“Phew! Close shave there huh, Eugene?”

“I nearly had a heart attack when you just rushed in with the super-armour dash even though you were dangerously low on health there, Kaz'. Luckily you had the csA ready to cancel out of the ability.”

A blonde haired individual spoke to Kazuto, the latter of whom looks nearly indistinguishable from his own in-game avatar in GBN as he scratched the back of his head with a sheepish grin. The duo were leaving an arcade center that was holding the 2024 EXVS Premium Dogfight Tournament, the two of them having walked out as champions of the series of fierce matches.

“Sorry to give you cardiac arrest there partner. I mean, you still did manage to give me the jump on them after all so all's well that ends well!”

His reassurance was met with a tired sigh from Eugene, who soon peered at his watch.

“Seems it's gotten late. I guess that's what happens if we get stuck in an EXVS2 match that lasts a while pretty often.”

“Yeah, time flies huh? Still, go on ahead without me. I just need to head over to the convenience store and- Hark!?”

Just as the black-haired individual turned to walk away, he felt the collar of his jacket get yanked back before being dragged away.

“There already is a convenient store near the train station. No need to walk somewhere else faraway.”

“B-but they have a limited-timed sandwich being sold at that particular-”

“You'll have plenty of time to be able to explore GBN after you get the official copy for your Amusphere at home partner. Your cousin isn't always going to be there to wake you up every morning you know”

Eugene bluntly responded, having saw past Kazuto's weaved-up excuse to hit the Gundam Front Tokyo's GBN Booth overnight for the 10th time, ignoring streams of pleas from his best friend to let him go as the duo head closer to the nearest train station in Akihabara.

It was now daytime both in Japan and in GBN's Japanese Server's Hub Lobby, with Narukaze being among one of the few batches of players now logging in and wandering around.

Shinji would be logged in, Artoria not present with her.

We can hang out later. I can't log in to GBN right now because I'm helping a friend move in.

Shinji would sit at a bench with a nice view over the city and the water. MS would be flying in the skies as she would imagine herself in a Gunpla battle against Efreet and Graham. They both were amazing battlers and she wanted to see how she could fare some day.

Currently seated at her desk, Honey stared at her model, referring back to personal sketches in her book almost meticulously. Everything looked accurate...paint scheme was right, color tones were right, not a hair out of place. Wait, it didn't have hair...nevermind, the point still stood! She stared at it for another hard minute, her entire desk a cluttered mess of paints, sketching pencils, papers, and small canvases. She glanced at the clock, faceplanting onto her desk with a groan. Two forty-five in the morning, dammit! Where had the evening gone!? Wait...wait no, she knew. She had used the last of her birthday cash to get the gunpla scanner, ran to the 3D printer to print her replica bits, then spent it all assembling her model. And then it was painting, so much painting. Damn her perfectionist attitude! She heaved a small sigh, lifting her face to rest her chin on the desk. "It took all my birthday cash to get the scanner, and like, two years of saving just for the VR set....but hobbies aren't cheap. Least one pays for itself." She cast a glance towards all the art littering her room, an empty styrofoam box for take out here and there, one even having been spray-painted neon green...why did she do that again? Ah well, she'll figure it out later. Now...sleep or game? Fuck sleep, gaming!

Holding the model up for a moment she heaved a sigh of relief, slumping back in her chair. "I couldn't get this more identical if I paid an actual company to make it. A perfect RX-78-2....something so satisfying about making stuff. The iconic swords that can, of course, adjust to the beam javelin, RX*M-Sh-008/S-01025 Shield, BOWA*XBR-M-79-07G Beam Rifle in hand, and BLASH*XHB-L-03/N-STD Hyper Bazooka attached to a lower back hardpoint! And of course, the Hyper Hammer looped to the side of the hip for ease of access! This must be what my mom felt when she had kids, pure pride." She paused, heaving a sigh. She sounded like such an uber-nerd right now...and this was the only model of Gundam she knew anything about! She had basically everything about it memorized about it by now...did that make her more or less nerdy than someone who had a general knowledge? She wasn't quite sure honestly...she was happy though, it may be 'outdated' apparently, but the design was groundbreaking for its debut and she loved a classic.

