~Arietta/Jayke~

"They're absolutely fascinating, aren't they? Did you see that girl's eyes, too? They were brown! Brown! Absolutely stunning, right? Of course, your sister's eyes are brown, aren't they? But it was a different shade of brown! Like...a deep, chestnut sort of brown! Incredible!" Arietta rambled as she walked alongside Jayke, who honestly looked as if he wanted to shoot himself. The girl had been talking non-stop since the two left to fetch the people at Hawthorne, and the man was at the end of his rope. "...and Liam's hair changed, didn't it? It's all grey now...I didn't know hair could be grey! Simply amazing! I wonder what they're like...do you think they're all as nice as Liam? That woman with the mask seemed a little grumpy...and how about the girl who fainted? She scared the life out of me! Do you think she did it on purpose? I doubt it...I mean, she passed out! Well, so did I, but that doesn't mean--"

"Arietta!" Jayke snapped, grabbing the woman's shoulder and turning her towards him. He leaned in, his nose nearly touching hers, and growled, "Shut. Up. You haven't stopped talking since we left Du'rocke. I can't take it anymore. I'm willing to lead a whole fleet of strangers into our town, Ari, but I am not about to listen to your rambling the WHOLE WAY there!"

Arietta pouted, and then pulled away from the man. As she continued walking, she muttered, "Sorry. I'm just excited! There's so much to learn about them, I mean, do you think they know how to play any instruments? Do they even have instruments whe--"

Jayke shot a nasty look at the woman, which shut her up.

As the two hiked up the steep hill, Hawthorne slowly came into view. Arietta had to bite her tongue to keep herself from
ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the newcomers again. Jayke was grateful for that. Once the two came to the gate, Arietta wasn't nearly as timid as she had been when she'd first gone through it. She was practically skipping towards the Main Hall as Jayke took his own sweet time to follow her. Arietta slipped through the doors, and her confidence went up in flames. There were so many of them. Jayke came through the doors not long after the girl, and immediately frowned.

"Du'rocke is ready when you are." he announced bitterly as Arietta slowly made her way behind him.

Mirabelle Ami

A girl's voice faded into Ami's hearing from over the horizon. "Sorry. I'm just excited! There's so much to learn about them, I mean, do you think they know how to play any instruments? Do they even have instruments whe--" Suddenly the voice had gone quiet. Odd. "Du'rocke is ready when you are." Ami shifted her gaze to a boy and a girl standing side by side - She knew the boy was named Jayke, as he had been called by name, and the girl was called... Ari-wind? Ari-el? Ari... Something. She seemed nice enough, Ami knew that much... And the voice that had been talking moments before definitely belonged to her.

Maybe I wouldn't mind teaching Miss Excited some basic human knowledge, Ami thought. It might be fun, and it might score me some points with the surprisingly hot guy. Ami glanced Jayke over once, then moved her gaze back to Ari-something. Ami stepped forward and over to Ari- Screw it, the girl, and offered a friendly smile as she did so. "Hey, this might sound a bit, er, strange, but do you have any questions about us? Humans, I mean," Ami asked. "If you have questions, I probably have answers."

(Short post is short, sorry... But it's something, at least.)

Luke had seated himself rather spontaneously on the ground, with a thud his posterior nestled itself along the hard surface. Noticing as the hair fell down along his brow, the Irishman realized how long it actually was. Although short for some long for others, his mother would have had a heart ache if she looked upon the heap of curly locks. In all his honesty, he felt like he needed a haircut too; long hair and a beard didn't really tend to work appearance wise in his humble opinion. I'm surprising myself a lot recently, to think I never was one for appearances I'm thinking about my hair! What this school has done to me...the man thought with a smirk as he brushed the strands to one side. But who could give him the haircut he so desperately sought? Who could cut his signature, looping locks in the way he imagined them to be clipped? Such questions were so trivial to the current situation yet he found himself posing the same question to himself internally for the next few minutes with no answer in sight. Then he realized after some time that considering the fact that they were setting off on a journey to the village of Du'rocke, there was more hope then doubt in inside his little head that they did have hairdressers there. Or whatever they're called in Oclodianese. You're being a self-centred bastard, cop the hell on Luke, was the mental chastisement that came the way of the man surnamed Bell as the arrival of two of the elvish-looking race came through the door.

"Du'rocke is ready when you are."

The lad did not seem happy at all according to the perspective of Luke. The frown was almost instantaneous at the sight of all those gathered in the hall, as if informing of the events to come was something that tore him up inside. The woman, the infamous one that brought the two races together along with Kahra slowly but surely made her way into the hall with a certain meekness displayed quite explicitly. For all he knew about anything, women was something that evaded his knowledge. In all his years on this planet, not once has he ever had a 'girlfriend', or whatever people called their spouse that they have not yet married. The term was alien to him, something that he understand but felt so distant from it that felt like grasping at air when looking for a person. A lot of the lads at home in Ireland regularly made fun of him for being so isolated, for not branching out into have relationships with women even if it was only to be friends. Now of all times, he realized that he wasn't exactly the most friendly to person to look at, sporting a beard with a face that appeared as if he was going into a fight for his life. Maybe that was an exaggeration in his eyes but that's what he honestly felt like at the moment. Would that ever change? With a bit of luck, Hawthorne had made interaction with the other sex that much easier despite his shyness. A lot of the time, Luke would stop himself from staring at women walking by, to refrain himself from feeling anything towards them. Simply because he was waiting for the 'One', whoever that may be.

