The Mad Queen The Mad Queen I notice you still haven't responded to me. Is there a reason for this?

Also, I'm really questioning your and Specialist Specialist 's strange insistence on backtracking to previous areas. Is there something you wanted to do in Little Zeon that you hadn't mentioned? Because making a point to go up there, actively note that there's no Zekes in Little Zeon, and then go on to note that there's random refugees milling about and failing to mention the existence of, for example, the aforementioned rubble or giant gaping holes in the space station or collapsing infrastructure or exposed nuclear reactor (the one specialist mentioned previously) kinda makes me think you have some sort of vested interest in going back there to the point where you'd actively ignore previous happenings.

Could one of you explain? I'm gonna keep things moving in the interests of time but I'd just like to remind everyone, DrBones DrBones included, that it's a little difficult to accommodate people when they don't tell you what they want.

The Mad Queen The Mad Queen But what does the gear you take to your weekly game have to do with your character sheets from several unrelated games in the past that you apparently only had one copy of the character sheets for and gave to your GM? I mean, all that really does is highlight to me that you know how much a GM takes to a game, so why would you make them keep track of your character sheet too? That just seems like a dick move.
Also, for how many sessions did this run, exactly? Because this seems like a really complicated setup you had for such a basic system.

So there's a few reasons for that.

1. Due to the simple system the GM only brought a file full of character sheets and kept her notes on her phone. She kept everyone's sheets and wasn't the only GM to do so within our group.
I kept the sheets for the games I ran, like I said and so did all the other GMs in case someone forgot their sheet one week. We'd agreed to this as it had happened before and it also stopped players from cheating. The guy who broke up my game kept his sheets and was very protective of them, which should have been a red flag.
Thankfully only he and some other guy were guilty of that but since then it was just a precaution.

2. We were in a larger group and as I'm assuming you've been in tabletop games yourself you'd know some people can be unreliable. For that reason her game started off as the go-to if you were planning on running a game but the players didn't turn up. There were I think six games going on that we swapped between each week.
So she kept the file and would pull it out for such an occasion. It became pretty much the main game later on due to the reason I mentioned above.

As for the number of sessions, hoh boy. Game ran for almost 2 years and had two different GMs, with a third running four in total. There was a timeskip from modern day to the 2030s as well, and at least 10 sessions around time travel.

Missed your post at first.
The backtracking was unintentional. Going by Specalist's post I assumed that the group had moved on, given they were on their way out of little Zeon and had their escape blocked by a giant mecha. Like they were in a new part of the Citadel but one not too far away from where Little Zeon cut off.

Exactly. Entirely unintentional, since I'd though from Shining Wizard Shining Wizard 's previous post that 'Harold' roundhouse'd Torgo into the wall of where we came from, being that the bot was in front of us as we were making our way down the tunnel.

Okay so let me make sure I have this straight:
Specialist Specialist decided to have their character highlight a maintenance shaft that was perfectly identical- and directly adjacent-to the previous shaft, didn't actually note it was different in any way, and then just... stood there. While being chased by a giant death sphere that explicitly and demonstrably pinballs people around at skeleton-destroying speeds which is moving at a speed slightly faster than your slowest party member's top speed.

And then The Mad Queen The Mad Queen had said slowest party member climb the shaft. While everyone was still being chased by the aforementioned murder orb.

Am I getting that right? I'd like to have this all down before I make edits.

Though this still doesn't explain the constant attempts to return to the presidium prior to, after, but surprisingly not during the Zaku encounter.

I suppose if Sleek Sleek or DrBones DrBones had any suggestions still time to chime in as well.

Shining Wizard Shining Wizard Imagine this:

The Zaku Reactor detonates, and everyone jumps down the manhole-cover like grate under Torgo's advice. Upon going down, they are greeted with a long, slightly curved matinence tunnel. Assuming as it normally would be, a tunnel's basic layout always has a point A and B. While taking the lead and walking down said tunnel, with Torgo somewhere either behind, adjacent to, or in front of Seven, the sphere known as Harold powers up in front of them, blocking their path and thus sending Torgo (who made contact I'd be assuming), all the way back into the wall where they came from. A Spartan-II knows to either fight or fall back in close quarters, and this would be no different. Choosing the latter, that's exactly what she did mainly under Alva's directive to pry Torgo from the wall in which she was embedded.

Specialist Specialist Alright I'm just gonna pass over the explosion thing because explaining what minovsky particles do and how mobile suits function is a bunch of dumb boring minutae you really don't have to worry about outside "minovsky particles cause blanket interference to any and all forms of radiation". Also, yes, Torgo touched the boulder, she specifically touched the boulder, this is stated in the post, this was to demonstrate what the boulder does when you touch it so you didn't try to stand there and shoot at it again.

But regardless, this is sort of the point. There's a big angry rock chasing you. You double back. You decide to leave through a shaft which is completely identical to the one you just came down, and positioned in the same direction and at no point do you actually note this is a different entryway from the one you just used five minutes ago.

Do you understand how this could be mistaken for a desire to backtrack, or at the very least something that could cause confusion easily?

So yeah, this part's always awkward but basically it's become clear this game has lost all momentum and rather than wait for the inevitable sad, slow grind to a halt as everyone's posts tank in quality until they can barely be assed to string together four vaguely-related sentences once a week because reading am hard I'm gonna just cut this off here, because that shit is painful and feels like a chore. I hope to meet you all in another internet pretend someday soon, Specialist Specialist DrBones DrBones you're good guys, I like you and hope we can meet up in an environment where we're all on the same page.

Also just as a word of advice, The Mad Queen The Mad Queen don't write Torgo, seriously, don't, it's for the best considering how I've seen you handle NPCs. Toss her in a wastebin if you need to, but just... Don't, okay? It's not cool to do that to a PC, even one that's gone offline.

That being said, I hope we can do another thing sometime, you've been a great foil. Maybe something with dice since that's apparently more your wheelhouse?

Anyway, peace.

Understandable, sorry to see you go.
I'll just have it that they lose Torgo on the Citadel as it feels wrong to kill her off, if that's okay with you that is.

Freshet Freshet Ennuis Ennuis Specialist Specialist GrieveWriter GrieveWriter Shining Wizard Shining Wizard The Mad Queen The Mad Queen Sorry about ghosting you guys, but I don't think I've got the willpower to keep posting in this RP. I'm feeling a weird lack of direction in the story, and the main plot (as far as I can tell, it's about the Skaven?) just didn't really drag me in. Then we started mucking around with barely tangential crap that I don't think most people knew how to respond to (in retrospect, it might have been good if The Mad Queen The Mad Queen discussed what a player was planning on doing when it looked like they wanted to go in a different direction), and I sorta realized there wasn't anything happening that I or my characters have much stake in.

I hope the RP goes well for the rest of you, and I might see you around in another RP!

So, I won't go into much detail but some IRL stuff is becoming a little bit too heavy as of late and I think a lot of you saw this coming anyway but I'm deciding to step back from the RP. I haven't really been that active lately anyhow.
Not calling it or pulling the plug, just realising it would probably be better if I stepped away. Maybe till things cool down on my end, or maybe permanently. I won't know for a few weeks.

I can still be found on RPN as I might stick to being a player from here on out and I'm on discord too.
Even though the RP was rocky from the beginning, it's been fun.