Standing up and rubbing her eyes she started towards her VR system, offering a yawn. "Just a little bit...I paid enough for this, I'll use it...she says, already owning it for a year or so now." Sliding into the seat she readied herself, placing the Gundam model onto the scanner as she got set and relaxed. As the game started up she ran through the usual routine of starting up and then...time to pick a lobby. Blegh, only looked like the Japanese servers and the American servers had anyone on right now. Made sense, her own timezone should be asleep, save for her. Well, time to bother the Americans, she figured. A brief transition and she was in-game, looking at the world through the eyes of her avatar.

She only had a little bit of experience with the game itself, she was still pretty rookie with it. But she was always the type to go all in or not at all, and this was no exception. Starting to wander around the HUB city she paused every so often, still trying to get her bearings. Did she talk to someone at this point for tips or help, or no? If she didn't talk, she'd wander around like an idiot. If she did talk, she'd look like an idiot....screw it, either way she looked like an idiot, may as well get some help here! Continuing to wander around she spotted someone lounging on a bench with a nice view of everything from how it looked...didn't look busy either, perfect. "Hey?" She started forward from the side of the bench, waving her hand a bit to get attention. "Still trying to find my way around and figure stuff out, can you give a rookie a hand?" She gave a small grin to Shinji, not wanting to appear overly confident, but not look like some scared pup either.

Shinji would notice the new arrival, and would look behind her as if she was talking to someone else.

Shinji realized she was the one being called out and would quickly hide her face by pulling up her hoodie and looking away.

"I'm actually new here too. Sorry for inconveniencing you-"

"Sorry I'm late!"

Shinji would look to see Artoria approaching, before she noticed the new face.

"Oh cool! I see you made a new friend! "

"Actually.... We just met."

"Oh? So this cutie here is a newcomer? "

"Uh... I mean, what else could she be?"

Artoria would have a hand out to shake Honey's.

"Artoria Hawke, Hero for Hire! Pleased to make your acquaintance! Is that a customized ZAFT uniform? "

Oh, she was a newbie too. Drat! But at least she didn't make too much of a fool of herself, right? "Oh, okay! Sorry for botheri-" Turning around to notice Artoria she took a step back, hands up in defense. "E-eh? First off, don't go calling me a cutie! Cute's for animals and kids, sorry. I am new though, yea." Relaxing her stand and standing upright she extended her hand, offering a smile. "Nice to meet you Artoria, I'm Dreamer. Wait...a...ZAFT?" Oh god, she only just showed up here and she was going to look like an idiot! Oh well, be honest, or she'd dig a bigger hole for herself! "I honestly don't know what you're talking about, nor what ZAFT is. I'm still really new to this stuff. I just went looking online for uniforms, and I modified a design I liked. I'm working on a concept for an Earth Federation uniform design to stick to a theme, but for now, I like what I'm working with."

After her handshake she crossed her hands behind her head in a relaxed pose. "Sorry, I probably sound like a real idiot right now, don't I?"

A day had passed since Visato had logged off and returned home. The classic cycle of the average school boy commenced afterwards, going to school and moving on with his school life, before finally finishing and returning once more the old familiar arcade, logging back in with the same eccentric joy.

As the male had returned to the lobby hub once more of GBN, he had began a walk towards the area he was watching the battle with Narukaze the day before. Instead of running into the other boy, he notices what seemed to be three females talking as he made his way over to them, all the while straightening out his EF Ensign uniform.

"You ladies new too?"

Artoria would chuckle at Honey's explanation for her appearance. "Don't worry about it. As long as you enjoy gunpla, that is all that matters!"

Shinji would hear V talk and she turned to face him.
"Yes we are-"

"I'm actually very familiar with this game. I'm not new whatsoever. "

"Oh right! You got one of those Amuspheres and played alot before they built the Gundam Base here in the US. That's why you're a rank C Diver."