Indeed he found himself staring at the one named Arietta, her features very prominent and otherwise outstanding in the sense that they were unique to the women here. It was strange that he concentrated on her, what was it about her that enthused his eyes to keep staring? Was it her hair? The ears, the eyes?! He wanted to know, he needed, to know. Feeling like this...it was utterly strange to feel like this; and he wanted to know why he felt like this. But it meant that there was only thing he could do. Luke would stare intently at her for the next few minutes, to see if he could provoke a reaction from her.

~Jayke/Arietta~

Arietta squirmed uncomfortably as she looked around, trying to find Juniper or Joel. She tucked a strange of hair behind her pointed ear, and then stuck out her bottom lip. She was nervous...mostly because she really didn't know much about humans. What were they capable of? Could they hurt her if they wanted to? What if she offended them?

The girl let out a long sigh, and at that moment, she noticed something. A boy...a human boy. He appeared to be staring right at her, which just made the girl grow more flustered. Her eyes darted away from him, but she found her gaze slowly going back to the boy. She tilted her head slightly as she brushed a strand of hair away from her face.

"Hey, this might sound a bit, er, strange, but do you have any questions about us? Humans, I mean.
If you have questions, I probably have answers."

Jayke and Arietta both looked up at the same moment as the girl spoke. The Oclodian woman's face lit up as Jayke's face fell. Arietta took a deep breath, about to unleash a wave of obvious questions when the man clapped a hand over the gatherer's mouth. Arietta squirmed for a moment, and then pouted.

Before Ami could say anything, Jayke sighed, "I just did you a favor, believe me."

Arietta squirmed violently against her friend's hold, but of course it was no use. She was no match for his strength...well, she was no match for anyone's strength. She was about as harmless as a pink butterfly caught in a marshmallow. When Jayke finally let go, the girl went sprawling onto the floor, her instrument flying from under her arm and onto the floor.

Mars was leaning against a wall near the entrance of the main hall, absentmindedly flipping through the pages of his physics book, letting out a disappointed sigh as he snapped the book shut and placed it on the ground with the history book and class notes he had with him. He'd already read through everything that was in his bag, so the only thing he had left was his battle notes and some food, leaving him with even less than he originally though he had. "I hope that the Oclodians have something in english I can read." he mumbled as his hands were brought up behind his head, tapping the ground with the toe of his shoe. Without anything to read, Mars just hoped that Du'rocke would be interesting enough to satiate his interest. Still, even if it didn't he could always spend whatever free time there was with Lyra so he wouldn't be bored out of his mind, so it wasn't like he had nothing to do.

"Du'rocke is ready when you are."

Mars' attention was brought to the male Oclodian who spoke with a tone that didn't sound very enthusiastic, along with the female from earlier who was cowering behind him. The guy definitely seemed more professional and business-like about everything, and whether that was because of disdain for everything or just how he was didn't matter much to Mars. What mattered was getting along with these people well enough and not making things unnecessarily difficult in the future.

As Mars prepared to approach the two, he hesitated when Ami beat him to the punch. Too many people confronting them may be uncomfortable for the Oclodians present. Still, he really wanted to get an early relationship started with these new people, become the go-to human to talk to besides the teachers. After all, besides maybe Lyra he thought as himself as the best person to represent the school. He was the smarts and determination while his girlfriend was the enthusiasm and the caring nature, and considering the nature of the situation it seemed better to not be overly enthusiastic and possibly scare the Oclodians, meaning he probably WAS the best. Of course, it could have just been his ego speaking, but he just ignored that possibility as he approached the two, the girl falling on the floor as he did so.

It didn't sound like he butted in on an extremely important conversation between the male and Ami, so Mars simply began speaking in his normal, slightly professional slightly friendly tone as he said, "Sorry if I'm interrupting something, but I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself since we're going to be occupying your hometown so unexpectedly. Names Mars, and if you need any help with anything or have any questions once we arrive in Du'rocke don't be afraid to ask. I understand that having people you know nothing about suddenly taken into your hometown can be a bit difficult to handle, so I'll do my best to make things easier. " Mars extended a hand, hoping these people knew what a handshake was. He knew that sometimes his little spiels could sound a little too robotic and what he was saying would probably be better suited for whoever was in charge at Du'rocke, but every step in getting closer to the Oclodians helped. He also hoped that the guy wouldn't be too caught off guard or annoyed by the sudden appearance of Mars.

Juniper chuckled when Arietta 'corrected' her saying that her Lyre was an instrument and not a weapon. However she stopped when she told her she had more credibility and that she should stay here to protect Joel so she should stay here. Nodding her head and silently agreeing with her Juniper turned around and waved at her brother, her smile repearring.

Timeskip

Juniper didn't mind the stares she got, however she stayed close to Joel who still seemed shaken. Normally she had no tolerance for the weak however Joel was putting up his best effort. There was a difference between being weak and putting forth your best effort. However that didn't stop her from exploring the school for a bit. Everything was so fascinating, from the humans, to the clothes they wore, and the basic structure of the school. While exploring Juniper saw Arietta and Jayke along with two other people they're back! Running up to them Juniper stopped when she saw Jayke cover Arietta's mouth thus making her struggle against Jayke's hold until he let her go and she face planted on the floor and her instrument consequently flew on the floor.

