Dr. Starling
Dr. Starling grabbed Astra and spun her towards Akeldama. However, when the taller vampire lunged over him and stabbed his back, he felt the claws go in only about a few inches through his back. Of course, nothing vital was inside that part of Starling's body and it would take just a few Tylenols to fix. He pushed Dama's claws from his back and stepped past Astra, turning to face both Dama and Astra.
"You like fire? How about this fire?" He lowered his breather and a jet of fire erupted from his mouth. At the same time, the fire curved at the edges in a strange bend of light, making it travel so much faster than it should've. Of course, drugs still had their negative effects so his aiming was more of a spray, setting nearby buildings alight before occasionally being able to point to the vampires.

Katherine put her arms on Leo's shoulders, closing her eyes and giving a moment of silence for their late sister. "Leo didn't kill her then. By logic, you two weren't able to sustain her. While Leo was stealing for your survival and Serena...sorry, I didn't quite catch what you did during this time?"

Dama jumped ahead of Astra. He draped himself over her just as he felt the flames start to hit. He knew that this was a stupid idea, but for some reason he knew this is what he should do. Dama continued to protect Astra.

Astra curled against him, trying to take some of the heat as she sheltered against him. She didn't know why, but this crazy vampire had tried to help her. She was definitely gonna hold a grudge about the whole vampire changing thing though.Kingmalikai said:

Serena frowned at Katherine, "I did as much as a two year old could do. I tried my best, but even then it was hard. We went on for several years, and when I was 12 he ended up in prison. Still yet, I did all I could to try and get food for us. Even resorting to... awful things..." Serena looked away, letting some tears fall down her face. Leo looked surprised at this, having not heard this story before. He had always assumed she had gone to some orphanage or... something.

Starling's breath was exhausted, and he waited for a second. Suddenly, veins appeared across his face as he was prepared to deliver a fatal blow. Space began to bend around him as his anger rose. "You think you can just sit here and get away with-UGNH!" A reptilian foot about the size of Starling's body knocked him to the ground and stayed over him. Another voice, a more awkward one that sounded more like a squawk was heard from the 20 foot tall creature who owned the foot. "SPIDER!! IS IT GONE!? Oh thank god..." Quetz stopped talking and turned to the vampires, then looked down at the man he just stepped on. Of course, Starling didn't die, he was just unconscious. The dinosaur tilted his head at the vampires. "Is he one of yourSQUAWK? I'm sorry..."

Dama stood up slowly. Finding it hard to get to his feet. The clothes on his back were nearly burnt completely off, and he featured several bad burns across his back. He turned to face the dinosaur, with an odd look on his face, "No. Do with him as you please." He turned back to face Astra, kneeling down to speak to her again, "You... you need someone to teach you how to be a vampire."

Awkward mother time. Katherine walked over to Leo and Serena and pulled them both into a hug. "You both tried your best to support a family, and that's not an easy job." She awkwardly started rubbing both of their backs. "It's okay to cry about what happened but...please stay with each other because you're family. You still have each other, and you have to have each other's backs."

"Squawk." Quetz pulled Starling's body off the ground and flew away into the horizon, dropping Starling into some nuclear waste plant on accident. "Oh shit. First it was the sewers, and now...this." Quetz shrugged his wings and kept on flying. He was planning on going to Atlanta to visit his good friend Hugo.

Leo hugged Serena, and awkwardly put a hand on her back, "It's... it's okay." Serena cried into Leo's shoulder, holding him tightly. After a few minutes they finally separated. Serena rubbed some of the tears from her face, and looked at Leo. They both knew they were going to be better off now. Serena walked over to Katherine and hugged her. She stood up on her tiptoes and whispered in Katherine's ear, "Thank You." Serena started to walk away, only stopping to turn around and say, "I'll see you later, brother." She continued to walk away. Leo turned to Katherine and looked at her with a smile,
"I didn't think that we would ever... thank you." Leo hugged Katherine tightly, leaning up and kissing her.

Nathan was still completely blown away by everything around him. He checked the beds and they were soft. He flicked the switch and lights came on and off. He went to the sink and when he turned the lever water came pouring out.

This was all very alien to him. Almost as alien as the alien device he picked up. He sat and though for a moment and decided to explore a bit more so he made his way out of the building and to the tallest tower. The Heros tower.

He looked back, sympathy, in his eyes, "I don't want to be like me." He sighed before speaking again, "It's rare to meet a kind vampire though... maybe you can change that."
