Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi: Diamond City, Badlands (Gladius IV)

After clearly being pushed off of Jesus, Verdi leaned forwards with her arms stretched behind her. She stared at him angrily before stomping down several times. “Hey what kind of man pushes not only a woman, but a rock-star, and someone who clearly doesn’t want to deal with scary spooky things!?!” Thrusting out her hand she began waggling it dismissively at him, while the android tried to calm down the machine with a few pieces of dialogue.

For a moment Verdi glanced back towards 6O with a glimmer of relief in her eyes. Though she raised up her eyebrows when a name was mentioned. “Solution? Really? By King Victor Emmanuel the Second! They’re a freaky cult chick aren’t they!?” spoke Giuseppe as her pupils grew as she did a double take.

A double-take that revealed that the scorpion was ready to pounce. Squealing again in fear, Verdi practically leaped up, growing quite pale and holding one of her arms in a vain effort to protect herself, while another arm was moving towards her purse. The cultist began to make several declarations, such as assuming she was a strumpet, for sale, and that she even wanted to touch that icky carapace.

Turning towards Solution she began glowering, with a distinctive presence of sparks coming from her eyes as is media tradition. Pointing with her baton she began waggling it menacingly before thrusting her arms to the sky.

“OH NO. NO NO NO NO NO!” Verdi practically screeched out before she snapped a few times with her other hand. “You Austrian Cultists think you can keep the Italian down, to rule where you cannot rule! Your creepy and icky bugs are not even WORTH sharing the same space as me, nor can you buy me! I am Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi, THE HEART AND SOUL OF THE RISORGIMENTO! I am a Rock n Rollah Revolutionary! Through my compositions the people of Italy were able to declare a single message – THAT WE WOULD NO LONGER STAND FOR YOUR TERROR! MY VERY NAME BEATS WITH THE LIFE BLOOD OF REVOLUTION UNLIKE STUPID PEOPLE WHO PREFER BRASS OVER VOCALS! THEY KNOW WHO THEY ARE!”

Raising her baton upwards, it was as if Gisueppe was being surrounded by a smoldering inferno of energy – the rock and roll spirit of the proto-Kingdom of Italy – she let out a final smirk as her teeth glimmered.

“VIVA MUSIK! VIVA VERDI!” And with that, the powerful Musik transformation of the Classicaloid began, symbolizing that she had begun the use of Musik. Her leather-jacket became not only a longer conductor’s jacket more colorful and embroidered with the Italian Flag, with a distinctive anarchy logo upon its back. This was followed by the rest of her attire taking on the reds, whites, and greens of the flag alongside changing to a more spandex attire such as adding a skirt.

The fire roars!

Of course this was not the only notable effect of Musik - the power that came from within the Classicaloids which when released could possess a number of effects. Some of which warped the area around the performance being played, some summoned creatures, while others practically existed in a world of their own. Verdi was conducting the piece known as Stride La Vampa, a song which told the horrors that occurred to the gypsies as a ghostly figure of her mother was warning her daughter. This piece was a remixed version of that classic alongside the backing of heavier rock and roll styling, such as drums and guitar - with the voice singing the piece keeping an operatic tune about it.

Stride La Vampa was a piece which warped the scene around Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi, as some elements remained but the scene over-all was becoming much darker. Well it was darker in atmosphere but it was intensely bright due to the other changes happening around. There was now effectively a shanty town scattered about, simplistic tents that were strung about the area which were smoldering with an intense fire that was not catching onto the rest of the buildings but sticking to the Musikally created sphere of performance.

The relentless mob!

Verdi, styled above a large section of these makeshift tents was in a groove as she knew that keeping this affair going depended on how long she could conduct it. As the song progressed further, ethereal creatures were emerging from the ground and the tents. These ethereal creatures were distinctively Romani in origin, ie. Gypsies, who were clad in scanty attire and all were moaning out in agony from the flames and they slowly shambled reaching out for those around them.

Some appeared more human, as if they were fresher, symbolizing those who were merely burning in the encampment, while others took on a more distinctively transparent appearance signifying the damned gypsy souls. As was their nature of the piece they began looking for those who felt truly felt, in their heart of hearts, that they have been shirking duties and proceeded to scream and letting loose flailing strikes at them.

However according to Verdi's will, a large contigent were driven towards Solution and her pets, as they began flailing, slightly less aimlessly compared to their kindred sisters.

Verdi watched this scene as she began laughing with a great joy, “Oh ho ho ho! WITNESS A REVOLUTIONARY PERFORMANCE THAT HELPED BRING AUSTRIA TO ITS KNEES! ICKY BUGS NOT WELCOME! Please enjoy this presentation and feel awe at seeing Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi perform for you!”

Run to the fire!

Truly this was to be the true start to a spectacular return to performance from Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi!

ZAKU TRAINER COCKPIT

"HAHAHAHA, DIE EARTHNOID SCUM, DIE!"

