Rise of Albion
THE STORM WILL COME
-
Every movie has a climax. The moment that creates the utmost tension, suspense and drama. The audience is held on the edge of their seats, waiting with anxious excitement to discover whether or not their favourite characters would be able to survive. These events are always the most devastating, memorable and painful. As the characters are forced to endure them, the audience is reminded that they never want to be a part of that situation. Of course, the favourite character will never die but that's purely for the ratings and the continued happiness of the customers. What would happen if you were trapped in that situation?
Fiction becomes reality when a small group of teenagers are kidnapped from their ordinary lives and forced to endure through the sick fantasies of a madman. You wake up in a dark room, chained to a wall, unable to move. Five strangers are regaining consciousness around you, all in the same conditions. That's when you notice a speaker set into the wall just behind your head. Sound crackles and your assaulter reveals that you are now under his control. He forces you and your new companions into the most dangerous, live-threatening situations of the most famous movies. Every living thing that remains in the world is out to kill you. You will wake alone, be forced to find each other and then discover a way out. Because if you die in the game, you die in real life.
There might be a final way out, but who can be sure? The best way possible is to fight for survival and to work with or against the one girl you meet who doesn't seem to have another agenda. Can you both make it out alive? What about romance? In a time of great struggle, is their still time for love?
- Regular site rules apply.
- When events become too intimate (NC-17+, R), please fade to black or continue on through pm.
- Literacy is the biggest requirement. Posts need to be detailed and lengthy, preferably two to three full paragraphs each. Not all of it needs to be dialogue, it can be the character's thoughts about current circumstances or even about past experiences and their own relationships. It keeps the rp at a sophisticated level and also helps you to improve your own writing skill.
- NO ONE LINERS.
- Do not start rp-ing until I have accepted you.
- If there are no more spots left, then don't apply. I'm not going to open more up unless the rp has died.
- Have you read the rules? Then put your character's favourite movie or song into the personality section. Just merge it in. Don't bold or italics or anything. I read them all. You don't have to worry. Ignore the last rule (no. 14).
- Please be original with your characters. I want depth and personality, no Mary-Sues, Gary-Stus and no stereotypical characters. Don't have your female be strong all the time. People cry and people hurt and it takes awhile to get over it.
- Relationships do not happen over night. Heat of the moment, yes, but there are going to be repercussions of that. One night stands happen, yes, but don't have them fallen in love over that or together in a relationship. That's why it's called a one night stand. No falling in love at one go.
- Characters evolve and develop. It's okay if your character isn't the same as your had her/him at the beginning.
- Do not fight against me. I can/might/will block you from the rp if you disobey these rules, annoy me, fight with others or anything else.
- If you have read the rules, please place 'Survive the Game' at the end of your application.
"In life, you don't make any real choices. That right is always taken away by someone else."
Name: Elizabeth Alice Florence
Nickname(s): Lizzie, Eliza, Lizabeth
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Personality:
Elizabeth is a gentle-hearted, naive woman with an innocent view of the world who always strives to do the ethically right thing. That means no stealing boyfriends, cutting it low on one night stands, and giving a second chance to everyone. The law is her guideline, and unlike most others of whom don't mind it, breaking rules is not a comfortable experience and she will often be the unwilling participant. She cannot break someone's heart without breaking her own, meaning that she is often the one left in the deep end. However, she is constantly doubting herself, her decisions and her importance and worth. This is not only about trying to save the world, but also about not wanting to appear to be a failure.
Inherantly loyal, Lizzie would do absolutely anything for her friends and the people that she cares about. She tries not to be mean, so will instead cry out her emotions with a tub of ice-cream and some chocolate. Her mental strength, however, is incredibly stronger than can be assumed from simply looking at her. She can be broken, but she will always learn and always bound back. It has not been strange for her to pick up stray, hurt animals and care for them until they're healthy again. She isn't able to hold grudges for very long and can forgive people just as easily. She has a terrible short memory, and is always forgetting her keys, events, things she has to do, Her navigation skills are terrible, and she cannot be counted on to get somewhere. She's also in love with being in love.
History (Optional): To be revealed in rp.
Writing Sample (300 words):
Elizabeth grimaced and turned her face up to the rapidly darkening skies to let out a groan of complete and utter despair. Unsurprisingly, on the day that she needed it most, she had managed to leave her little umbrella at home again. Earlier that morning, she had left her house thinking to herself that finally she had remembered everything that she could possibly need for the coming day. Of course you couldn’t, she thought bitterly to herself, pulling out her phone so she could get an estimate of how far she would be forced to walk in the coming rain if she decided to try and make it to the closest bus stop, an umbrella painted with little forget-me-nots. More like forget-me-all-the-freaking-times. I am unbelievable.
Tiny rain drops began to splatter against the inner city pavement causing people to scatter to shelter like bugs away from a shoe. She wrinkled her nose as the water touched her skin and rose a hand to wipe it away, only to find her attempts promptly ruined when the full force of the storm was released only moments later. Lizzie ruefully pulled her jacket hood atop her head, drew her shopping bags closer towards her and hurried down the now empty street to the little café her mother had informed her to wait at. Over two hours left until her mother had notified her that she would pick her up, and without a phone, genius that she was, she would be forced to spend her time doing absolutely nothing. Wet season in Australia meant that storms were often fierce and often far from being light showers. Maybe at one point she would decide to brave the rain and winds to get to the large shopping complex, but as she didn’t fancy becoming drenched any time soon, that was quickly becoming an unlikely option.
With a sigh of resignation, Elizabeth pulled her fiery red hair over one shoulder and walked up to the counter with a sad smile. “One iced chocolate please, and maybe a muffin to pass the time.” She could only thank the gods that she had remembered to bring her wallet and her money on that trip.
