synopsis
"Systems in conflict become more similar over time."
The year is 1960. The government has been testing and advertising an experiment that could potentially alter genetic code to essentially succeed in manual evolution. After several tests, scientists believe they've finally reached a breakthrough and are ready for real application. They made postings and announcements asking for any volunteers who'd like to be the first to experience "manual evolution". Our characters will be those volunteers who will all be sent to the lab for procedure. Put into tubes and sedated, they later awaken on a train. The train is mysteriously stopped and attacked. The group of volunteers exit the train and explore the very odd train station. The place they've arrived to is called Requiem. A strange city that seems to be set back in the 20s/30s. It doesn't take long until the volunteers find out Requiem is filled with deadly mutants.
With newfound powers from the gene mutation and weapons found along the way, the group of volunteers will have to find their way out of Requiem before they're killed and forgotten. And maybe find the truth to it all.

psychos
Deadly humanoid monsters with intelligence and an insatiable urge to murder. These creatures are filled with rage. They roam around Requiem, looking for things to kill. They're weak but fast, slightly more so than the average human. And they typically attack in groups. They have claws which are used to dig into their prey and tear them apart. They don't speak, but they understand speech.
hellhounds
Very quick and violent. These creatures will stalk their prey before attacking. They also don't speak but can understand human speech. They can climb walls and jump exceptionally high. When they feel threatened, their faces will form into a frown and they will become even more violent. They are very quiet but if one listen closes they generate somewhat of a wheezing sound that signals their breathing and it will quicken as they get closer to their prey.
parallels
Quite possibly the most dangerous identified type of mutant. These mutants perfectly resemble humans. They can speak and listen just like them. But these creatures have hidden intentions. They like to trick humans into being friends with them and then kill them, finding pleasure in the shocked faces of their victims. Parallels are slightly stronger and faster than average humans but the real kicker is that they have powers, just like the volunteers. The only way someone can identify a Parallel, is if they carefully study their skin. They have tainted veins that have an abnormally noticeable blue color. They are most apparent running along the forearms and wrists. There are two other signs that are less noticeable in which someone can identify a Parallel. One is ticks. Some Parallels will have a unique tick. The other is occasional, yet random nosebleeds.

1.
Try to be active. I understand life gets in the way, but try to post at least two times per week. Don't show interest if you don't plan to be active when the roleplay starts. And if something is going on, please let me know. We can figure something out. If you fail to meet posting requirements and don't speak to me about it, your character will be killed off.
2.
Please understand this is not going to be a happy o'jolly upbeat roleplay. There will be death, there will be horror, there will be violence. Don't plan for this to be a gorefest, but prepare for some mature themes.
3.
As far as post length goes, I prefer quality of quantity. I understand sometimes you can get writer's block, or there isn't much to write about, that's fine. Just make sure you're at least posting something that people can easily understand and respond to. One liners are not permitted.
4.
Fc's will be semi-realistic. No anime, no real fc's. Letting you know in advance in case you wanna go off and find one before the character thread is put up.
**And yes, this roleplay is heavily inspired by Bioshock.