Artoria laughed.
"It helps when you have famous actors as parents! "

Shinji looked at V before introducing herself.
"My name is Shinji. It's nice to meet you! "

She was looking like a total moron. It took her a moment too long to connect the dots that Gunpla equaled Gundam. Could she look any more amateurish? "Right, yea! I enjoy it a lot...at least, what I do know." Turning around at the sound of another voice the girl spun around, a small sigh of relief escaping her. That was a uniform she knew at least, Earth Federation. If she just tweaked the female uniform a bit later, she could stick to the theme...oh well, she had to admit, it was simple but appealing! "New? Eh heh, yea. As new as they come, honestly." Pulling her hands from behind her head she let one rest on her hip, the other jutting her thumb towards herself. "Dreamer. Nice to meet you. What can we call you? And...follow up question?" She seemed to deflate a bit, shoulders slumping. "I have no clue what to do from here, I approached Shinji hoping for tips or something, or a rundown of things."

"Visatoshi. V works.", he replies with a genuine smile, nodding. Upon Dreamer mentioning about a rundown on things, the guy let's out a chuckle as he scratches the back of his head awkwardly. "Yeah uh, I just had a little bit of a walkthrough, I'm still figuring out things as well", V simply shrugs upon finishing his statement.

Artoria would smile with her arms crossed and eyes closed, before she opened them and pointed at the trio of beginners.

"Alright then, how would you like me to fight you three in a battle to help show you the ropes?"

Shinji would be surprised and would have her arms up caught off guard by the suggestion.

"Are you being serious?! "

Honey nodded towards V, ceasing her slump and standing upright. "Well, it can't be too hard. A VRMMO is a VRMMO, and I've got a good sum of experience with it, can't be too hard right? I'm sure we'll figure it out, V." Where did one start though? Usually, she needed a jumping-off point, and she got into the swing from there. Hearing Artoria's voice and suggestion, a wide confidant grin spread across her face, glancing at her and Shinji. "Certainly hope she's being serious! A fight is one of the best ways to get a hang of things! Jump in head first, don't hesitate or think too hard about it, that's a good motto I've found when it comes to learning." Punching the palm of her hand with a fist she nodded towards Artoria. "Sounds like a blast, I'm more than happy to go at it with you. Gives me a chance to try my Gundam as well, I've been dying to do that."

V nods as he listens to Dreamer's statement, "I sure hope eventually. It would be nice to finally get some action and fun." As the boy keeps a smile, his face slowly flattens out with one lone perked eyebrow at one of the other female's suggestions, "You really that cocky huh?" The male once more shifts around to straighten his Earth Federation uniform, as he crosses his arms, "Confident in yourself enough to go against 3 people at once, new or not." V shakes his head as he crosses his arms once more, shrugging his shoulders.

"Well, I'm not gonna deny the idea if the other two are down for it, but don't be upset once your gunpla gets overwhelmed and taken down, you're practically signing up for it."

Artoria would chuckle.
"I see the two of you are eager to take me on."

Shinji looked away pressing two fingers together.

"Am I really not enthusiastic as these two?"
She asked herself as if she was talking to someone off screen.

She then would exhale.

"Okay, I'll try as well."

Artoria would nod as she then turned away from the group smiling.
"I'll take us to the Duel area then. Right this way! "

The Duel area was certainly interesting. A huge desert with jagged mountains surrounding the area.

"Now then, let's see what you got!"
Artoria would say as her Gundam materialized with her inside the cockpit.

V had a point, the girl was a bit cocky. Three against one was basically asking to get creamed, unless she was a goddess of VRMMO and Gundam. But that probably wasn't the situation they had right now, right? "Alright, this should be fun!" She had no idea what she was doing, and at this point, she didn't care. Wouldn't be the first time she was diving headfirst into a situation, wouldn't be her last! It was fun to do that actually, was the best way to learn in her opinion! Following along to the arena she had to admit, it was pretty amazing! She was just glad she couldn't feel the temperature, she doubted being in a desert heat would be fun. "Right, let's do this!" It took her a moment or so to figure out how to access her Gundam, but hey, at least she figured it out! Glancing at Artoria's direction she let out a soft noise of confusion. What the heck was that!? Okay, to be fair, she knew only a little bit, but that wasn't something she knew of!