"Moe."

"FLEE! FLEE IN TERROR AS YOU BEHOLD THE AWESOME POWER OF OUR MOBILE SUIT!"

"Moe!"

"I AM DEATH MADE MANIFEST! TERROR INCARNATE! THE BLOOD OF ZEON FLOWS THROUGH MY VEINS!"

"MOE!"

"WHAT.", Moe said irritably, clearly annoyed at being snapped out of his groove.

"They're not running, Moe."

Moe looked up at the viewport in genuine surprise, finding that the majority of the group had, indeed, completely failed to move or react in any capacity. The soldier was just walking backwards and waving a rifle around, and the girl was just kinda... raising her hands in the air. There was a tiger, too, but it seemed to be mostly there for window dressing.

"What? Bullshit."

"Yeah they're just... They're just standing there."

"Didn't you swing the Heat Hawk?"

"Yeah, made sure to score a close miss and everything."

"Who the fuck doesn't run from a Heat Hawk? It's a big honkin' superheated battleaxe."

"Told you we should have taken the 120mm instead."

"No, that thing's got dogshit for accuracy and it barely even looks like a gun. No intimidation factor."

"Speaking of, someone's shooting at us."

"What?"

"Yeah, check the rear camera."

Sure enough, another random soldier much like the one in front was... firing a pistol at them and presumably scratching their rear armor a bit.

"...Is this a joke? Do they think this is a Leo?", Moe asked, dumbfounded.

"The trenchcoat guy's running, at least."

"Yeah would ya look at him go."

"Want me to toss the Heat Hawk at him?"

"Yeah, fuck it. Not like we need it for these chumps anyway. I'll just stomp 'em and then we break for lunch."

"Sounds good."

BACK ON THE STREET

If it were possible for a vehicle to look disappointed, the Zaku would be an excellent example. Sluggishly dislodging its axe from the pavement (and leaving a long trench of melted asphalt in it's wake), the Zaku seemed to stop for a moment to ponder it's next course of action before raising the weapon overhead and flinging it at a distant office building, collapsing the large prefab across the straightaway and cutting off Oliver's escape route with a combination of concrete rubble, jagged rebar, and a slowly-cooling giant axeblade. It also had the effect of making a suitably dramatic arena for their final showdown with some random goobers the two had just met.

Somewhat revitalized, Moe worked the Zaku's pedals and raised one massive foot directly over the Samus-Alva combo, dropping the mechaboot downwards at high speed in a spirited effort to obliterate them.

"Absolutely." Jolie told Marcus
The service elevator jittered slightly on the way down, but held together. Jolie counted every floor they passed by in her mind, but still kept her gaze on Doctor Crane in case he tried something. The fact that he had no aura still disturbed her, so she wasn't prepared to trust him just yet. She listened to his heartbeat, finding it completely stable. He wasn't nervous or even excited.

She has been proven wrong before though.
The lift doors opened and the three were presented by yet another dimly lit hallway.
"This place used to house some of the more dangerous patients. Before the asylum fell." Crane explained
"This woman was a patient here?" Jolie asked
"No. She didn't arrive until after the hunger's attack." The doctor shook his head "This way."

While he walked on ahead, leading them towards two steel doors Jolie turned to Marcus.
"I don't trust this guy."
Her lips didn't move, in fact she was speaking inside of the half-Terminator's mind.
"Oh, don't worry. It's a Vampire thing. I won't read your mind, it's just easier than whispering. In case the doc hears us."

Marcus heard Jolie's voice inside his head as he replied quietly back to her in his head "I agree. I'd say he's hiding something."

The half terminator eyed Dr. Crane carefully and looked at the two steel doors.

"I'm assuming the most dangerous patients are kept way back there."

  • Genjuro bent backwards to avoid the Demon Sect member's blade, using his staff to vault backwards. As Steve leapt through the air for the tackle, Genjuro slammed him in the back with his staff, sending the American face-down into the muck of water and excrement. While it felt like getting slammed by the Hulk, it certainly wasn't fatal.

"I don't know if you understood me or the man with the sword the first time, so I'll say it again. Get the prisoners topside, before the grey guys- or the swordsman's friends- come back!"

Genjuro opened his guard for a moment, taking several sword strikes about the chest- though any that hit the mirror didn't seem to harm him. Using the force from the knockback, he leaped away from the swordsman and Steve alike.

"There's a lesson they both need to learn. I promise, the fat guy and I will catch up."

Genjuro began tracing along the staff, before spinning it around, splashing fetid water about. Eventually, he brought it in front of himself, straight up and down. The water around the cultist's feet grew hot as it began bubbling rapidly.

"Dowsing Rod of the Eight Immortals: Dance of the Tortoise Springs!"

With that, a geyser shot up from beneath the cultist's feet... as well as several cutting the group off from interfering with the fight. As the geyser erupted, Gen turned his full attention back to the cultist.

    "Let's settle this right."

