The stigmas around Komaeda haunts the community like a poltergeist. People are still mischaracterizing him and it drives me up the wall. But it wasn't just the stigma, I wanted to roleplay him as in-character as I could, I kind of overwhelmed my expectations.

I read your post for Gintoki the closest thing to a comic in the one piece world is of the Germa 66 family (the Vinsmokes). Oda based them on Super Sentai, they’re a well known royal family with an army of genetically enhanced super humans and cyborgs. Ace will probs mention them if he cross paths with Gintoki if the topic comes up.Finally got my gintoki post out

Oooh that's a super neat detail!! I searched it up and the fact it's based on an existing group in One Piece really spices up the world building.
Gintoki would unironically get hooked on it if Ace somehow had a copy.

Ahh Ace has been all over the world he takes a look at Gintoki, Obanai, and Zenitsu’s clothing it’s a reminder of his short stay at Wano. ( Oda based Wano on feudal era Japan!) His crew mate, Izo, he was a retainer of the late Shogun Oden before joining the White Beard pirates. He’s the sniper of the crew.