The 78-2 materialized, the pilot comfortably inside the cockpit. "Oh wow, this is cool! Cockpit isn't exactly as I imagined it'd be...wonder if I can customize that." She took a few moments to familiarize herself with the controls, the 78's head moving to survey itself. "It's even better than I could have hoped! It's perfectly spot on from what I can see....I wonder if I can view it as my avatar outside of it, give it a thorough look over. From what I can see from here though, I've made a near-exact replica..." She paused for a moment, looking around. "Wait...I wasn't speaking to myself, was I? Right, anyways, I'm good to go!"

Now, this will be fun.​

Upon being taken to the desert duel area and seeing Artoria already getting in her Gunpla, and soon Dreamer doing the same, V simply held a smirk as he watched the two in their gunpla now in the size of their actual counterpart mobile suits. He reached into his pocket, and pulled out and held an all too familiar device in his right hand, a lone stick shift shaped tool.

With that, V nods as he opens his menu and activates the command to summon his mobile suit, the classic colors of white, blue, black and red materializing in a custom Gunpla of his own on the desert sand. The gunpla appeared in a cluster of lights and digits on one knee and with a cable hanging and dangling from its center cockpit. Running through the sand, the boy suddenly hooks his leg around the cable and hits the button attached, letting himself be pulled into the cockpit of his own gunpla as he pulls shut the door.

As he secures his seat and hatch, V, still holding the stick shift tool, looks over to the right to see a similar shape indented into the console of the gundam, and with a swift movement, picks up his arm and slams his hand with the base of the device into the slot. Upon contact, lights run from along the insert slot all around the console as the screens light up, the eyes begin to glow blue, and it slowly springs to life. Visato let's his gunpla move its head around to see Artoria's Destiny Impulse, then Dreamer's classic RX-78-2, before turning his head back to Artoria, moving the controls as his gunpla punches it's right hand into the left palm, shifting its legs, and moving into a spread prep stance, the gunpla's wings, slowly spreading out and unfolding.

"Me and Double X - O are ready, now, no holding back."

Shinji was the last one to get into her Gundam, although she felt intimidated by the double X custom and the RX-78-2

As the Asmodeus Gundam would awaken, it would look towards the Destiny Impulse, then it's two companion mechs, before Shinji would say uncertainly, "L-lets begin then?"

The Destiny Impulse's wings would open as the wings of light activate, before the Impulse Gundam would fly straight towards the middle Gundam, which was the RX-78.

I'll pick off the middle one first! It's an outdated MS so...

The Impulse Gundam would then vanish for a split second, before appearing in front of the Grandfather of all Gundams and delivering the Infamous Char Kick towards the cockpit.

Alright, she could do this! She had a rough understanding of her controls right now...but that was about it. She knew absolutely nothing of what these Gundams could do! Curse her limited knowledge! Wait, she was being targetted, they were going straight for her! Think, think! Wait a minute, this seems a bit familiar- Trusting her gut she held her place for a moment, only for...did that thing just blink out of existence!? No matter, she was right! As the Impulse re-appeared to deliver the kick, the RX-78 quickly weaved towards the side, as if it had no intention on repeating history. "Chars kick, I knew it! Planning to take me out in classic style?" Okay, maybe she didn't know it, but given her limited knowledge, it had been her first guess. No one really charged their opponent without their weapon prepped after all!

Right, and now... She was still in close enough quarters, so she fired off a burst of fire from the 78's head-mounted vulcans towards the Impulse's head. Please let it be normal and that be where it keeps its sensors! After it's brief volley of gunfire the MS jumped back, jets sending it back through the air until it touched down on the ground again.