And like the a domino effect, the situation continued devolving rapidly before Operator 6O, as Verdi's fear turned to anger then to rebellion, with Solution's reactions not helping in the slightest.

"Guys! Hold on we don't have to do this!"

But her pleas fell on deaf ears as Verdi began proclaiming her convictions before playing her tunes and...

Well, honestly the Android had no idea what was happening. The area around Verdi began changing along with her apparel, causing Operator 6O to back up ion confusion as the world around Verdi seemed to alter itself to fit the tone of her song. How was any of this happening? Had the aliens become so strong during the war on earth that their technology had advanced to the point of superseding the laws of reality themselves?!? If that were true then the Great Hunger must only be a smidgen of their capabilities. And to think they could freely give these abilities to their prisoners, of all people.

But she couldn't let this terrifying resolution defeat her, even against these odds she had to ensure that everyone remained safe. And it was clear from the entities that Verdi seemed to be summoning that she was fully intent on initiating combat.

"Wait!" Operator 6O called out to her, trying to be heard over her song "Verdi! She's not from Austria! I'm sure her pet wasn't going to-!"

But a arm reached around her face and clamped a hand over her mouth before she could finish, and Operator 6O struggled a bit before glancing back to see Jesus looking over the increasingly tense scene with a small grin on his face.

Because honestly, he was waiting for a chance like this. To see just what these other Outlanders were capable of, and he didn't even have to start a fight himself. If the potential range of their abilities was anything to go by, they could be chucking boulders at each other any second now. He'd planned on grabbing one of Solution's slaves for a meat shield should he ever need one, but he figured she should have all of them to face whatever music girl had up her sleeve. So original shield it was.

He began dragging the struggling Operator back away from the others, until he realized that if they really did start causing massive explosions, he would need far more distance. So he shifted his hand from 6O's mouth to her head.

Almost immediately she started whining, "What are you doing!?! We can talk them down if we try!"

Her plea shifted into a terrified scream once Jesus reared back with her in his grasp and slung her into the air. He then leaped back atop the roof of Publick Occurrences before reaching out with a hand and catching the falling android in a hover several feet away from him.

"What are you doing!?!" Operator 6O cried as she flailed ijn his telekinetic grasp before "How are you-?"

"Keep quiet and watch, tincan." Jesus said as he knelt down to enjoy the show "If you're so good with intel you'd better keep record of this."

  • The Dark Enforcer: Mos Eisley Badlands (Gladius IV)

"Tch." The Dark Enforcer grumbled, knowing that King was going to mark this as an example of why he won. This would surely be followed by a lecture on his hygiene again, followed by why The Dark Enforcer was more of an ape than a man. This was a clear L in his book, and he would have to accept King's inevitable speech. Well, that is, unless he scored the kill first on such a disdainful target. Then he could at least parlay the deal into a draw, perhaps even a win as kill counts were more important than all others.

Taking up a conservative stance, he held up his metallic arms in a blocky pattern over his chest as he waited. Considering she was utilizing swords, closing the gap was the key for this. And fortunately he didn't have to worry about her trying to utilize distance as an advantage. Not that it'd help her anyways considering he was never outgunned; but Dark Enforcer wanted to settle this how it began.

By using his fists to break that flesh wide open.

The Dark Enforcer began a simple process of opening his knuckles to function as the barrels; as Ilka reached the point of no return, The Dark Enforcer smirked as he swung his left arm for a simple, but effect, cross-jab which as it made its mark against Ilka's head released a shotgun blast, firing out several shells in a simple clumped spread right at her face. All and all, it was a simple, effective, explosive punch that leaves a gory KO and was one of the reasons The Dark Enforcer was banned from several underground fighting circuits. There were many other reasons, ones which King was well aware of, but reminiscing over those stories were for another day.

"...So King, look. It's not usually my style. A true-blue supervillain can only rarely go into certain displays. Buuuuut considering we've got a Make-a-Wish kid..." He gave a sympathetic and knowing stare towards Hunk, "...We can't fight it anymore. THE CHILDREN, THE POOR CHILDREN JUST HAVE ONE REQUEST FOR US. THEY WANT TO SEE US ACCEPT OUR PLACE ON THE TOP OF THE CRIMINAL UNDERWORLD! So, what do you say? Cause we both know, it feels damn good to be gangstah."

