Realistic or Modern Hero's Virtue

"Hm? Yeah, perfectly fine. Just a bit overwhelmed." She sighed softly. She closed her eyes as she offered him a warm smile. "You? What's up with the nose bleed?" She looked back down at a menu. Nothing good.. She glanced up at the waitress as she spoke up, looking back to the menu before she spoke up. "Just an egg, over easy. And water will be fine." She offered a smile, looking back over to Hazel and Ayden. At least this way they could afford whatever Hazel was about to spoil herself with.. she sighed. She should probably try to be nicer to the kid, but she was spiteful and a bit unforgiving. She still couldn't believe the little brat had bitten her.

"I want the same thing she's having, please." Hazel said politely to the Kathren, much to Ayden's confusion. Wasn't she fantasizing earlier about drizzled waffles, sprinkles, whipped cream, and more sugary nonsense? "I'd rather and egg over hard with a side of french fries and a coke." Ayden asked almost guiltily because of Hazel's odd order. Maybe she's content with sugar packets. It was probably unlikely but it didn't matter much, does it? Kathren nodded, quickly jotting down their orders and collecting the menus. As Kathren leaves Ayden felt like he had to restrain himself from yelling. "Just what the heck are you up to, Hazel?' But Hazel just continued to stare at him innocently, instead opting to grab Manami's arm, which she was busy patching. After a few minutes of her not answering, he pulled a pen from his pocket and started to write down a list on one of the cruddy napkins, then showed it to Manami.

Manami raised an eyebrow at Hazel's order, deciding to just shrug it off. Strange.. but it didn't harm anyone. She tensed up when the little girl grabbed the arm she was wrapping, gazing down at her warily. "Let go, please. It hurts." Her tone was softer now, hoping she could coax the girl into letting go. She didn't feel comfortable with her clinging to her like that. She turned to look at Ayden as she say the note in the corner of her eyes. Strange.. what was so important that he couldn't just tell her?

Hazel quickly heard what Manami spoke and quickly released her tight grip, mumbling a quick sorry and continued to gulp down sugar packets while waiting for her food. Meanwhile, Ayden just had his full concentration on the list. The list was a list of to-do's of sorts but he didn't want to say them out loud for fear that others would get curious. It was sort of a bucket list for the current events happening. Stuff like 'find out more about the yellowness', and 'attempt to get info out of Hazel'. He thought about scratching it out, the kid was impossible, but if there was any chance he would still 'attempt' to interrogate her later. He hesitated about the last point as he saw it piqued Manami's curiosity before writing 'find out who Akai Shi really is'. He bit the edge of his pen proudly. Even though the odds of that are a bazillion to one of finding out at least Manami might be able to help me with that. Ayden smiled at himself with this thought as Kathren came back juggling their plates. "Here's your order. I'll be right back with you, there's trouble in the back.." Kathren swiftly set down their plates of straight-from-the-pan eggs for each of them and turned to leave.