Seeing this Juniper burst out laughing until her sides hurt and she was crying. She managed to regain her bearing but was still chucking somewhat. Picking up Arietta's instrument Arietta strummed it, making the most awful sound imaginable. Juniper sucked at playing as she was just bad at it and never bothered to learn to play.

"Nice one Arietta, that was almost as bad as me playing an instrument," Arietta commented while peering down at Arietta's limp form. However she looked back at a newcomer when he introduced himself, he seemed a bit too professional and self conceited but it was just an impression she got. Waving it off Juniper smiled at Mars and shook his hand, her grip unintentionally strong.

"Nice to meet ya, I'm Juniper!"

Jayke raised an eyebrow, taking his attention from Juniper's laughing to the boy who'd approached him. The Oclodian was slightly confused when the human extended his hand, and just stared at it. It was obvious that Jayke was intended to do something with it...but what? The man stared at the hand for a moment, and then lightly swatted it.

Close enough, right?

"You're coming to my village." he snorted. "Of course I'll need to ask some questions."

(Bad post! Really really really REALLY sorry!!!)

~Rafaela~

Rafaela was a curious person, so it wasn't a surprise when she made little noises to everything that came across her. Everything was so different. And those Oclodians... Fascinating beings, so different but yet so similar to humans. She had so many questions, however, it did not seen like the best moment to drown the Oclodians with questions, since they were being so friendly. Raph knew how clueless she could be when making someone uncomfortable. If not, they were the ones to question the humans, after all, that was their village. Rafaela watched as Ami approached the Oclodians, soon Mars doing the same. Oh, oh, how eager was she to go and talk to them as well, but she managed to keep her feet glued to the ground. Unconsciously, she played with the deck of cards once again, finding them to be a good distraction. And maybe, just maybe, one of the Oclodians would come to her to ask about the cards. Yes, perfect plan. She thought to herself. Well, she was dessperate to talk to them, so it was excusable.

(I'm sorry, another short post. I know.)

"You're coming to my village. Of course I'll need to ask some questions."

Mars cringed slightly upon hearing the response, unhappy with what he got. It was pretty clear now that it wasn't an air of professionalism that surrounded the Oclodian, but one of contempt. The male obviously wasn't very pleased that humans were going to his village, which would make getting along with this particular one very difficult for Mars. Even with that, he wasn't sure if slapping his handshake was a sign of refusal, or just a sign of not knowing what a handshake was. Taking a short breath, Mars maintained his original composure and said, "Well, I'll do my best to answer them fully and with enough detail to satisfy your curiosity." He found himself internally dying slightly inside. Even though he often acted similar to this when talking to new students at the beginning of a school year, it was much more casual as they were students just like him. This made him feel like some sort of butler, a role he definitely didn't associate with himself.

Mars suddenly felt his hand get strongly grasped, turning to face the person who did so. He recognized the Oclodian as the one who had the bow during the little confrontation in the hall. Mars looked her over quickly, examining her stature. She wasn't very tall, though she didn't seem young. Her facial features looked like that of a teenager, and her body seemed well developed, so he assumed she was in the same age range as him. Maybe being short was normal for Oclodian females? He sure hoped that this girl wasn't young, as it felt like she was crushing his hand. Geez, is this some kind of Oclodian death grip or something?

"Nice to meet ya, I'm Juniper!"

Mars smiled back at Juniper, this time a genuine smile. He was relieved that at the very least this one wasn't as...hostile as the male. Maybe he wouldn't need to be as professional when talking to her, as it seemed like she was a lot more enthusiastic. "Well Juniper," he started, lightly trying to pull his hand from her grasp to no avail, "just like I told this guy, have any questions or need any help and I'll gladly assist you. I hope that the two of us get along well." He was now gently prying at her hand with his free hand as he tried to loosen her grip without seeming aggressive. Mars was never really the strongest nor did he feel he needed strength, but he sure felt like a little more muscle would be great at the moment. Sure, theoretically he could tear her hand off of his, but that would look and seem violent and possibly upset Juniper, and he'd much prefer not to anger any of the Oclodians very much. He looked back up at her, still prying, and said, "Also, could you maybe loosen your grip a bit? You're kind of crushing my hand."

Juniper beamed when Mars returned her hand shake, he seemed to stern and civil for being so young but Juniper figured that he was just being polite and that he'd warn up to them eventually, besides he seemed pretty cool and since he was a human he had to have some interesting stories to tell, like Liam did. Wow does this mean Mars and I are friends now? This is so exciting, another human friend! Because Juniper was so caught up in her joyful mental rant she didn't notice Mars's hand try to struggle out of her grip until he asked her to loosen it.

"Whoops sorry about that," Juniper apologized, letting go of his hand.

Turning back to Jayke she crossed her arms and gave him a bit of a glare. "You're supposed to shake his hand not swat it! Honestly if you actually associated with Liam when he visited our village you would have a much easier time with humans," Juniper huffed.

Going back to Mars Juniper couldn't help but scan him over, he was a lot taller than her for starters and he had short red orange hair. Now Juniper has seen red and even green hair, but not hair that was bordering orange. Normally this wouldn’t be that interesting, after all it was just red hair with a slight orange tint, but Juniper had a fascination with humans so even this small detail was like finding buried treasure.