Samus quickly snapped her rifle onto her back and, upon seeing the massive suit's foot reach up, leapt into a dead sprint directly aimed at Alva. Time seemed to slow to a crawl for her as every ounce of her focus was directed at ensuring that Alva didn't suffer the same fate as that pasted grease-stain back behind the massive mechanoid. Her form now practically a grey blur, Samus launched herself into a lunging dive-tackle at the woman, and if successful at making contact, she'd wrap her left arm around Alva's back and her right arm around the back of Alva's head; securing the woman from any devastatingly severe injuries as her MJOLNIR's suit and shields would take the full brunt of skidding along the ground at a projected speed of at least 30.1mph from the initial burst. The grey-MJOLNIR clad Spartan flared a golden-white as the friction of the ground was absorbed by the shield; ultimately breaking with a loud 'CRACK!' upon finally coming to rest back-first against one of the Ward's walls. Not to mention, if anything, the feeling of the entire ordeal would be akin to a rollar-coaster ride suddenly stopping with a pretty big static discharge. Samus grunted and spoke over the E-Band "Civilian secure, shield broke but I'm alright!" Before looking over and releasing Alva quickly. "Alva, are you okay?" Samus asked, standing back upright and this time reaching for her M6G as she thumbed the safety off and looked back to the Mobile Suit. Spotting something of interest, she spoke over the E-band once again, "Three, there are exposed joints at the back of the knees. I can draw that thing's attention and you can cripple it from the back. Does that work?" Samus didn't have time to draft plans into a lengthy conversation, but she didn't want to formulate a hasty strategy. She narrowly escaped as it was.

The Sole Survivor: The Commonwealth, The Badlands (Gladius-IV)
Harry was pulled away from the merc as he heard a commotion going on in the town square.
"Hold on." He called over the woman in armour "I'll be back in a bit."
It was the outlanders. Some of which he'd invited in. Realising this, he sighed heavily and ran a hand down his face. There was a fire, but it didn't seem to actually be burning anything.
That was when he saw the people. In amongst transparent humanoids there were human beings writhing around in agony. He immediately charged towards them.
"Get some water!" He yelled

Back before the bombs fell, fires weren't really a problem. Robots seemed to take over the fire service and there were still fire extinguishers everywhere. In a vain attempt to save one of the people, he started to violently pat out the fire on a woman's face while he frantically looked around for any Minutemen.
One ran over carrying a bucket, but he knew it wouldn't be much use.

"Vashta Nerada. Fancy name." Karla smiled "I too am a Queen, well...A Queen in the making. I'm not there yet."
So their new companion didn't like being called a killer? That peaked Karla's interest...For all of a few seconds before she got distracted by a shiny object. It too Gunther to pull her back from touching a button that was probably important.
"A reluctant killer?" He stroked his chin "If only I travelled with this person instead."
"I would introduce you to Gunther properly, both of you but sadly he seems to trapped inside my head. Like I said, I used to think he was imaginary."
"As if you could make me up." He scoffed

Karla pushed the goggles to down around her neck. After all, they would get caught on her horns if she tried to remove them the other way.
"Listen. Whoever you've killed...I'm sure they had it coming. It's not like I can judge. Money, fun and revenge. Sometimes they go hand in hand. In fact, that's the case most of the time."

"But you seem like the kind of person who draws the line somewhere is all I'm saying."

The moment The Dark Enforcer's fist made contact with Ilka's face, spewing shotgun ammo into the serpent's mouth she turned to dust. The first and thus the blast went right through her and sitting at the feet of the cyborg was a pile of salt and dust, covered by the serpent's clothing.

A crowd had been watching the confrontation, likely leftovers from the plane explosion but much smaller in size. Many had run at the first sign of trouble while others just watched the fireworks.

Steve thankfully managed to close his mouth as his face met the dirt of the sewer. His face and beard ended up still covered, but he stood to his feet. It felt like he'd been hit by a bus but that didn't stop Rogers. He didn't have much time to call out the EMT though, for the strange man focused on the sword-wielding alien and pushed the others back with water he appeared to command from inside the sewer.

He understood in that moment why he'd been attacked: It was a contest. The EMT was looking for a one-on-one dual. Thor had talked at great length about such things. Sure, Steve didn't appreciate being kicked into the mud and (judging by the smell) excrement with enough force to probably shatter the bones of a normal man but he wasn't going to hold it against the EMT, at least not in the long run.
He was still an ally, just a very strange one.

With the alien occupied, he went back to focusing on the civilians. The majority had already made it, but a few remained behind. The elderly and those injured. Steve had commanded those who could carry people to do so as they left and yet there were still a few left behind. They were probably just too scared for their lives. He helped an old woman to her feet and onto the ladder.
"Go. I'll be right behind you."

He glanced back at the fight before helping the next person.

"I've been using this room to observe her."

"Don't jump him just yet. I need to get a look at this woman first." Jolie communicated to Marcus. Her eyes were still on Crane, watching as he walked to the mirror and looked down.

She considers for a moment. “Actually, Yes, lets talk about that. If we’re gonna be working together, we should know what each other will and won’t do. We can all agree on no slavery, but what else is off the table for you guys?”

