Hello Everyone

AlphaLeonis

Regulus
Hello everyone;

I'm AlphaLeonis, though you can call me Alpha, Leonis, Leo etc. I'm 28 and have been role-playing for at least 7 years, originally on a various selection of Naruto Forums but most recently on marriland.com.

I've always had a fascination with medieval and science-fiction novels, shows and movies; even as a kid I've loved ancient cultures and mythologies. The last roleplays I've been involved with have taken this into account, however I am more than willing to try role-playing any genre and am also interested in both group and 1x1 roleplays.

In addition to RPing and reading, I'm also an avid gamer, movie buff, music lover and somewhat of a musician.

I'm really happy to be here, and thankful to Amaranthine for recommending this site to me. I hope we'll all have many awesome adventures together. If anyone has any questions for me, or there's something that I missed, please let me know or message me and I'd be happy to answer or even just to chat.

Thank you for the warm welcome, and it's so true, you really can't go wrong with dragons (^U^)

As for mythologies, Greek mythology would be the one I've had the most exposure to though Roman, Norse, Egyptian, Celtic, Japanese and Chinese mythologies are also of interest to me though really, I'd be happy if i could study all the mythologies of the world.

I do happen to play LoL and am always looking for new people to play with. I find it's more fun to play with people i know than with people the game just puts on my team, though sometimes those results can be interesting too. My username on LoL is psyblade99 if you or anyone else are interested. ( :) ) I've been playing Ahri mid a lot lately, though I don't think I'm too bad as a support (mainly Taric/Morganna).

As for music, that's pretty sweet that you're in at Berklee, I applaud anyone who gets to study music full-time. I mostly play piano (and i played clarinet in high school), I guess you might call me a hobbyist since I really just play it at home, though I do play keyboard/organ for my local Church. I'd taken lessons using the Royal Conservatory of Music's practical program but stopped when high school/university got busy, though I've been meaning to get back into lessons again (can never stop learning (^U^)). Regarding what music I like... really I like most any music; I tend to judge based on song rather than group/genre. If I had to give a short list it'd look something like:

Classical: Holst's Planets Suite

Rock: Too many songs to mention but I'll put Hotel California (The Eagles), Layla (Derek and the Dominoes), Won't Get Fooled Again (The Who), Bohemian Rhapsody/Another One Bites the Dust/We Will Rock You (Queen) as a sample list... there are many more that could fit here.

Metal: Quite a few songs by Dragonforce and Nightwish

And many more from most genres of music including Nightcore songs, Country, Pop, Folk, Jazz... I don't really think there's many genres of music that I don't like (^U^).

On that note (music), what kinds of music do you like? What instrument(s) do you play, if any? What are your favorite LoL characters? Do you like any other video games?

I took a look at the link, sadly I couldn't read the Latin, though a Norse mythology RP sounds pretty cool (^U^).

Ashe is a fun ADC, and I have TF but haven't played him much. I would say I'm still building my repertoire as well, I'm only level 19 and I totally know the feeling about needing LoL hiatuses. As you are to support, I am to jungle; I'm still learning routes, times to gank, etc. I find I'm better in a lane, to be honest and as support, I try to do whatever I have to in order for my ADC to survive. If I'm low on health and can't escape, I'll eat a stun/attack so the ADC can get out if I have to (though I like to think my survivability had gone up recently). And yeah, if you do end up adding me, I'd be more than happy to join you in some matches.

Skyrim's such a fun game and one that has great music in parts, but I've never played any of the Sims games. Ones I gravitate to are JRPGs like Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger, Pokemon is somehow still fun for me and I absolutely love the Mass Effect games (though the third one could have been done better). Like with music, my video game list is rather long though it mostly consists of Nintendo and XBox 360 games with some PC gaming thrown in more recently now that I have a semi-decent laptop.

Flute is such a beautiful instrument and classical music is a joy to listen to. I love film scores as well; I find scores such as those by John Williams and Hans Zimmer to be some of my favorites: Star Wars, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, the Pirates of the Caribbean series, the Kung Fu Panda series and Madagascar 2 to name a few. I find a great score can elevate a movie as much as any great script, acting performance, etc. I actually have the soundtrack CDs for the Lord of the Rings trilogy (^.^)

Well, it's a nice-looking Latin filter (^U^) and it certainly has me interested.

Most multiplayer games for me used to be whenever I went over to a friend's house. On the PC side of things, I mainly played Diablo 2 since that's what my old computers could run. Now however I'm enjoying LoL, SMITE, Heroes of the Storm, Diablo 3, and Guild Wars 2 since my laptop can finally run some games. I think there's a lot of people out there whose middle school days are taken up at least in part by Pokémon; I don't know why, but I just keep playing those games.

Howard Shore is a great composer, I also forgot to mention John Powell for such movies as Shrek, Rat Race, Drumline, Happy Feet series, Rio series, co-composing with Zimmer on Kung Fu Panda, and especially the How to Train Your Dragon series.

I also forgot to mention in my opening post, I'm something of an anime fan.

Also, are there any other RPs/RP creators you'd recommend? I'm definitely interested in your work, but I'd like to know whose work you enjoy here as well.

Cool, I'll definitely check those recommendations out, and will be keeping an eye out for your roleplay.

I find Heart Gold to be one of my favorites in the Pokémon series, though X and Omega Ruby are up there too.

Anime can be kind of hit-or-miss with me, either i like a series or I just don't.

I'll definitely be looking around for roleplays to join, and I'll certainly be sure to let you know when I'm scouting around. I'm always willing to try a new RP and I figure by checking out a few of the already established ones, I'll be able to find ideas of where I want to look for ones to join.
