ManicMuse
I ax-o-lotl questions.
Zach's history is stellar! He is ready to play imo. Feel free to post him in the finalized profile link and post in with him on the thread. Once you get your first post done, I'll get you a link to our discord server.

Name: Zachary Matthias Beyston
Nickname: Zach, Zax, Zex; not "Zexy Beyst" (although he's been called that before)
Address: 19312 Pendragon Avenue (Apts. 314, 316, 318)
Place of Birth: Renton, Washington (U.S.)
Height: 5'9"
Age: 40 (born 2008)
Weight: 167 lbs.
Physical Description: Well-built for his age, Beyston has maintained his health since being discharged from the Army. He has short brown hair, reminiscent of the regulation cut for Haven's military defense force. His blue eyes seem to glint, sometimes even shine, in the right lighting, as light reflects of his optical overlays.
Quick Bio: Born in 2008, Beyston spent most of his formative (high school) years with the Genesis Project in the news. Thanks to the values his father had instilled in him, Beyston knew what he was going to do once he graduated: he was going to join the Navy, following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. But, only months before his graduation, the Moon Crisis changed everything. His father, the commanding officer of a patrol boat in the Pacific Ocean, was destroyed by the massive tidal forces generated by deorbiting lunar chunks and space debris. As Earth's situation deteriorated in the following months, Beyston realized that the Navy was no longer a viable option, and began planning a new way to protect his planet from the rising Origin threat, and make his father's memory proud. The day after graduating, Beyston enlisted in the Army, and, following the results of a seemingly simple proficiency test, Private First Class Beyston was sent to training for a combat engineering unit. The next two years spent fighting the Origins were hell on Earth, but nothing when compared to the final days of the Great Retreat, when the Army was assigned to keeping the civilian influx into Haven as orderly as possible. Staff Sergeant Beyston was part of the unit responsible for sealing the final hangar of Haven, and the begging, screaming, and crying of those left outside would continue to haunt him. After serving in the Haven military defense force for two years, Beyston was discharged following terminal leave when it became clear that he was still struggling under the weight of his Great Retreat ghosts.
Ethnic Origin:
Parents’ Names & Occupations: Frederick Beyston (killed in action), ship captain in the Navy; Amanda Waller-Beyston (deceased), elementary school teacher
Social Class: Lower class
Education: High school education; received intensive instruction in relevant subjects during training as engineer for the Army.
Occupation/Employer: Self-employed/Independently employed
Employer’s Social Class: N/A
Community Status: Frequently called upon to help neighbors when things break, and calls upon those who can't make it to his apartment; however, even his neighbors know he has his ghosts, and know better than to bother him at times.
Job-Related Skills: Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, programming (basic), prototyping (designing circuitboards, robots, machines, etc.)
Hobbies/Recreations: Beyston rarely spends time away from his job; that is to say, when he isn't repairing something, or building something for someone else, he's frequently prototyping a design that he came up with.
Personal Qualities: Problem solver | Inquisitive/Curious | Analytical | Observative
Ambitions: Beyston is currently content with his life, happy to be able to help his neighbors, impelled to make amends for those he was unable to help during the Great Retreat.
Fears/Anxieties/Hangups: Beyston is still haunted by the actions he was forced to take during the Great Retreat, when his Army unit was assigned to seal off the last of Haven's hangars.
Health/Physical Condition: Beyston is extremely fit for his age, having maintained the level of fitness which was required of him while he served in both the Army and Haven's military defense force.
Upgrades: As an engineer in the Army, Beyston's eyes were enhanced with retinal overlays and optical optimization hardware; although the hardware is now slightly out of date, he has maintained the firmware at the state-of-the-art level. Ten years ago, Beyston suborned and reprogrammed nanobots he had smuggled from his Army kit when he was discharged in 2030. He used them to implant spoofers, designed to fool handprint scanners through the use of a low-intensity close field, in both wrists, as well as an unobtrusive homemade scanner in his right palm.
Philosophies or catch phrases:
"No matter how hard you try, if you don't pay your dues to Murphy, you're screwed."
"Never forget to factor in Murphy."
UPDATEAnd finished! ManicMuse , everyone else, I'd love some feedback on my sheet. (Also, I've started work on the antag character that I mentioned, and will post it once I've gotten far enough along with it.)