King: Mos Eisley, The Badlands (Gladius-IV)

Before King could reply to Enforcer's prodding about many things, and he had indeed chased off the freaky owlhead dude obsessed with recreating some perfect waifu femme fatale of some sort, baldy's constant prodding and poking had finally been enough and triggered a reaction from Ilka. "Oh boy here we go again, couldn't leave it well enough alone you dipshit", he sighed, not really particularly aggravated by the situation beyond the fact that this effectively turned everything prior into one big waste of time. That did kind of annoy him but he wasn't about to step in and try to stop the fight, one because he figured things were already FUBAR, two because it'd be a giant pain in the ass to pacify them and three because it was still pretty funny.

Deciding this was about as good a time as any to just unwind and relax given any prospect of a job was now gone, the Turk took a moment to walk back into the cantina and quickly reemerged with a disposable cup of coffee in hand, only to find that the "fight" such as it was had already ended. That had to be what, couple of attacks tops? Not really unexpected but still a bummer, though if that was that then it wasn't like he'd missed anything fun. All that was left was the clothes on her, and King did not care to know what weird weapon Chambers had used to get that to happen. Sipping his hot drink, he stepped towards the "body" and prodded what was left with his foot like one does some gathering of fluff or a sort of peculiar rock on the ground. Nothing.

"Well...I did call you expecting a screwjob so funny how that worked out. But fair warning, if I catch you dry humping someone any time soon we're gonna have a fight", he said after a moment of not particularly solemn silence, given he was still sipping coffee. "Right, so, I don't think anyone's asking anything of us given what just happened, but fuck it, fighting criminal empires sounds fun. Bound to have someone good under their paycheck and someone that knows about bikes". He stopped and looked around at the crowd, which was losing interest and rapidly dispersing, before eyeing HUNK who had previously just kinda stood there saying nothing. "You should come along, learn the ropes, see if you get past the rookie stage. I'm sure we can get some good loot".

Then the wheels started turning in his head. Loot. Loot as in money, that thing that this guy wanted and had been offered to them originally. He stared Enforcer dead in the eye as what remained of their would-be transport smoldered on nearby. "So...wait a minute. Wait a minute. Now that I think about it...wasn't that plane supposed to have a load of money on it? You shit?".

The Dark Enforcer, Mos Eisley: The Badlands (Gladius IV)
Lowering his shades, The Dark Enforcer stared nonplussed at the sand. There were a few circumstances that could've resulted in this, but he didn't hear any laughing and calls for vengeance so the most obvious answer was out. He probably just loaded the wrong ammunition for this particular punch. So The Dark Enforcer stood there, for a few moments before he brought both of his palms against his temple as he grimaced.

"AH COME ON! Where's the blood!?" The Dark Enforcer angrily kicked at the sand around at his feet before he retracted his hands from his head. "Shows me for using those rounds, I guess." This was followed by a shrug as he slowly poked his shades back up as he walked a few paces away from the dirt and looked for some nearby bricks to lean against.

Finding none that he liked he simply just paced himself around finding a spot which had a bit less of the sun's glare as he eyed King. "Ah relaaaaax King." The Dark Enforcer waved him off with his right hand as he smirked, "It goes how it goes. Though frankly I'd appreciate a good spar with you."

This was followed by a smirking as he wrung up his hands and began a bit of shadow boxing. Squared shoulders, leading with the front, The Dark Enforcer was pantomiming a few quick jabs as if he was actually against a speed bag. This was followed by him demonstrating some head movement and bobbing in and out. All the while his footwork appeared relatively grounded as if he wasn't bothering with any true bob or speedy pursuing. All and all he was just practicing some simple fundamentals against an imaginary foe.

"Really, in the end, I just gave us an opportunity to do tasks way better than any contract work; after all could we really trust someone to find Artemis FOR you? And I know I wouldn't trust anyone trying to get Yosemite Sam before telling me of where he is." The Dark Enforcer made a quick cross-jabbing motion as he sneered. He could practically feel that red mustache giving way under his metallic appendages.

"Kid! You're gonna have fun! And not only fun but you'll get a share of the profits." The Dark Enforcer spoke to Hunk, with a smirk on his face and a knowing nod. "Just try not to die will you? I'd rather not have to get the bodybag for the tagalong this round."

Then a thought came to The Dark Enforcer. It was a thought he did not think about. It was a thought which was allowed swearing at him. He blankly stared towards the smoldering wreckage of the plane before turning to King. With his mouth agape he did a quick double take to assure that the scene was correct. The Dark Enforcer still saw a plane that had many debris still littering the landscape and still even smoking a bit.

Blinking a few times, The Dark Enforcer grabbed his head and began rubbing it with an intense vigor as his teeth were gritted.

"AWWWWWWWWWWWW COME ON!" howled out The Dark Enforcer to the very heavens, as a lone crow flew above the scene making a distinctive asiatic caw. He knew what the Dark Enforcer did. Grumbling, The Dark Enforcer lowered his stance in a sullen acceptance before grimacing at King.

"...Have I ever told I hate it when you're REALLY right? Like actually and factually correct?"

