Backstory: Mars was born into a rich family, both of his parents being business people and would often travel to various places for their job. When Mars was young, he was diagnosed with autism which was hard on both of his parents but his mom would do her best to make Mars feel comfortable and happy. Even when he was young, he and his dad never got along at all. Most of the time, the dad would be doing his own thing and it would be Mars' mom who would play with him and give him attention. For most of his childhood, he was happy with his mom but would often long for his dad's attention at least once but his dad would be too busy to even notice him. WIP

When Mars was 16 years old, he received Valkyrie... his first ever service dog. A dog that he was allowed to take to school with him. WIP

His dad refuses to give him money, even when he needs it, and Mars had a hard time getting hired for an actual job like a cashier or something to start out with. Mars did not want to be left broke with a rich parent so he started to turn towards dancing for money and it worked, however he keeps this a secret from his dad and from others. However there are a few who do know that he is a dancer.

Furthermore, Mars created an OnlyFans account as yet another source of income for him. It's still going and he's making money which is what matters to him. And, he met this older man not too long along, a rich man, and Mars really needed more and more money for himself so he turned towards this older man for money. He found out that he wasn't getting enough money and so he decided to dump the man and run off.

River is an interesting fellow. People are usually offput when they first meet him with the way that he is: rather odd in his movements and his manner of speech confounds. He speaks in riddles and metaphors, and doesn't really leave any room for anyone that can't keep up. While this may seem exclusionary, it's actually a fantastic way to keep those that don't want to actually hear what he has to say at bay. After all, River is profoundly bright and insightful for someone that speaks in riddles. In this way, he protects himself from being taken advantage of.

This comes with a downside, as people usually can't decipher his language unless they really work to get to know him, he usually doesn't confide in someone, leaving his emotions to whirl around inside of himself with no release. River grew up with fascinatingly brilliant parents, and an equally brilliant older sister. His mother has two PhDs, one in anthropology, the other in psychology. His father, on the other hand, teaches astrophysics at a university level and researches dark matter. His sister is the top of her class, in lawyer school to become an environmental lawyer. Like his family, he also had a lifelong quest to understand and learn, and would read anything he could get his hands on. And, shockingly, their household was a very loving and supportive one. River, for as long as he's known, has always been just a bit "odd" and while he's been ostracized by his peers at one point or another, he's never felt like an outsider in his own family. However, when he was very young, he got wrapped up in a vehicular incident. The blood transfusion that was then given to him was tainted, and he became HIV+ at a shockingly young age.

River was shaken, and he had to stare into the face of death every day. Knowing that death could've been right around the corner at any moment, he began dedicating his life to learning as much as possible about everything and everyone. His lifelong quest for wisdom and knowledge brought him to reading a lot of philosophy and ancient texts in order to understand how the universe worked. However, this only exacerbated his eccentricities. He was sent to boarding school in order to send him away from the bullies and social ostracization that plagued him. both because of his condition, and just how fucking weird he is.

Auguste is the tortured artist type. He looks brooding and scary, and generally is pretty abrasive to people upon first trying to meet them. Due to his background in dance, he moves with a grace that seems almost unnatural because of how large he is, and he has the tendency to be a bit morose. He doesn't really put himself out there when it isn't for the sake of performance or art, and doesn't really keep in contact well with people that haven't genuinely tried to become friends with him and is generally a bit cagey about personal information no matter how seemingly innocent it is.

However, once his icy front gets broken, he becomes a genuinely fun guy to hang around. He's surprisingly gentle with the people around him and is a bit of a worry wart for people's general safety around him. He's also a bit of a dork, he really loves Star Wars and knows... really too much about it. That of course implies though that you can get past his passive icy front.

However, it should also be noted that the dark side of Auguste's personality is that he's fighting an addiction to violence. His fear of people is generally linked to his conscience that if he snaps, he knows that the people around him are going to take the brunt of it. Very scary stuff. Though, he does know that anyone around him could snap at any minute as well, also pretty scary.

One last note is that when he's performing, he appears to be much more confident. He is a strict believer in "If you're going to perform, put on a show." His ballet style is often graceful and natural, his jumps powerful and his movements flowing. And while everything seems easy and natural to him, it's mostly because he's spent hours and hours of practicing to make his leaps higher, his pirouettes faster and his movements more graceful when he probably should've been trying to make friends and socializing like a normal person. His biggest downside is that he's 6'7. And dancers of his height are often overlooked because they stick out like a sore thumb in a company, and it's difficult to find partners for them to with.

Before Death
Auguste was born to a dancer and a nurse in Madrid, Spain. He was born with rhythm in his soul and a song in his heart, and began singing and dancing the second he learned to talk and walk. His earliest memories were of learning ukulele and pretending that it was a full blown guitar, which would soon follow suit alongside piano. Him and his father were very close and the family fostered Auguste's creative talents in all things musical, though he also took dance lessons from his father. And then his father died, Auguste was the one that found the body. And his mother's mind never quite recovered from the shock, she decided to move to France to be closer to her family.

After Death
His mother couldn't handle Auguste. He was a spitting image of his father, having inherited his father's white patch, his ice blue eyes, and his melancholic dispositon. So she began forcing him to.. change using varying techniques. And it succeeded. His hair was shaved. He shut down his emotions after a while to save himself grief. And he kept his eyes low on the ground. He made maybe one friend at school, but besides that, he just didn't connect with his peers much. And he was numb. And he was starving constantly. One day, he wanted to eat. And a man saw the starved, slightly crazed look in Auguste's eye. Hired him to fight someone. When the first blows landed, his emotions lit back up. And he came back for more, the sick and the cruel found pleasure in watching children fight each other, even if those children in question were middle schoolers. He was craving any kind of feeling in his life. He soon had an addiction to violence, fighting, and his temper began to reflect that.

