Gotham Ascending

My apologies for my Penguin character because I've probably adapted him into a weird mixture of a couple of different mediums I've seen him in and into my writing style, so if he seems different than your expectations then you can just deal because I've already apologized.

I'm glad you included Black Mask, Hazak. I even thought of him as an important player in Gotham as evidenced by a little note I made before about the rest of Gotham territory belonging to other parties. I'm glad he's in this. It makes me so scared that I'm going to mess up and lose all of my territory to you in the first few pages haha.

So this is my tentative suggestion for current territory ownership. I have no idea. I'm just making educated guesses on the ranks and I'm not even going to try to guess what percentage of the territory they have right now. So, you can finish filling this in if you want.

Penguin -

Black Mask -

Harvey Dent -

Harley Quinn -

Riddler -

Poison Ivy -

Kingpin -

Ra's?

Bane?

Talia?? (@Apollogy8 did you want to join this? :) )

Mwahaha you have no idea of my plans! If it helps from my understanding there isn't so much a percentage of territory but rather "Top" players. This is how I have come to understand Gotham throughout the years, if it helps:

Penguin and Black Mask- Owns about 40-50% between each other. This tends to change by event but typically stays to a point where neither tries to directly assault the other. Penguin typically has his hands in the underworld more often because of how he runs business. While Black Mask tends to run both underground businesses coupled with legitimate ones.

Harvey: Has turf but its rather fluid. Seeing as he does everything by the coin and actually has a twisted sense of justice he tends to make very fragile alliances and thus has trouble expanding. I have typically seen him either join up with another powerhouse or in some twisted way join up with law enforcement.

Harley Quinn: She is my favorite villain but sadly has the leadership qualities of a blind trout. She typically either joins up with "Mista Jay!!" or "Red" (her cute name for Ivy). She is typically great because while completely insane she is incredible smart and a surprisingly athletic fighter.

Riddler: He really is an enigma! He is much like Two-face. A small following of people and he likes to play behind the scenes. Slightly. Then his ego typically makes him gloat and pop up. He isn't so much interested in 'Power" so much as he is interested in proving how smart he is.

Poison Ivy: Well....Ivy doesn't care for humans much. If she strikes a deal then she must really find you useful. So her turf is usually untapped but strong. Seeing as messing with Ivy is a big no no. Unless you have the power to back yourself up.

Kingpin: I don't recall a super villain in DC by that name but maybe he is new? I know that Kingpin is the Daredevils arch nemesis but that's Marvel. Not sure what to say of Kingpin if he is an OC.

Ra's: I'm sure he needs little explanation. He basically an evil Batman but ruthless and like over a thousand years old. He however has no turf in Gotham, but has his people everywhere in it.

Bane: Is pretty much like the Riddler and Two-face as far as turf are concerned.

Talia: Likes to be around her 'lover' at anytime but typically is with her father unless she feels like going about her own business or tending to her and Bruce son.

Again this is what I know and maybe it helps? Also I know I threw in some of their personality quirks in my turf descriptions but that just an added feature, don't want to seem like I'm instructing anybodies roleplaying.

Haha, I understand most of their motivations already, but that might be helpful for others. I wasn't sure what role the dice was going to play which led me to believe that there would be a lot more numbers and specifics involved. So we're just using it to find winners for conflict then?

Hmmmm yeah that's a good way. Though I was a little confused about the whole dice rolling myself. I have done it but typically in a d20 format and its used for combat chances.

This makes me feel so much better about not understanding the dice! Haha...

Btw, this is why I love/hate roleplaying with you. I love that you always plan these elaborate plots and twists, but it kills me when I'm not in on them.

Haha I wouldn't worry to much about this one...well okay worry because I do have 'strong' players in this game of wits and I love to utilize my weapons. But I have to hold myself back because I have an unfair advantage comic wise and I have to remember that these characters are being rp'd and may react slightly different from what I would expect.

Oh, I'm too aware. You definitely have the advantage before even considering your background knowledge. If I thought that I could roleplay Bane worth a damn I would have chosen him. I'm worried enough that I'm not doing the characters that I have justice without creating a hot mess by trying to roleplay Bane... he'd probably wind up as messed up as the Bane from the Dark Knight Rises hahaha.

My apologies but I won't be able to post tonight... I feel like I'm holding things up, but I've been busy all day and I've got five minutes before I'll be heading out to start my NYE plans. Happy New Year to everyone in advance!

Sometimes he hires guys, just making sure. Even with his suit though, a sniper could put one between his eyes pretty easily.

If he doesn't have the helmet piece on, but remember they're not trying to kill him. They're trying to take something that he's going to be guarding intensely.

Well, killing him couldn't hurt. Also, how thick could that glass be, an inch, even an inch of bulletproof glass would go poof with a Teflon bullet, in short, I want to see freeze six feet under.

I think he's a very interesting character though and he could prove to be a great asset. Plus, I think Penguin would probably interpret this as a betrayal as he made it clear that he wanted Freeze. You could always funnel this apparent hate for Mr. Freeze into your character showing obvious hate for him.

Well, I have one or two hero's! A villain too~

A hero would be my oc Robby, a child with a mental disability. He has the ability to form objects from his mind, and usually he's compliant, but because of his memory (which is impressive) he memorized a code his father was reading over. It was a code for an important weapon (Or whatever you would find more interesting xD ) so he's very valuable. But the trick is to try and get him to tell you it.

The next would be Johnathan, or Good Master, a life bringer with the ability to bring to life anything he touches. Kinda like a green thumb only better. He uses his powers for good, and mostly to protect his brother, Robby, from power hungry war mongers. He's been in hiding after going blind in a freak accident.

The last, and my favorite, would be Lolo, or Lucifer. This fellow is a shape shifter, set to earth from another planet to get it ready for intergolactic war. He was more or less gotten rid of because the people of his planet found him to be a danger in general. He's violent, smooth and sleek and will get in your head if you let him in. His main form is a snake and a human, and his poisonous bite infects the mind, making him appear to be the most attractive being possible, which he'll use to kill you while youre distracted.

@BadMasterYouJerk

I don't really want any heroes in this roleplay, hence why I got rid of Batman. There's no fun in having your character hauled off to Blackgate or Arkham... or fighting a "two-front" war.

As for your original character, I think the powers are excessive for this kind of roleplay. We have a lot of human characters and I'm not a fan of bringing in characters that are too overpowered. It just doesn't fit with the roleplay. If you develop that character further and reduce the power and give him a worthy motivation then perhaps I can accept you. I would also need a writing sample to go along with your character. Thanks! :)
