  the year is 1880, and you're a monster hunter in the american old west.
  
  your job is simple — to kill as many supernatural creatures as you can. you work in a team of six, each one of you with a completely unique, different story of your own. together you've survived your toughest battles and weathered many storms.
  
  but there is one particular thing that sets you apart from the rest.
  
  you've got supernaturals amongst you.
  
  it's a bit of a secret. none of the other hunters know the truth about who yall really are. nor are you in much of a hurry for them to find out.
  
  it has a lot to do with the original founder of your group not wanting to turn their back on those in need. they firmly believed that not all supernaturals were truly evil and never hesitated to take in anyone they thought could use some help. after all, supernaturals used to be just like everyone else at one point — normal. but then, somewhere along the way, fate must've took a wrong turn and they ended up the way they did.
  
  didn't mean they deserved to die.
  
  so — that's how you and your little ragtag group of hunters came to be. some of you mortal, some not. all of you extremely capable hunters in your own right, choosing to stick together for all sorts of various reasons: money, friendship, the need to be watched over so that the nature of your being doesn't take control of you and you accidentally kill someone. it's an arrangement you're perfectly content with and plan on sticking to for a while —
  
  — which, by the way, has led you all the way up to this point here and now, outside a bustling saloon smack-dab in the middle of a town called salvation, wyoming. it's a popular location for hunters to gather to drink and rest and pick up jobs.
  
  simultaneously, the musgrove gang just rode into town. their name is certainly the kind to turn heads. they're a team led by two brothers — twins, as a matter of fact. everyone knows they're the best hunters around, with a reputation for being efficient, professional, and extremely ruthless.
  
  story goes they took a job once to hunt down a werewolf. a simple task, really, one that didn't require much effort. they ended up catching them, a process that took a total of three whole days. but instead of riding back to town to collect the bounty, they stayed back. rooted out the entire pack just for the fun of it, women and children included.
  
  it was a real bloody mess.
  
  the sight of the carnage made even the most seasoned hunters cringe. not surprisingly, the musgrove's got plenty of other stories just like that one attributed to them. but nobody does anything to stop them, either. put it simply, they are feared and respected by all. nobody fucks with them, unless they got some sort of death wish.
  
  not wanting to cause any problems, you and your team've kept it fairly cordial with them over the years. for the longest time you've stayed out of their way and they've stayed out of yours.
  
  but little do you know, somewhere, somehow, somebody picked up on your little secret.
  
  and it's only a matter of time before you wind up in the musgroves' crosshairs.

  general things to know:
  
  this is gonna be chill lit. don't feel like you have to post a massive novel for every post. if you're vibing and want to write a lot, go for it. but there's no pressure. i understand we're all adults with busy lives and want writing to feel fun, not like a chore. so let's not make it that.
  
  if you're gonna be mia for a while just let me know and we can figure something out. if you go completely dark for long stretches of time and i haven't heard from you, i will kill off your character off to further the story.
  
  also. i don't give a fuck about post formats. be fancy. don't. all i care about is the writing. for everyone's sake though, please make sure the following information is located either at the top or bottom of your post: name, location, and who your character is with.
  
  on applying: as you can see, there aren't any specific roles. you have free reign to develop your character and make them your own. do keep in mind that just because you submit a profile doesn't mean you're automatically accepted. there will be a cut-off date and i will be screening profiles very closely to make sure there aren't overlaps with another character. if i see two characters i like, i will simply ask both of you to slightly shift gears, and we can go from there!
  
  and while i'm on the topic of characters — real life faceclaims only. don't come up in here with that AI bullshit. if you think i wont notice those funky looking fingers, then you're dead wrong.