"Your hair is amazing! Is it natural because I heard that people sometimes dye there hair a different color...hey you and me should have lunch together some time, I have this stash of oranges that are fresh picked, or are you more of an apple person? I have apples to!" Juniper gushed.

A physical reaction was the only thing that mustered out of the man called Luke after the squirming, falling and released lyre that fell across the floor. Sure but slowly he contemplated his actions, ridding himself of the stare that went in the direction of the male Oclodian after the little interaction with his female counterpart. Why...why did I do that? was the inquiry that wafted around his head with a palm to the face as a sign of his annoyance, confusion anything you could use to describe plan and utter frazzled brain. Of course, if it was someone he knew that was being picked on then such a reaction would have been the least he'd expect; the Irishman would be lucky if he didn't head all the way up there and powerbomb the little man. But to for a woman he didn't even know? An Oclodian at that? How could he even trust these people? How could he know if they weren't just softening them up for the kill?

He didn't, yet the only thing he could do was a give a rather venomous, malice-filled stare at the man called Jayke. What was the woman's name? One of them was named Juniper, the one I was staring at...Ariel? No, that's not it...Arietta, that's it! he mental murmured to himself with a great degree of satisfaction after searching through the doldrums of his mind for the name. Indeed, it was a pretty name, not one that he had ever heard before. But the man surnamed Bell finally found a reason for his erratic behaviour; he just adored the fact that she was paying attention to him.

Of all the reasons to get upset by something, anything was because someone was messing with the somebody that was looking at you. If anyone was going to get physically emotional by a situation such as this, it would be Luke Bell. As a child, having people pay attention to him was one of his deficits. Thus, his personal war against inattention began, doing all manners of silliness and childishness to gain even the most disapproving stare, as long they were staring at him. No matter how much annoyance was evident in that one gaze, if they were paying the slightest bit of heed to his being, it was something that he appreciated. But it was typically with people with people that he actually knew, not with complete strangers of an alien race. Well, alien was bit harsh, more so that the pointed-ears was really the only difference between the two beside the rather notable difference in height. I'm thinking too hard about this...was the notion put forth by the logical side of his brain as he took another look at the woman. He had to stop thinking like this, concentrating about women too much wasn't the thing he needed at this moment. Looking at her one last time, a little wave as the action to show he wasn't going to fluster her anymore then he already had; soon closing his eyes with a hand to support his wandering, thinking noggin.

"She was beautiful indeed," he murmured to himself with a sigh, "But I'm not one for love, nor will I ever be. Loveless is what I might call myself from now on! Now that I think about it, wasn't there an anime called Loveless? Cat ears or something of that nature, also I believe it was a yaoi anime too...What am I doing?! Trying to get a person out of your head is rather difficult isn't it? There has to be something I can do to start thinking about her, something, anything at all. Now of all times is not a time to start thinking about women. You could have done that a few months ago but no, now you pick the time don't you? Get a hold of yourself Luke, it's just one woman. You've met many at Hawthorne, what makes her so different?"

~Arietta~

Arietta shakily pushed herself off the floor with her arms, dizzily flopping back onto her knees. She could hear Juniper's laughter in the backround, but the gatherer didn't really pay much mind to it. The empty space under her arm where her lyre usually sat put a pit in her stomach, she the girl immediately started looking around for it. Her expression slowly grew more concerned as the instrument didn't come into view. Bringing herself up to a stand, the woman gave a slight pout. When she heard her instrument be strummed, she immediately spun around, her expression absolutely horrified.

"Nice one Arietta, that was almost as bad as me playing an instrument,"

Arietta immediately snatched it back, her eyes narrowed as she squeaked, "DON'T! You aren't allowed to play this!"

As she looked up, she noticed a boy, the same one who'd caught her attention before, talking to himself. Was that a common habit among humans? Why was he doing that? He was only speaking in a quiet mutter, and she couldn't make out what he was saying, but it was still strange to her.

~Jayke~

"Well, I'll do my best to answer them fully and with enough detail to satisfy your curiosity."

Jayke felt the corners of his mouth pull down as the boy said the words, and was about to turn his back when he could hear the familiar laughter of his younger sister fill the air.

"Nice to meet ya, I'm Juniper!"

Jayke almost cringed at his sister's friendliness towards the stranger, and was almost amused by the fact that not even five hours earlier she was threatening to put an arrow through someone's stomach. He crossed his arms, leaning back on a wall as he watched the two make conversation.

"You're supposed to shake his hand not swat it! Honestly if you actually associated with Liam when he visited our village you would have a much easier time with humans,"

Jayke gave his eyes a slight roll and said, "Hey, don't scold me, little sister. I was the only one who had their head on straight when he came...and geez, that was ten years ago."

"Your hair is amazing! Is it natural because I heard that people sometimes dye there hair a different color...hey you and me should have lunch together some time, I have this stash of oranges that are fresh picked, or are you more of an apple person? I have apples to!"

Jayke felt his eye twitch.

~Lyra~

"I don't know, but I'm gonna need more clothes... And a new bed."

Lyra didn't know whether she should smile or frown at that. The President gently pat Gwen's shoulder and said, "Hey, feel free to grab some of my stuff. Some of it will probably fit you, right? I'm going to head back down to the Main Hall, okay? Come find me when you're finished up here."