“Icarus… not sure. I’m pretty sure there’s an earth legend about that. And a ship. A ship getting pulled into a sun and crashing shouldn’t be nearly as funny as it was.”

Solution: Diamond City, Badlands, Gladius-IV

The strumpet, of course, was offended by Solution's assertion. One could refer to a strumpet by any name: whore, trollop, seamstress, prostitute, and so on, and they would react without even acknowledging it. But call them what they truly are, a strumpet, and they shrink back. They have been found out. They have been injured. Solution smiled primly as the strumpet flew into a rage.

The situation began spiraling out of control, as the strumpet hurled herself into a tirade on some injustices done to her. Whatever had harmed her in life, she was now pushing all of it onto Solution. As the strumpet's rage grew, she began spewing a veritable torrent of terror from her baton. The world around her warped and crackled like a fire viewed through a smoky pearl! The shades of the damned howled in terror as ghostly fires lapped at their feet! Solution had experienced something vaguely-but-almost-entirely-not similar to this before: wizardry most foul was afoot.

Solution's entourage drawed closer to Solution herself as a number of shades advanced upon the Shaper. Yugo experimentally lanced a bolt of energy through the nearest shade, disintegrating it and striking a nearby civilian, who immediately fell dead with shock. Within seconds, the disintegrated shade reformed and resumed its pursuit. Solution's gaze flicked from attacking shade to suffering ghost to ghostly inferno to the foul strumpet commanding them. Solution didn't wait to see if the shades could actually hurt her or not; she needed to act now!

"Vile strumpet!" Solution barked at the incorrigible Giuseppi Verdi. "Your magic may terrify these peasants, but it will not faze me!"

"Attack!" Solution commanded, and Aggro eagerly complied. He darted between shambling shade, kicking up tiny clouds of ashy dust with each pawpad. With a horrid snarl somewhere between an industrial grinder and a bull terrier choked with the flesh of innocents, Aggro lunged straight for Giuseppi's off hand with jaws wide open.

Crane raised his hands.
"P-please. Don't hurt me."
"Then answer his questions." Jolie kept her revolver trained against Crane's head
"That woman downstairs isn't human. She has the ability to cause emotions and visions by touching people. One of these led a member of staff, the only other person here aside from myself to take their own life. I've locked her up as there are many people in this world who would use her powers to cause harm."
"Like Lex Luthor?" Jolie asked, getting a nod from Crane
"Not just him, of course."

Alva Bòideach: The Citadel Presidium (Gladius-I)
Oliver dived back as the rubble came inches away from crushing him, throwing dust up into the air that surrounded the man. Thankfully he managed to push Sheeva aside as well and tried to look for another route out. It was no use, the dust blocked his sight and he wasn't about to try and move the rubble himself in case part of it gave way.
He tried to fan the dust aside, to get a better picture of the fight and of the damage.

"I'm fine...I. Thanks." Alva smiled at the soldier, letting her know she was okay.

That changed when she looked behind at the rubble, unable to see her Great Uncle or her tiger through the dust.
"No." She muttered, shaking her head "No...Not them too."
"They took an innocent life, and now they have taken theirs! If you had given me control earlier, they would still be alive! This is your fault!"
"Shut up." Alva placed her hands on her ears "Shut the hell up."
"End them. Child. Kill them all."
"I'm okay!" Oliver coughed "We both are. Don't give in. I'm gonna see if there's a way through!"

She stood to her feet, tightly clenching her fists and facing the meka.
"You need a distraction?" She asked Samus "I'll give you one."
Stretching out her hands, Alva felt for any piece of greenery within range and started to move it. From below and above, the Citadel had a number of plants. Mostly for decoration of course. There was no way she could reach out to them all, but she was going to try anyway.

From below and from behind Alva vines found tiny cracks in the rubble, not large enough for a person (or tiger) to fit through, but enough for a root. Once through, they started to expand and grow to about the width of a human arm. They gathered together and went for the meka all at once.
They probably wouldn't even dent it, but at the very least it would distract or confuse the pilot.

The push was taking it's toll, not helped with trying to keep Gela on a leash inside of the girl's mind. She was angry, and the Fey relished in that.

"Earth? What kind of a name is that? Who names a place just 'dirt'. Must be a shithole."
"I doubt that it's a toilet, Karla. After all, it has a culture like the fine Captain said." The Knight smiled "No civilisation would live in a toilet."
"It's...Nevermind."

She was still getting used to having Richard by her side again. Not that she disliked his quirks in any way, but it was still something she was having to re-learn. Looking over Cortova's shoulder, she watched as a few details came up on the screen.
Giles Icarus was in charge of the ETC, who Karla had actually heard of. Their flying transports were hard to miss, after all. For somebody to run such a company, they'd have to have deep pockets.
That made her smile.

