it but gosh darn it that's so cute! have you had any problem's taking Vex places? do you have to worry him moving around a lot?
Nah. He usually is asleep in a pocket, a hood, the pouch, etc. Most of the time, people don't realize I have him. I just make sure he stays with me, and doesn't jump around, and everyone's fine. Usually, if he wakes up and wants on my shoulder, everyone wants to pet and hold him.<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_02/Screenshot_2015-03-01-00-16-41.png.a5e09aa543d3f135810bf49c98e511ae.png" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="108372" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_02/Screenshot_2015-03-01-00-16-41.png.a5e09aa543d3f135810bf49c98e511ae.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>rusticyawn said:i keep saying it but gosh darn it that's so cute! have you had any problem's taking Vex places? do you have to worry him moving around a lot?
