Music Ghost Stories - Coldplay

I'm a hardcore Coldplay lover (I loved all of their albums except Mylo Xyloto) and their new album Ghost Stories just came out today. It is WAY different then any of their old albums and I, personally, don't like it nearly as much as Parachutes, A Rush of Blood, X&Y, and Viva but what do you think? Do you like Coldplay's new direction?

Heeeeeey coldplay fan (Ironically one of my favorite albums is Mylo Xyloto ; v ! I agree that is pretty different than what they've done in the past, but it's not a bad different, I think. It's not a favorite of mine yet but i'm sure loving what i'm hearing so far (it's pretty short though compared to their old albums though. Only /NINE/ songs ;-; )

I'll agree with you on that the minimalist feel isn't a bad feel. It's not nearly as expressive or powerful but it's pretty. I think O is my favorite so far.

I really like Oceans and Ink, and the Magic is a given since it's chorus is my new ringtone ; v ;


An ti is really pretty, sets the mood for writing/drawing without it being completely instrumental.


The shortness really kinda gets to me though. Like-- why so short? the world may never know.

I can agree with all of that. I detested the whole album at first but it's kinda grown on me. Like you said, it's awesome background music and it's really easy to listen to because of it's minimalist feel. It's not gonna be my favorite album but I was expecting a lot worse xD

Imagine the concert for/with the theme of that album though!!! Like it wont be as energetic as MX but with the right lighting and effects they could really set the mood and man im really regretting the fact that i missed the 2012 concert ;-,

That is going to be pretty great the whole album has really grown on me. It sucks. Because of where I live (and I'm not going to tell you where because duh xD ) I'm probably never gonna get to see em in concert. All I want is to see The Scientist live that's my favorite song of all time.

I know they've done concerts in my area before, but i was too young the last time they came, i think. But if there was one song id want to see live, it would have to be either Charlie Brown or Life in technicolor II


Then again i'd just be happy to see them live

Yeah that makes sense. I've only recently got into their music so I've been oblivious to them for quite some time. Hahaha true that live period is good.