The move was sudden as Artoria made a break and suddenly lashed out at Dreamer without a split second thought as it started. Thankfully enough, it seems Honey's knowledge of the show had proven fruitful as she dodged the kick with grace, before returning an assault with the 78's Head Mounted Vulcans. Not bad, at that range the Vulcans are always a nice backup close range weaponry, albeit one of the weakest weapons in history of Gunpla.

Visato started to move a hand to the back of the DX-O to reach for a handle, taking a hold with it's right hand and pulling out its beam shotgun from the back port sheathe between the wings. As the DX held the weapon, giving it a nice chamber with the left, Visato starts to break into a sprint, carrying the heavy rifle close to its chest as it makes it's way towards Artoria and Honey.

Getting closer and closer, V suddenly charges up a boost for his exhaust and charges up the satellite cannons for a tiny burst. On mark, the DX suddenly jumps, using the two barrels of the satellite cannons in one small shot and a sudden blast from the exhaust to propel itself towards the two close up Gunpla. V doesn't hesitate as he maneuvers the barrel of the weapon towards the Impulse, and squeezes the trigger to release one heavy blast of a beam.

What?! That's new!
Artoria thought as soon as the RX-78 had dodged the Kick as if it had gotten fed up from the repeated use in the shows, and is retaliating by firing it's head Vulcans at the Impulse's head.

At the same time, the DX would rush into CQC and fire it's beam shotgun at the Impulse.

The Impulse quickly veered it's body to the left to evade the Vulcan shots, as the Wings of Light would expand and form a barrier to block the shotgun impact.

The Destiny Impulse then drew both Flash Edges before throwing each one at a separate target.

Shinji would observe the battle, uncertain about what to do, but the Asmodeus would take aim and fire it's rifle at the Impulse Gundam.

The Impulse Gundam would quickly move to the side before teleporting in front of the Asmodeus Gundam and bring up a open palm towards the chest, before firing it's Palma Fiora cannon at it.

The beam connected, but would quickly disperse.

Crap! I forgot about that!

Shinji quickly took advantage of Artoria's mistake as the Asmodeus drew it's battle blade and swung down at the opposing machine.

"Like hell I'd let you get a chance! "

The Impulse drew a sword from its back before crossing blades with the Asmodeus.

Shinji was sweating. She wasn't even experienced with cqc that it can be seen plainly, as the Destiny Impulse's blade pushed back against the Asmodeus's sword.

Damn, she dodged! Alright, stay focused! Wait- what the heck are THOSE!? Were those boomerangs!? Beam-erangs? Whatever they were, not good! Bringing her shield to bare in front of her quickly to block the Flash Edge. Alright, the shield was able to take energy weapon impact in the show, so it should offer the same protection in a video game, right?! Keeping the shield in front of her to protect the main body of the 78, she readied the beam rifle from around the shield and took a shot at the Destiny Impulse's side. Alright, if she's engaged in CQC, she'll either have to disengage and give her opponent an opening, or take the shot! "Hang in there, Shinji! You can't let her take a win that easily!"

As Artoria evaded the shots from Honey's vulcans, and had successfully formed a barrier of some sort to take the blast from V's beam shotgun, Visato barely had a moment's glance before noticing Artorias suddenly back off and pull out two sharp tools, hurling one at Honey, and the other at Visato. He had seen too much of Gundam SEED to know what these were. "Beam Boomerangs!", Visato yells as he backs off with a burst of speed, forcing the Double X Custom to retreat for a split second as the Beam Boomerang span in his direction. With his reflexes, all he could think of doing was suddenly holding his weaponry horizontally as the boomerang came his way, and responds by throwing his shotgun into its direction to get in between the blade and his gunpla. "Probably the main problem of this gunpla is I don't have any shields.. maybe I'll work about building it into you alongside other upgrades..", V thought to himself as the shotgun explodes in a mass of smoke from taking the blunt of the beam boomerang.