Lyra readjusted her bag on her shoulder and then exited through the frame where a door used to be hinged. It didn't take her long to reach the Main Hall, and it didn't take her long to see that the other two Oclodians were back. Turning her head, Lyra could see that right by the door, Mars was talking to two Oclodians. The two elven-like people honestly resembled eachother enough to be siblings...twins, even. The girl almost smiled at how enthusiastic the female Oclodian was...and she almost frowned at how grumpy the male looked.

"DON'T! You aren't allowed to play this!"

Luke's snapped unceremoniously open after the little outburst that reverberated throughout the room; very similar to the one the day before that brought the two races together. Considering it wasn't Kahra, the only possibility of whom the screech came forth from was the Oclodian named Arietta. Noticing a few moments again a little strum was strung on the little lyre, the Irishman felt a bit sick after hearing it but he couldn't really complain nor could he comment. The only instruments he could actually play were the tin whistle and the recorder. Hardly a repertoire of the greats but he would like to consider himself satisfactory in the art of whistling through tin. But to have such a reaction to someone touching your lyre albeit playing it, the implement must have a lot of sentimental value. Could he blame for acting the way she did? Not really. Could he blame her for being so loud? Probably. Of course there are various means to vent your frustration at thing but being loud was one Luke's most least desirable ways of doing so. Showing a clenched fist or a face full of fury where arguably better choices. But everything was said and done, he can't reverse time to stop her from yelling to way she did. It would be a waste of going back in time to do something, maybe he could use it to correct the moment he first took a glance at her. That might have been a better choice, considering the way she made him feel at this particular moment in time.

Hefting himself from the ground that he was so happily nestled to, Luke felt around his beard. Noting how he actually looked, the man surnamed Bell would like to think that he would appear as a nice person despite his stern appearance. Never judge a book by it's cover but when the cover is a burly, annoyed-looking cover, would you just put it back on the shelf or take a read of what it's saying? He would hope that she would appear as the latter although the former action wouldn't exactly be something completely surprising. Over the past few months, Luke realized that his usual face was switching from his light-hearted smile to a stoic, firm face that very few people would actually like to associate with. He wouldn't himself that was for sure! The rapid growth of facial hair didn't really help the matter, making him seem even more unapproachable as the days went on. But what could he do? It's not as if he could stop the natural processes of life and if he was honest with himself, he really enjoyed having a beard. If his mother would see him now, there would be a razor stuck to every finger with about twenty cans of foam sashed along her body. Now that would be a funny sight! was the first thought that the entered his mind as he made his way on up to the area where the two Oclodians were currently standing, unintentionally looming over the two of them. They were a small race in every sense of the word. Looking down upon the one named Arietta, he began his non-serious reprimand that would eventually blow up in his face.

"I don't mean to be rude," his deep voice began which only added to the combustible element that his chastisement, "But I'd appreciate, if not the rest of the students if you kept your voice down. Considering what the whole lot of them went through yesterday, some piece an quiet would be seldom seen around here for sometime. I know I might somewhat mad, looking somewhat unfriendly but I'm a good person at heart, hopefully you can see that. Sorry for disturbing you..."

With the message ended, he headed back t his position with a satisfied smirk on his face.

"I don't mean to be rude, but I'd appreciate, if not the rest of the students if you kept your voice down. Considering what the whole lot of them went through yesterday, some piece an quiet would be seldom seen around here for sometime. I know I might somewhat mad, looking somewhat unfriendly but I'm a good person at heart, hopefully you can see that. Sorry for disturbing you..."

Arietta spun around, almost shocked at how the boy seemingly appeared out of nowhere. She almost reflexively took a few steps back, her eyes wide. She hugged the stringed instrument to her chest as she looked him over. It was slightly pathetic, really. The girl looked towards Jayke and Juniper, who'd been joined by another girl, and then back at the person who'd addressed her. She took another step back, staring up at him with a heartbreaking, pathetic expression. The girl looked down at her feet, not saying a word. She couldn't think of anything to say! What could she say? That she was sorry?

"I-I-I'm sorry." she squeaked, gripping her lyre even tighter.

"I-I-I'm sorry."

Luke heard it as he walking away, how weak and scared it sounded. Did he really sound that menacing, that cold, that...intimidating? The Irishman would never, ever consider himself to be a person that would do such things like appearing as callous to others. But people change, and as much as he hated to admit, he was one of those people. But when you're a DID-stricken man with voices that constantly urging you to do the insufferable, overwhelming-nasty thing that they constantly suggest, it's hard not to become a bit more serious. But he didn't like the way he made the woman feel at all, not in the slightest bit. The way she cradled that lyre, the way she clutched the instrument with such a face, it broke him inside somewhat. Not enough for him to start crying oh no, but enough for him to question himself incessantly for the next few moments in an attempt to correct that mistake. But what could he say to her? That he was sorry for speaking the way he did at the moment in time? That would be the best thing to do but what if he frightened her some more? What if she so frightened already that she wouldn't see him eye-to-eye? These were the details that Luke went over whether he wanted to or not. It was just in his nature to fret around the way he always did with little or no correction in sight. That's something that will never change about me, he mentally murmured to himself as he turned on the spot before looking in the direction of Arietta.

