"According to Karkat, the King and Queen get their power from our prototypings. As we didn't use anything useful, they shouldn't be that strong."

You were probably still distracted by that nagging feeling that you were forgetting something. You were not normally one for planning, so... You kept trying to remember whatever you just could not put your finger on.
