"Oh good you can here me,so where we going and you said it only works for an hour at a time?" Winifred asked him,"what if I only talked to you once then stopped and started again later?" She asked as she followed him in her wolf form. She let out a sneeze and huffed. She hated sneezing. She sniffed around for a snack,her wolf form was always hungry. She stopped sniffing the air her hair raised up as she heard footsteps near the gates of the house. Winifred was always on guard.

"Yes that would work. Do it on and off. Like a candle. Use it as you need it and it last longer. Range is limited to about 125 feet though." Said Fabian who had his back turned on the noise and with human hearing couldn't hear a thing. "What is it?"

Winifred sighed and went to look out the window in her wolf form."someone is at the gate looking to get in. Want me to see or do you want to look?" She asked her tongue hung out of her mouth as she yawned. She looked back at him and tried to see what he would say.

"I'll handle this." Said Fabian as he peered out the window and barely bad out a shape. He headed down the stairs and opened the door slowly. "Hello there. Might I be of help?"

Winifred followed him down in her wolf form. She growled low and watched the man in front of them. The man nods to him and spots Winifred."Hi I am.. woah what the hell is that you own a wolf?" He said. Winifred looked up at the man and barked."well at least he is scared of me." She said to Fabian. "Sorry I just saw that the chimney was in use. I came to see who moved in my place is down the road."he said

"Names Fabian." He said Offering a hand out to her and shook her's. He then turned a thumb to Winifred. "That's Winifred. She is sweet unless she doesn't like you. Shouldn't be an issue though. You don't look like a crook."

"Umm she is a wolf. You have a wolf as a pet." The man asked."she won't Attack?" he said."I am just a neighbor I swear my family wanted to invite you for dinner." He said. Winifred growled not seeing. Where the mans hand were going. She stepped forward feeling a hand on her fur. Winifred looked at Fabian and stayed back."My name is Luke Ambrose." He said holding up one hand and his other hand out."please don't let your wolf eat me."He said

"Winifred down. It is all right." Said Fabian as he rested his hand on her shoulder trying to act as though he was calming her. "So dinner you say? Well it has been a while since I have been around company. I'll take you up on the offer. But in return your family will have to dine with me as well."

Winifred sat down and looked at Fabian. She growled,but stayed silent she didn't trust this man."I don't trust him something is off." She said in Fabians head."yes of course so tomorrow night, you can bring anyone you want even this." He said to Winifred. She growled and he jumped. She stayed put though. He backed for the door,"formal wear see you at 8 tomorrow evening." He said

"Very well. I will meet you here." Said Fabian as he lead himself and Winifred back into the house so they could talk. "You very well may be right but we can't stay holed up being cautious of every person. We have to act normal, be as if we were one with them."

Winifred snorted and watched the man half run out of the place. She turned to Fabian and barked."He smells off, so I guess your taking me as a wolf then since that is what he saw me as." She said."staying holed up no, but don't put your self in a position where the target is on you." She said in his mind."I don't want you harmed." She said.

"Yeah I'll have you as my wolf." Said Fabian as he took a seat in front of the fire place. "I agree. We'll keep our eyes peeled and drink only water. Okay maybe only water."

Winifred layed at his feet. More so on them to keep him warm."careful what you eat and drink.make sure you keep an eye on your drink and who ever passes it." She said and curled up at his feet. She closed her eyes enjoying the warmth.

Before Fabian knew it he was asleep. A soft gentle snoring could be heard. He was more comfortable than he thought he would be but being as tired as he was a pile of rocks would have felt nice.

Winifred woke in the morning yawning. She sighed and stood shaking her fur. She looked around the fire had died. She yawned and nudged Fabian awake and put her head in his lap. She gave his face a good washing with her tongue.

It took Fabian a few minutes to wake up and when he did he wiped the salivia off his face. "Well good morning to you too. Are you saying I should bathe?"

She barked and looked at him."maybe a little, my wolf form enjoyed the salt I licked off your face." She said in his mind."though I should probably bathe as well." She said in his mind and yawned. She jumped down and looked at the door."door please I need a run." She said

"Sure thing." Said Fabian as he opened the door. "While you run I am going to get cleaned up. I'll fix breakfast when I finish."

She ran out and sniffed the area she marked scent marks. Winifred made sure no one was around. She went back in and went to bathe. She dressed after she dried off and went downstairs. "So how did you sleep?"she asked

"Pretty well." Said Fabian who had emerged from the bath minutes before Winifred got in. "That chair is very comfortable. So we have nothing to do until the dinner tonight. Do as you want."

Evening rolled around and Fabian had already changed into nicer clothes for the evening's events. Free dinner was at hand and that was something he wouldn't turn down easily although he was on high alert as he knew Winifred would be. Adjusting a tie as he hit the las step he smiled at her. "Well I am ready. Our host should be coming to collect us soon. I'll make sure you get fed there as well."

Winifred had spent the day checking the boarder in her human form. She was not sure what was wrong but something was. She went in around a hour before the man was supposed to get them. She went and bathed. Winifred dryed off and changed into her wolf form, her fur was as clean as she was when she showered. She layed at the bottom of the stairs and looked up when he came down."oh good food I am hungry." She whined slightly. Her head turned as she heard footsteps."He is here."she said to Fabian

Fabian opened the door before the man could knock and smiled. "Evening. It is perhaps a good thing I don't know exactly which house is yours. Otherwise we might have been there far to early."

"Yes come the carriage is waiting,do you um have a leash for that thing?" He pointed to Winifred and Winifred growled at him. She showed her teeth.