There were a few other details, such as him being from a planet called Tellestia that drew a blank in Karla's mind. An image of Icarus himself was displayed as well as details on where to book transport and one or two smaller details on the heavily armoured and mobile HQ that housed the locomotives.
Cf8VCh7.jpg

"Alright. What do you think?" She asked Cortova "Is he worth talking to?"
Normally she'd take the initiative and go right there, but she had no idea how to fly the ship nor did she want to get on Cortova's bad side. The woman was best friends with a hive mind and that meant a lot of enemies.

MEANWHILE
In amongst the scum and villainy a man dashed down an alleyway, panting heavily. He didn't get a second glance. After all, many people in Mos Eisley were running from something. He frantically looked around and once sure the coast was clear he pushed open a secret door in the side of a building. Like all the best secret doors, it was disguised as a bookcase.
"Boss." He said "The Serpent is dead."

The boss chuckled, slapping his knee.
"That lilly-livered varmin were never a problem! A corn snake!"
"I know..." The mook chuckled "It's who killed her that's the problem."
"Oh?"
"The Dark Enforcer is still alive."
"I put enough explosive in that plane to kill a long-eared galoot! How?!"
"I dunno, man. The trap was a bit obvious..."

In response, a gunshot went off and the goon was sent out of the room holding his tuccus and screaming while more bullets whizzed past him.
"I'm the hootinist, tootinist shootinist bob-tail cat in the West. I will not be bested by a baldie with big fists!" The boss yelled, firing his dual revolvers wildly.

He stopped himself, noticing that his left hand was shaking. Forcing a smile, he continued "Devoured every world. Doom managed to hold it back and that's when we ended up here."

ZAKU TRAINER COCKPIT

"Stand still, damn you!", Moe shouted angrily as the pair skidded out from under his boot. He probably could have just swept the Zaku's foot to the side and sheared them against the pavement, ending their short, pathetic, probably-Earthnoid lives just as quickly as he had ended that of his comrade, but it lacked a certain panache that was expected of all goose-stepping ecoterrorists the world over. Who wanted to hear a story about "that time it took me a couple tries to squish an Earthnoid"? Stevens, that's who.

And nobody liked Stevens.

"Moe, that chick's doing the spirit bomb pose again."

A series of what appeared to be green cables erupted from the rubble at the end of the street, presumably in response to whatever space voodoo the kid was working. That, or their reckless behavior had unsealed yet another long-forgotten apocalyptic warmachine. Those things were basically the space version of dinosaur bones.

"...Five bucks says that's a psycommu thing."

"I dunno, man. Her hair color's stupid enough that I'd lean Coordinator. Maybe even X-Rounder."

"Five bucks. You in or not?"

"I'll take that, sure. Hey, can we reroute power to the right arm?"

"You sure? Because I can dodge that. Like, ninety percent sure we can just dodge that."

"There's something I always wanted to try with these things. Do a bladed stance, I'm gonna need good footing."

THEN, ON THE STREET

The Zaku shifted it's right leg back into something resembling a karate stance, pitching it's weight backwards as the massive clump of plant life boiled forth to meet it. The Zaku's loudspeaker crackled to life as Curly shouted his sweet little spaceman lungs out into the mic.

"THIS HAND OF MINE IS BURNING RED!"

The Heat Hawk connector ports on the Zaku's hand sparked to life, the machine's palm glowing bright red in the light of the midday sun.

"IT'S BURNING GRIP TELLS ME TO GRASP VICTORY!"

"Curly is this going to take much longer."

"HERE I GO! ERUPTING! BURNING! BITCHSLAAAAAAP!"

The Zaku's hand and body came forward all at once, rubbery plant flesh meeting hard, unyielding steel that was also very possibly on fire, splattering uncomfortably warm plant goo across the street and the Zaku's chassis as if the vines had been so many hamsters in a microwave.

"HEAT END!"

"...You done?"

"Yeah, I'm good."

"Well I hope you're happy with yourself, 'cause you got space goo all over the monoeye! How the hell am I supposed to stomp anything when I can't see?"

"Not my circus, not my monkey. And you totally owe me five bucks."

"Not 'till we check that rubble for a Raffelesia, I don't. Psycoframe suits are always stupid bullshit like that."

Shoe-Snatchin' Willy: Citadel Space, Gladius-I

Willy's escape pod soared through the heavens, riding in a shimmery envelope of bluespace energy. The pod only had a two-way radio and enough life support systems to support two people, and Willy had been drifting for several hours. As Willy looked out the single window of his pod, he considered the chance of running into anybody out in space, let alone someone who could help him.

Right before Willy's eyes, a faint glimmer of light began growing in front of him. The light grew into a constellation of multicolored lights, then a dense fleet of ships. Jutting out from the middle of the fleet was a brightly-lit monolithic space station. From Willy's view, it looked like he was on a collision course with the monolith, and he was coming in fast!

Willy flipped on the radio system, and began frantically calling into it. "Escape Pod Willy to Space Station Whatever, change your bearings! I can't steer this damn thing! Space Station Whatever, please respond!"

