I tend to flip between crusader kings and europa, but I also enjoy vicky a lot. I wasn't a fan of HoI III... At all, too poorly explained, and simultaneously, too easy.

CK2 is my favorite currently on the basis that HoI 3 was too much effort if you wanted to organize everything decently but i still love it as im a bit of a ww2 nerd, I want to get into EU too but considering ill be paying for both CK2 and HoI IV DLC somewhere starting this year I don't think i can afford that.
