After methodically snipping away piece by piece at the loose bandages that were drooping carelessly from around Varen's head, Vanessa brought herself around to the other side of his bed where she'd dispose of the clipped gauze wrappings into a small garbage bin. Aware of the fact that this patient of hers was now in a stable, conscious condition and wasn't suffering from anything that was life-threatening at the moment, she'd believe it would be appropriate to bid her farewells to Varen so that she may resume giving care to those who were going through far worse than him; victims suffering from mortal wounds that weren't expected to make it even with Vanessa's affectionate support, sadly this was the disheartening reality of living in a place like Hell City, acknowledging that there will be people that die every single hour in this awful place and hardly anyone will bat an eye in return. "Well, I suppose this is where we part ways! But first, i'd just like to inform you more about your current situation." Vanessa straightened her posture and cleared her throat, presenting herself in a more professional demeanor as to now mimic the gravity of what she was about to say. "As you are already aware, a large percentage of your body is scarred due to the burns you sustained; over 2/3rds of it. Moreover, there's that grievous head injury that you somehow managed to survived; the projectile having been stuck occipital lobe. These wounds of yours, while grim, were able to be mostly treated by myself." Varen scrunched his brow in confusion at what she'd said, interjecting almost immediately as if alarmed by her statement. "Mostly? W-what do you mean by that?!" As with these types of affairs, there was always the bad news that came with it. Bellerose felt indisposed, guilty even about notifying him of the drawbacks of his surgery, however, she would carry through with her response, albeit taking a moment to release a pent-up sigh prior to telling him. "You were in such a critical state that absolving you of your wounds could've spelled dangerous consequence, in order for you to survive I had to cut corners. I strictly dedicated my power to keeping you alive, that is why your serious injuries are still visibly present." Did that also mean he still... No, it couldn't be! Unable to believe it without seeing it for himself, Varen jerked up suddenly from his bed, prompting a now frightened and worried expression on his face as he hastily removed the bandages and the padding that kept itself over his forehead. That's when he saw it in mirror just beyond the foot of his bed, the grisly aftermath of the gunshot wound still very much noticeable; a burrowed hole straight through, leading into his functioning brain. It was a sight that left him unable to speak, his lip quivering with fear as his eyes shook with disgust and anger.
"It's also how I discovered that you were an Omen." She'd momentarily pause as Varen shifted his gaze from their reflection and back onto her. "It was already suspect that you were because of what you were able to endure, yet, these suspicions were confirmed when I analyzed your DNA through touch. Your genetic code is not 'natural', at least not for a Human." This ability to weave through her own and others biological make-up and manipulate had allowed her not only to figure this out but it was utilized during surgery to help him survive. "Unfortunately us Omens have our limits, we're not as 'immortal' as people think we are. if I were to have followed through with trying to remedy these wounds completely then it would've been to much for your body to stand, you would've died..." Akin to regular surgeons without power, operations that involved brain trauma or any significant injury for that matter had to be taken with extreme caution and delicacy, for the sake of the patient's life. Although she already knew this fact, Varen's reaction to what has become of him had made Vanessa wish she could've tried more, even if it was impossible for her to have done so. "I'm sorry." Just as she was about to offer her hand to his shoulder to comfort him, a cluster of security guards that were alerted by the hospital's inoperative sentry turrets came sprinting through the walkway just outside of the room. This odd scene was enough for her to rush outside of Varen's room to check what was going on, that's when more disaster had struck like a spell of continuous bad luck. The noisy, repetitive 'beeps' of an alarm sounded off in one of the patients rooms nearby; a frightening indication that the medical equipment that the patient inside was using had been malfunctioning, inducing the panic of doctors and nurses to rush towards the location including Vanessa as well as she knew that this patient was at risk of dying if she didn't act fast to save their life. Without hesitating she'd bolt down in the direction of where the alarms were coming from, speeding briskly past the doctors and nurses as well as one of the administrative offices that introduced a very curious creature that creaked open the door leading inside, a fluffy face belonging to Olwen (Vanessa's Snow Leopard) had popped itself out of the room; clearly just having been awakened by the noise as shown by his excessive yawning. The torpor he exhibited was short-lived once he noticed Vanessa running by, bringing him on full-alert after shaking off his sleepiness. Believing there was trouble afoot, Olwen hurtled out of the room at such a pace that he'd briefly skid across the polished LVT flooring of the hallway, almost crashing into a couple of the hospital staff before dashing behind Vanessa and following her into the one patient's room.
Medical personnel that were already inside before Vanessa and Olwen had been trying to figure out what was going on while also doing their best to stabilize the man on the bed whose vital signs on the nearby equipment were going completely bonkers, giving inaccurate and ridiculous readings. "W-what is g-going on?! The monitors are acting all buggy!" One nurse clamored as they kept their hand on the patient's wrist, desperately trying to read their pulse in the ongoing chaos. "The AED machine isn't working either!" A doctor hollered, realizing it was broken as they were trying to prepare it in case the patient was at risk of a cardiac arrest because of their already diagnosed heart condition. "Stand back, all of you! I'll take it from here! Check on the others, I'll tend to this one!" Vanessa charged into the room and had professional taken control of the disorder that was happening around her, the last thing they needed was confusion as that would've only made things worse. Nodding in obedience under the Healthcare Director's orders, the staff proceeded to disperse from the room and provide care to any of the patients close by who might've been having the same issues with their medical equipment. "Looks like i'll have to see what's going on for myself." She'd clasp her hands together as she approached the bedside of the patient, both her palms radiated a verdant glow as she brought them into contact with the patient's chest. Their biological powers had quickly rooted out any issues that were happening including the false readings, any lack of oxygen or blood that failed to be distributed throughout their body were now being produced in significance as Vanessa had multiplied their red blood cells. Meanwhile as she was tending to the comatose man, Olwen was thoroughly surveying the room after catching a whiff of something, an unfamiliar presence that was not of Human origin, it was if he'd smelt another 'animal' close-by and now his predatory hunting skills had kicked in.
Sooner or later he'd find the impudent boy responsible for all of this mess, their baleful sight honing in on the window that gave a clear-view of Churi's cheeky, gleeful expression. Even though Vanessa was none the wiser of Churi's existence, Olwen had made her aware that something was amiss by emitting a low-pitched growl that rumbled from the depths of their throat as they skulked their way towards the window with their eyes dialed in on Churi. "Olwen, is something wrong?" It was probably very likely that Churi had noticed this very large Snow Leopard staring him down but it was far too late for him to make an escape as seconds after Vanessa had spoke, Olwen bolted towards the window with a deafening roar before leaping at the glass with its claws outstretched and sharpened rows of fangs on full display. "Olwen no!" Fearing for the safety of her beast, Vanessa brought one of her hands off the patient's chest and outstretched her palm towards Olwen whose body would now faintly gleam with the same verdant green that was being discharged from its owner's hands. Suddenly the creature's skin and flesh would resemble the properties of granite, allowing for it to effortlessly smash straight through the glass of the window without injury. As it came mere inches away from Churi's face, a vast cluster of blackened tendrils would burst out from its midsection, tearing through small portions of the granite that had composed its body and allowing for Olwen to latch onto Churi's physique with these tentacles as they wrapped around him, constricting him like a snake. Eventually the two would come crashing down towards the outside parking area of the hospital where they'd gracelessly crash through the sturdy metal back-end of a parked MediSTAT ambulance.