As Shinji had joined in alongside Honey and V in combat against Artoria, V took the moment to reassess the situation. Shinji had been taking shots at Artoria from a distance, before suddenly clashing blades with her. The two machines, in a lock of combat as Visato took notice of Honey now also using the 78's beam rifle to switch places with Shinji in background fire. Visato, since already sacrificing his main weaponry, has decided to switch tactics as well. As Shinji and Artoria remained in a blade lock, VIsato moves the Double X's arm to the hip, pulling out its unignited beam saber's handle and rushes straight at the two, holding out its left arm towards the pair as he suddenly ignites the massive wide beam saber and rushes for a tackle at the Impulse.

"You're going down!"

The Destiny Impulse would vanish once again, as the beam shot hit, and bounced off of the Asmodeus. The same could be said for the Beam Saber, but it left a small gash across the chest of the Asmodeus.

"Hey! Aren't we on the same side?!"
Shinji complained to V and Dreamer, as Shinji realized something.

"Where the heck did the Impulse run off to?! "

"I'm up here!"

The Impulse was now in the air above the three Gundams, as it had its sword held above it with both hands on the hilt. The Wings of light would spin up and around the blade before it became a gigantic blade of golden energy.

"Take this, my ultimate attack! Ex....."

The Impulse brought the sword down onto the trio below, aiming to wipe them with this single attack.

"CALIBUR!!!!!"

Dangit, she's fast! But it's almost like she's relying on her suits mechanics as opposed to actual skill. Hearing Shinji's complaint, Dreamer responded. "We are, but this thing is hard to hit! There's got to be a limit or a cooldown to this teleporting routine!" By the time Shinji asked about where the Impulse had gone, Dreamer was already trying to find it. 'I'm up here!' Aw nuts. The 78-2's head turned skyward to notice the hovering gundam, taking in the sight of her...powering up? Honey had played enough games to know where this was going, even before she started talking. She's blowing her ultimate already!? I know we're new, but that's just disrespectful! Once Excalibur started to swing down, there was a decision to be made. To run away, and risk being hit or suffer possible AoE...or charge headlong and counter-attack. The choice wasn't hard for Dreamer, personally.

The 78 dashed forward straight towards the Impulse's direction and it's swing right as it started, stowing its beam rifle on the back of its shield and reaching for the handle of a beam saber over its shoulder. She's swinging downwards, and with something that size, she likely can't redirect quickly. She's staying in one place, and if its an ultimate, surely her mobility is limited, right? I have one shot...she's been underestimating me out the gates! Targetting me first with that kick, talk about trying to show off! This was going to need split-second timing and precision, but she could do it, she was certain! At the last moment possible she leapt up, jets propelling the Gundam into the air at an acute angle with the sword, likely sending her a hairbreadth away from the blade of the weapon proper. As she leapt off the ground, the Gundams hand pulled the hilt of the beam saber out, only for it to extend further into the beam javelin. Twisting the body of the mobile suit around as she passed the impulse, she hurled the three-pronged beam javelin squarely at the back of the MS. I swear to god if this thing just teleports again, I'm going to lose my mind!

The movement of Artoria's Impulse was definitely impressive, being a quick gunpla was certainly an issue. "Sorry bout that!", Visato yells to Shinji apologetically as the DX regains its standing om the ground and looks about to try to get another sighting of the lightning Impulse. Honey had been the first to get the sighting of her coming down for an attack, as she dodged her attack and turned around to lance a beam javelin into Artoria's back.

V makes the DX leap and another burst dive upwards into the Impulse's direction. In its movements, it sheathes the beam saber away, reaching over and pulling off the big handle on the far side skirt and igniting the Hyper Beam Saber. Their Swift thinking had paid off. Artoria was thinking she had enough time to finish charging her ultimate, but it was long off. The Beam Javelin, and the Hyper Beam Saber struck the Destiny Impulse, as the machine known for being the Union of the Impulse and Destiny Gundams.... Was destroyed.

The ruins of the machine would vanish as Artoria was now falling from a high place, screaming.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"
The Asmodeus had managed to boost into the air and catch her before she could have crashed and made a big splat on the desert sands.
