  The city of Disenchanted has always been a hotbed of paranormal activity. Since the founding of it over three hundred years ago, something about the location has drawn ghosts, ghouls, gremlins, gnomes and all the other things that start with g, as well as all the things that don't start with g. But the majority of the modern day public aren't aware of this. Not in the slightest. Why? Because of the diligent work of paranormal agencies.
  
  
  Back in the early 2000's there was a building occupied by a group of gifted and otherworldly individuals, brought together by a strong figurehead. Utilizing all their gifts they kept everything that goes bump in the night under wraps. While folks were waiting in line for their morning Moonbucks coffee, they were trudging through sewers after man-eating monstrosities. Their afternoon rush was getting to the five different sighting locations before things got too hairy. Their daily toil was all for the sake of those innocents within the city who would have otherwise been caught in the path of something nasty. But, much like the creatures they dealt with, hardly anyone knew of their existence.
  
  
  The keyword there is "hardly".
• ___ is a start-up agency full of fresh faces on the scene, bringing the total of agencies picking up the mantel within Disenchanted up to six. Their place of business is a converted two bedroom house a little bit outside the heart of the city. It's not much, but it's a good place to make roots and attempt to grow. Currently the agency is made up of seven individuals:
  
  
  

  The Leader

  The one who bought the house and got this menagerie of individuals together in the first place. Whether you're experienced in the field from working with another agency, or just a curious individual who was looking for an adventure, you're in this to win this - though we're not sure what you think the prize is. You've got a good head on your shoulders at least, and your charisma seems to keep the others from simply wandering off.

  The Workhorse

  The one responsible for all the paperwork that The Leader doesn't feel like dealing with. You're also the one the team turns to for coffee and doughnut runs, fixing the light bulbs, unclogging the toilet and a variety of such mundane tasks. It's both a tiring and (debatably) rewarding position. You're a pretty damn dependable individual, and the others know this whether you like it or not.

  The Secretary

  Possibly the most misleading title for the group, you don't exactly take calls and keep schedules all day. In fact, that only takes up a small portion of your time, what with the place barely wet behind the ears. What you're really good at is the techno stuff. Computers and gadgets simply speak to you, and the day you don't have some kind of an electronic device on you is the day the moon is confirmed to be made of cheese. Between you and The Leader, covering up your tracks is way easier.

  The Occultist

  You like creepy things. You've probably liked creepy things for some time now. You were probably also the weird kid in school who dabbled in a little Wiccan candle magic, which made you feel like you had a real connection with otherly things. Or maybe all that stuff others have read about is your reality. Whatever the case is, your vast knowledge on all things supernatural is a core component within the agency - movie-based or otherwise.

  The Muscle

  When something goes bump in the night, you're the one to punch it in the face and tell it to shut up and sit down. Maybe you're a trained individual, maybe all your skills are innate. Or maybe you just liked watching kung-fu movies and got buff from practicing moves on the weekends. What we do know is that you can kick some serious ass. You're also the one that got tasked with bringing all the furniture into the place, along with The Workhorse. The Leader still owes you tacos for that.

  The Medic

  You're the sole reason that someone hasn't lost a finger or toe just yet. Perhaps you're a certified nurse looking to expand into a different (read as "less financially rewarding") field. Maybe you're just a health nut who caught The Workhorse bringing over doughnuts, had a fit and demanded to join. Or, even further, you have an affinity for otherworldly cure-alls. Either way, you've dedicated yourself to having a First Aid kit on hand at all times when around this group.

  The Mascot

  Yes, you are an actual factual supernatural creature. Yes, you have fancy powers and may or may not be able to transform/go invisible/set yourself on fire/some other cool and intimidating ability. Yet here you are. Somewhere along the line you screwed up big time, and now you're stuck to one of the individuals employed at this agency. You're a bit of an early warning system for the bad time that might be heading towards the group, so you see quite a bit of action. You also get teased quite a bit by any creatures that catch wind of your predicament.

Yo-ha, bro-has~! I had this little idea floating around in my head, and I wanted to toss out this interest thread to see how into it peeps might be. Per usual, this is still a work in progress, as seen by the fact that there's no name for the agency just yet. o u o;;;

I'm extremely interested in this! I have a few questions to ask beforehand though. Mainly, do you have a post length requirement, how fast do you intend this RP to be, and most importantly how will you be accepting characters. Will this be a first come first serve style or will it be based on judging sheets?

I'll be going for illustrated pictures. So while I myself will be slummin' through zerochan and safebooru, I'll totes accept more realistic art like stuff you might find on DeviantArt.


Just as long as it isn't an actual picture of an actual person.

I think of myself as a fairly lax roleplayer. While I'll be labeling this as a Detailed roleplay, it's more for the content I'm expecting from others than the actual length. I've seen a person portray their character well, along with giving the person they were interacting with enough to roll with, and they only wrote up a few sentences. It was cray-cray, yo.


But if I had to put a length requirement... two paragraphs? Yeah~ That gives a little more push than Casual but doesn't push as much as Detailed~

I myself will be running this on the slower side and say an IC post a week'd be cool. At some point I'm looking to get a job, and in the fall I'm gonna start up college and stuff, so there might be times where I'm just like "Go on without me...!" in a super dramatic fashion. Though with that, anything past a week without a notice in the OOC of life happening'll end up with me giving the clear for whoever is interacting with said character to move on. Two weeks'll end up with me opening the slot again. Giving a heads-up for things that peeps are able to give a heads-up to is just common roleplaying courtesy, yo.


I'm only going to be accepting a handful of characters, but I won't be doing so on a first-come-first-served basis. Once I start accepting profiles there'll be roughly a week (give or take days for when I find myself infected by life) in which I'll be taking in and reviewing the profiles for the slots. After that time is up I'll cut off profiles and take a little time to review them all. Then - in some kinda grand announcement - I'll reveal those that've been accepted into the open slots! Those individuals will have a window of three days to get back to me on if they're still interested in the spot, and if not then the slot gets passed on to the next applicant in line on my list.