Even from seeing her for the first time unconscious after the little debacle with Kahra, he felt something strange towards her. Although she was from being what he expected, she was a very beautiful in all fairness to the Oclodian. Her petite frame only made him want to hug her and never let her go. Not something the average person would think about meeting a being from an unknown that may or may not possess the ability to kill his own kin with ease. Of all things, why a hug you may ask? Well the answer is simple because the man simply just loves his hugs. Nothing more, nothing less. Also, the fact that she was something that he'd never experienced before provoked a natural intrigue which he would expect from almost everyone at Hawthorne. And from judging from the way the two races gelled with each other, it only helped to further that presumption. Considering that the Otherworld History teach Liam was there only helped set the premise for the two to meet. But he also felt a bit of heat rise into his cheeks whenever he gazed at her, although this wasn't something uncommon considering women were as alien to him as the denizens of Du'rocke were. It seemed incredibly to think in such a way, but that was his honest opinion that was getting altered the same way his personality was. With all that preparation out of the way, he made his way up to were the woman was standing with his male counterpart with a heavy heart.

"I'm sorry if I came off as harsh, I never meant too," he said with a hopefully-reassuring smile, "My name is Luke by the way, Luke Bell. I'm one of the quieter of these lot, but I suppose there has to be someone!"

~Arietta~

"I'm sorry if I came off as harsh, I never meant to."

Arietta glanced back up, and was actually slightly reassured by his small smile. She was just glad that he'd made it clear that he was friendly...well, friendly enough. The girl loosened her arms around her lyre, and then moved it back to its usual place under her arm. The girl bit her lip, and then smiled back at him.

"My name is Luke by the way, Luke Bell. I'm one of the quieter of these lot, but I suppose there has to be someone!"

"L-Luke Bell." she repeated quietly. She paused for a moment, her eyes drifting to the floor. She glanced back up at him, and then slowly extended her hand. That's what humans did, right? What was it called? A hand...jiggle? A hand...grab? She didn't know, but hopefully she was doing it right.

"Arietta...b-but you can call me Ari, i-if you want. Xux seem zi cirau--oh, I'm sorry! I-I mean, you seem v-very kind." she stuttered. "All is well, yes?"

"Your hair is amazing! Is it natural because I heard that people sometimes dye there hair a different color...hey you and me should have lunch together some time, I have this stash of oranges that are fresh picked, or are you more of an apple person? I have apples to!"

Mars took a step back as he was barraged with a flurry of questions and statements, caught off guard by the amount of enthusiasm this girl had. Well, Juniper definitely wasn't the shy type, though whether that was good or not was yet to be seen. "Whoa, slow down a bit there." Mars uttered as he raised his hands as if to defend himself from her words, "I'm not going anywhere, so just turn it down a notch, okay?" He let out a laugh as he brought his hands back down by his sides and relaxed.

Running a hand through his hair, Mars softly chuckled. "Thanks for noticing it, though this is pretty hard to miss considering the colour." He was pretty proud of his fire red hair, and even though he wasn't one to care about looks (Though he did start to take notice in appearance and how something looked more once he started dating Lyra), his hair was one of those things he took pride in him. It felt good for someone to compliment him on it, but then again, what wasn't amazing about him? "This hair is all natural, nothing added. I don't really believe in dying my hair, seems too fake to me."

"Also, I don't mind having a meal or two together, though I don't know how long we'll be staying in Du'rocke. It sounds like a great time to talk and learn about each other an our separate cultures." The idea that he already had a slight chance to learn about the Oclodians was an exciting one to Mars. It was a plus that the person he would be talking to didn't seem all that bad, though there was definitely potential for it to surface. Suddenly Mars was found himself joined by Lyra, turning to face her and giving her a smile. "Hey there. Hope you managed to get a few things from your room. By the way, this is Juniper, one of the Oclodians that stumbled upon the school, though you've probably seen her about." He gestured towards the elven girl and then continued. "So, how'd everything go for you? Did you manage to salvage anything from the wreckage?" He made sure to keep his body position so he was still partially facing Juniper, making sure she didn't feel ignored and wouldn't hesitate to converse, though judging by her personality he assumed that wouldn't be a problem either way.

(I'm assuming Lyra was the one that joined Jake and Juniper, though if it wasn't just imagine that Mars called her over instead.)

"L-Luke Bell."

"Arietta...b-but you can call me Ari, i-if you want. Xux seem zi cirau--oh, I'm sorry! I-I mean, you seem v-very kind."

"All is well, yes?"

The man that she called Luke Bell was indeed surprised by how quick the Oclodian's were learning their practises. Well, maybe the word 'practises' was a little too much, all it was an extension of the hand in a form of greeting but it shows that you're a genuine, friendly person for the most part. Arietta didn't seem like a bad person at all, just like him inn a sense; just shy, timid person that get's afraid by big crowds. The Irishman could relate to her on many occasions that he would prefer to keep hidden but the connection was there. But thanks to the friends he's made around Hawthorne although they may not be that numerous, they've helped him grow up to be the man that he is today. The growing of more facial hair however was entirely down to him however! But in all honesty, he hoped that he could walk with her on the way to Du'rocke with a bit of luck. He was already beginning to like Arietta as a person for some odd reason that he couldn't fathom. Maybe that was just the way of the world to bring them together as friends. Now that seems like something a woman would say to a man to friendzone him, he thought to himself with a smile as he looked down on her. They were of a short stature there was no doubt about but Luke knew not to underestimate people because of their size. Many upon many a time we was outmanoeuvred by someone in matches simply due to how quick and agile they were. Never underestimate your opponent but I never underestimate my talents, was the message that went around his head. Although they had their form of combat, Luke was still a wrestler.