And then his growth spurt hit and he was suddenly 6 foot whatever and winning all of his fights and every now and then sending someone to the hospital and his already shaky mental health was starting to spiral even worse. His only friend convinced Auguste to teach him how to play the guitar and dance to impress a girl after he caught Auguste doing some pirouettes to warm his muscles up. One thing led to another, and Auguste began dancing and playing music once more to help his friend. His friend ate up more and more of his time, making him unable to enter the ring again despite his booker's best efforts. And the rush of adrenaline he got from performance was a healthier alternative to fighting; all of the endorphins, none of the icky conscience issues. Until one day, he was back to his normal self, though his band failed after one self-produced album, dancing for a ballet school in Paris. His friend's parents eventually managed to send him off to boarding school in America where he's continued to try to make a name for himself.

Backstory:
Simone is the daughter of a famous Famous fashion designer, so to say she had a privileged childhood would be an understatement. She got to travel the world when she was barely three. Seeing Italy, France, Japan, Korea. She was bought anything and everything she wanted. Completely treated like royalty and was her father's absolute everything. The fact she never knew her mother was always a little hard on her. It had her longing for that female role in her life but later realized it was even more than that. She would watch the models and how beautiful they were and wish more than anything she was that. She would see all the princesses of her favorite movies and didn’t understand why that couldn't be her. She’d demand the dresses from all the movies, and the father was supportive and would give them to her even if at the time it was weird/taboo for little “boys” to be wearing dresses. But at a young age, Simone knew who she was and her father supported her completely. She’s seen a therapist for most of her life even tho she hates them. It’s not just for her trans identity, which she keeps a secret, it’s deeper than that. Simone has always been a little .. off. A little manic, a little angry.. a lot insecure. Simone truly and deeply hates herself and she always has. She hates her hands, her knees, her stomach, the way her hair lays, the way her nose tilts, the mole on her lip, the freckles along her arms, the shape of her ears, the squint of her eyes. Leon was born into a middle-class family, raised with the adoration of his mother and alcoholism of his father. There was plenty of conflict, physical altercations that grew more violent as Leon got older. One mishap had his father shoved down the stairs, dealing a traumatic brain injury and a permanent unresponsive state. There wasn’t a great role model in terms of parenting; A nonexistent dad and a mother who turned to illegal services for gathering income. Ren grew up in a deprived neighbourhood surrounded by crime and bad influences from a young age, for the most part managing to deter falling into the same trap. Being alone a lot, Ren had to focus on looking after himself. He’d make breakfast, walk to and from school, manage extra-curricular, study and always prepare dinner. This routine became an important part of his day, establishing the enjoyment of cooking for those he cares about.

At age 15 he moved to America as an exchange student, an adjustment that wasn’t handled well. Ren’s temper flared, frustration with language and culture changes becoming a cause for conflict. Fights, blackmail and manipulation are only a taste of his more immoral behaviours. He is quiet unless provoked, his presence often going undetected or underestimated by others.

Secret History

Ren hadn’t expected to be paid for it the first time. There was no monetary gain intended, just a meeting that ended in a surprise exchange. He had been confused yet grateful for the handout, unaware a pattern would soon follow. It started with only once, then occasional encounters where he would leave with a roll of banknotes. He rationalized they paid him because they wanted to, therefore it was fine and he wasn’t like his mother. Ren never imagined it could escalate.

‘Clients’ is what he was now meant to call them. They are contacts of usually rich and influential stature, something that brings an unhealthy power imbalance and fear into his life. He has lied about his age and name, providing minimum safety from overbearing patrons. This hasn't stopped scarier situations from happening, and in public he is afraid of being recognised, followed and hurt.

With the income Ren has moved out of a student hostel and into a small apartment. The extra money is sent back to his mother to stop her from pursuing the same line of work. He feels that he has no other choice, intimidation and the need to provide for his family back in Japan keeping him from trying to stop. What started as sex work has shifted slowly towards human trafficking and Ren doesn’t know how to get out of it.

He only takes anxiety medication in situations of stress or fear. They leave him far more mild-mannered, or in higher doses, confused and sleepy. Pleasant as he might be when medicated, Ren isn’t meant to have these drugs in his possession. They’re mostly used to help him sleep.

His high grades have plummeted to bare minimum in reflection of this turmoil. Many would say he’s too lazy to put in any effort but he is doing the best he can.

History:

Magus' father was a Greek immigrant, settling down in Detroit, MI where he opened up his mystic shop and consequently met the love of his life as a customer, he recalls she bought homemade Dragon's Blood soap. Magus was born from a fast-paced romance and grew up in that small, family-owned mystic shop. They had an easy time making friends, especially as the neighborhood was predominantly Greek-American. A little outside that stretch though, is where they met a young boy around the same age, Castor. The two of them really hit it off and Magus adored their sassy friend and was hurt to see him go. But a simple card read told the pair they'd meet again, and Magus gave that six of cups to Castor as a promise of reunion, keeping the now unusable deck safe in an ornate box to await its completion.
The cards spoke the truth as the two of them reunited in high school.