There was no response from the radio. Willy didn't know the frequency, didn't know what encryption methods the space station used, and didn't know if the people manning the station were human, Grey, Skeleton, Vox, or so on. For all he knew, he could be screaming into some filthy poxy birdbrain's ear, and it would be going straight out the other one.

"Shit. Shit. Shit" Willy repeated. The Citadel was getting closer, and he could do nothing to change that. To Willy's horror, a ship appeared right in his pod's path; he was going to crash! The ship's cargo bay opened up, a mysterious beam of light enveloped Willy's pod, and... the pod tore straight through the ship. Oh shit, Willy thought, this pod's all bluespaced up! I'm going to go through this thing! The distant screech of metal and decompressing air faded behind his pod, as Willy's pod continued its unstoppable approach.

The Citadel blocked everything else from view, as Escape Pod Willy tore ass through space towards it. "SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!" Willy screamed, clutching the side of the metal foldout chair all escape pods come equipped with. "MOVE YOUR GODDAMN STATION!" he howled into the radio, to nobody in particular. Escape Pod Willy tore through the Citadel's hull and shielding like an Immovable Rod through a hapless assistant, leaving it wide open to treacherous space!

Escape Pod Willy shredded the Citadel's interior with no resistance whatsoever. All Willy could see was a constantly-shifting kaleidoscope of ruined floors, with an occasional instant of some terrified moron getting splattered by the pod's mighty energy field. Mere seconds after breaching the massive Citadel, Willy's pod had already reached the Zeon District. There, Willy felt his stomach lurch, as some weird, dense field of particles interfered with his pod's field. He was actually slowing down! Not actually slow enough to notice anything that was happening, but just slow enough that he'd probably splatter horribly against the next district he slammed into.

Willy's slowed-down pod struct an edge of a building at an odd angle, and he skidded downward into the busy streets below, right into the path of some...blurry large green shape. With all the speed of the world's smallest space colony striking the world's smallest continent, Escape Pod Willy slammed into the street-bound Zaku's head, and punched straight through.

Escape Pod Willy continued its journey downward, reducing both of its pilots to a spray of chunky salsa and machine oil. He tore through the ammo storage, then through the crew barracks/chapel, then the dining cubby, and even the posterior cargo bay, before touching down on the concrete below. Miraculously, tearing through the mech had provided just enough resistance to stop his pod entirely! The pod's rear-mounted bluespace impulse drive sputtered into silence, taking its bluespace energy envelope with it. At last, Willy's collision course had ended, and he was... miraculously intact!

Willy cracked open the escape pod doors (currently located directly above him), managed a dazed pull-up out of the door, and tumbled off the side of the pod to the street. He noticed a few stunned randos around him; a couple in armor, a couple in suits. "Hey-hey, guys!" Willy called out to them, cracking a dumb smile. He pointed to the escape pod behind him. "You would not believe who was piloting that thing!"

Alva Bòideach: The Citadel Presidium (Gladius-I)
Just as Alva was thinking about her next move, a pod tore straight through the meka and it was destroyed. There hadn't even been enough time to slow it's decent.
First, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"I really hope that was just a robot. I mean, they can fix it, right? It'll be fine. Even if they can't, I'm sure they can recover the chip or whatever."
She noticed the salsa-like remains of the pilots. If she could still vomit, she would.

Even if the Zeons had tried to reduce her, her remaining loved ones and a few others into paste she was still pretty horrified by the loss of life. Still, it looked like an accident so she wasn't going to hold it against whoever emerged from the pod.
A clown. A somewhat chubby clown in suspenders who thankfully, didn't look hurt despite his violent crash landing.

So many times the monster of the week had been a killer clown of some kind, but who was she to judge? Not every clown was a murdering psychopath armed with explosive custard pies, a super-soaker filled with acid and a red nose that operated a self-destruct device. Bump had taught her to treat every clown with the utmost suspicion, but they'd also taught her a bunch of other things that didn't add up at all. So she ignored it.

"Holy crap. Are you okay?" She asked the clown "That was, uh. One hell of a fall."

It wouldn't be long before other Zeons would be after the group and she didn't think they'd buy the idea of an escape pod suddenly appearing, causing a ton of damage and crushing some of their own into paste. Alva couldn't be sure on how many people were inside of the mecha, as their remains were more like a red jelly.
Again, if she could vomit she would've.

"Sir." She called over to the clown, the last time she lied, it got someone killed
"There's people trying to kill us. They'll kill you two if they find out about this accident. We kinda need to run."
Straightforward and truthful, she just hoped the clown would believe her.

"I managed to shimmy some of the rubble out of the way. It's not big, but if we crawl through..." Oliver stopped in his tracks, seeing the flaming wreckage of the mecha and the escape pod. "Oh."
"Yeah..." Alva rubbed the back of her neck
"I hope that was a robot. They could at least recover it's chip or something."
"It wasn't."
"Well, bugger me."