Remembering for a moment that her hand was still waiting to be shook, the Irishman clasped it with both his hands, giving a firm shake.

"Forgive me if that seemed a bit too strong," he laughed, the smile consistent on his face, "I don't know my own strength if I have any at all! I know this may seem out of sort...b-but you would be willing to walk with me on the way to Du'rocke? It might seem out of the blue but I have a few question and I wonder if you'd be willing to answer them. Don't worry, I won't have a list as long as this hall with inquiries, just little things. So...what do you say?"

Anthony felt Calista bump into his back and he immediately went to instict number 1. He wrapped his arms around her and asked if she was alright. He then realized what he was doing and stepped back a few steps. "Sorry about that so. oh I think i remember that not sure though. I'm still only like 10% awake and as such shouldn't be taken seriously until I have a coffee or something." He said staring at the letter but he then started checking on her nose since she had face planted into his back.

"I am sorry about that though." He said pointing to the area he had hugged her at not that she was paying him any mind though. He was looking at her but followed her gaze and heard her call the girls beautiful. "They're not that special not like you anyways."

It was difficult for Arietta, Jayke, Juniper, and all of the professors to gather up the students to begin the walk to Du'rocke...and it was even more difficult to keep them all calm. Of course, Liam didn't blame everyone for being excited. Hell, he knew exactly how they felt. Going to a brand new place was always exciting, and considering the circumstances, it was natural that the students couldn't contain themselves. On the way to the Oclodian village, the history professor found himself looking back on everything that had happened in the passed few days. One minute, things were completely normal...the last minute before everything was thrust into chaos. Would Hawthorne ever serve as an academy again?

Would it become a graveyard for them all?

As somber as the thought was, Liam couldn't seem to push it from his mind.

On the walk there, Kinya was just trying to keep everyone in check while Crysta just merrily skipped along. Giovia was stopping every time she stepped on a twig to examine it and Xavier was checking out Arietta and Juniper...hm, how old were they, anyway? Arietta very quickly explained what the Festival of Flos was. An annual event thanking the goddess for a bountiful harvest...though that year, their crops were anything but plentiful.

Eventually, everyone reached the town...and were quite surprised when they were greeted with a burst of cheers. Waiting at the entrance of the village was a crowd of Oclodians, each of them with an elated expression. In the front was a man who was obviously of high stature. He was quite tall compared to the elven creatures behind him, but his height wasn't the only thing that made him stand out. His eyes were a seemingly glowing green, which was very uncommon among his race.

"Origato wer diwhaf tlush (Let the festivities begin)!" the man said happily in his native tongue. The crowd burst into cheers again, and music filled the air. Colorful lanterns illuminated the bustling streets, shops selling various wares opened, tapestries with strange markings rolled down from ever balcony...

It was beautiful.

"We welcome you, Hawthorne Academy!" the man spoke in English, his grin never fading. "Please, enjoy our festival!"

With a yawn and a stretch, Azure woke up from his own shop stand

"Ugh... my nap... kii... (why...)? Oh..."

Azure looked around for a bit, still a bit irritated over being woken up with all the sudden noise, even though today is supposed to be a day of celebration

"It started then, so they are all here...?"

-Hmm... I wonder I doubt anyone will come to my shop at this time anyway... I guess it'll probably be alright if I just have everything locked up-

He rubbed his eyes a bit, still a little weary from the nap he was having out of boredom from waiting for whatever.

"May as well see who's here, since they'll probably leave before I know it"

He went over to the crowd where everyone was, wading his was through it to see who came.

"Oh... those three came back, with all of them?"

Azure wasn't to sure to make of the visitors who came here. They all looked interesting, but as far as he was concerned it was just more people.

-I wonder what's up with the school that's supposed to be special that they all came from... they look normal enough, I think? It'd be bad if I may a bad first impression though...-

Colours, vivid colours everywhere. Of course festivals were nothing uncommon from where he came from but there was something...endearing about the festival itself. For a race briefly introduced through a complete fluke of a chance, there reception was one of the warmest things he may have ever seen. Maybe it due to Liam setting the groundwork for the races eventual convergence by actually visiting the village before but who knows? On the way to the little that was Du'rocke, he had a rather extended with the Oclodian named Arietta about various things that he would not explicitly state. But nonetheless, his queries were and all was said that needed to be said, done all things that needed to be done. But he also felt he shouldn't get too trustworthy of in case something does happen but after seeing the spectacle before him, it was hard to have any doubts about these people. They just seemed so trustworthy of us, why not so trusting of them? That's just nerves lad, it's just nerves, you'll get over it, was the mental murmurings of the Irishman as his attention was too transfixed on the bustling streets that laid out before, the tapestries with their markings all but insinuating, 'Come on, you know you want to know more'. Although Mars was in doubt more curious then him, his intrigue was still something.

Now, I can imagine Arietta will be playing here sometime, was another examining note he took inside his head. Seeing as how she held that instrument so tightly, it must have been of extreme importance to her craft he could imagine. Well, imagining himself in her shoes would be hard considering the only instruments he could actually play were the tin whistle and the recorder; and that was barely. So as to why she held it so highly, held is to strongly, he'll never know. But in complete hypocrisy to the last notion he thought, Luke would love to know why. Why, you may ask? Oh, he'll never know.

"What a place..." was the only few coherent words the man could mumble out, completely and utterly in awe with the place, "But even still, this feeling of dread still lingers on..."

@Queen Rai

Juniper felt a bit bad for playing Arietta's instrument as that was practically her keepsake and she was very protective of it, like how she was with her bow. However her brother's tone of voice and Mar's reply pushed her guilt aside as she soaked in everything he was saying. To her he was fascinating, like every other human and when he said his hair was natural she was ecstatic. She was so excited she didn't notice Arietta and the other kid have a sort of awkward discussion. Now she would be equally excited if he dyed it, for she would ask what he used to dye it and if it wore off or something but knowing it was natural was equally interesting. One could say she had a slight obsession with humans but it was more like an ‘unhealthy curiosity.’When he called over another human Juniper practically flew through the roof, this human was so adorable.

"Wow you are so cute! My name is Juniper, and let me just say humans are amazing!" Juniper commented gleefully.

To her this was heaven, meeting new people, talking to humans, this adventure was so worth the scolding she was going to get from the leader after.

Timeskip

Juniper clapped when their leader announced that the festival was beginning, lights flashed and glowed through the busy streets and intricate tapestries covered balconies. The whole the was magnificent and made Juniper feel alive and now that the humans were celebrating with them Jupiter was in a state of euphoria. During that though the guilt she practically squashed out earlier was still prominent making her search for Arietta so she could apologize, after all she wasn't going to let some dumb guilt get in the way of her elation.

(I'm so sorry I haven't been posting. T_T Didn't get any alerts. Blaaaah. And now this stupid format makes stuff hard to find. I guess just assume Cylva's been tagging along with Gwen, if that's alright. >.<)

Ever since she'd awoken from her nap, Cylva had remained fairly quiet. She'd tagged along with Gwen, but didn't have much to say. Too busy trying to figure out exactly what had happened, and taking in her surroundings, she didn't have time for things so silly as talking to people.

We welcome you, Hawthorne Academy! Please, enjoy our festival!"

Cylva looked around. The place was incredibly beautiful, and she couldn't help a slight gasp of awe, as she looked at the town around her. Suddenly, her stomach rumbled, and she just realized she hadn't eaten anything since the previous day. Turning to Gwen, she prodded her lightly. "H-hey, Gwen. Festivals mean food, right?" Currently being too shy to approach the creatures herself, and ask about food, she figured it was worth asking Gwen. Who knew. Maybe the other girl would feel more comfortable asking strangers for food.

(If I made a stupid in my post, but missing something that happened, I'm sorry. Just let me know, and I'll edit. T_T)

Mars' eyes lit up with fascination and intrigue upon reaching the village, having to stop himself from letting out a squeal of delight. Intrinsic decorations littered the streets, people peddling their goods at various stands, and wonderfully designed tapestries with unique symbols all garnered his attention. Mars had never been to a festival before and never really found interest in them at all, but this was one being hosted by a culture completely new to him. How lucky they were for all this to line up perfectly. Of course,, luck may have been a little bit of an overstatement considering the circumstances that brought them there, but all the thoughts about the danger and need to help the group strive was momentarily pushed aside by the spectacle before him. It reminded him of something he'd read about in one of his fantasy novels, causing a small part of him to believe that maybe those stories weren't completely made up and were based on places like this, stories passed down until someone decided to write about it. The whole situation also was similar to certain horror novels he'd read where the protagonist and friends come across a village that seems all nice and friendly and welcomes them in, only for the plot twist to be that the villagers were cannibals or make sacrifices to some sort of demon. Still, even if that was the case Mars would have probably been asking questions about how they live and their culture as the Oclodians seasoned him for supper and boiled the students.

Already trying to piece together a few things about the Oclodians himself, Mars could tell that his earlier assumption about the females being short was correct, and he also noticed that the males, while some being tall, never seemed to get as large as some of the taller humans. The one that had addressed them all to enjoy the festival definitely stood out, as he seemed to be taller than most of them. It seemed like a logical assumption to think that he was the one in charge, or at least had a position of high authority, which made Mars think. How do these people pass laws or pick people to run things? Was it a merit system where the most capable was in charge, or was it similar to democracy, or maybe monarchy? He had so many questions about things, and the fact that there was a festival seemed like a perfect way to learn.

Mars made his way over to Lyra and tugged on her hand like a kid in a candy store. "Come on, let's go explore, see what-" he paused as his gaze drifted over to a piece of art with what seemed like an unknown language, what he assumed was the Oclodians natural tongue. He swiftly scuttled over to the piece and looked it over with great intrigue. "This is fascinating. Hopefully I can learn this language eventually..."he muttered to himself as he ran his hand over the text. He was once again distracted when he spotted a female Oclodian with green hair. He assumed it was natural from his chat with Juniper before, which fascinated him greatly. "How interesting. I wonder what makes that possible." He said to himself as his gaze followed the females hair for a few seconds. Snapping his fingers as he remembered he was talkinmg to Lyra, he walked back over to his girlfriend with his eyes still scanning the place. "Sorry about that. What was I saying again? Oh yeah, let's go see what this festival is all about!"

(Sorry it took so long for me to post)
