Fires burn in the streets, and you're there, judgin' me? Get your head on straight; and stop flexing your words, for the time for them has passed. This will be the protest of the century, for we have been unheard for far too long. Guns don't stutter.

Welcome! This is an idea I've had for a hot minute, and I hoped people here would be interested in it. It's a casual/detailed Rp revolving around the gang violence in Great Britain as of right now. Things have been getting out of control, is there a gang that will finally rule them all? Pound Gang has been around for ages, starting in the 18th century. Only then, they were called 'Scuttlers'

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_07/image.jpg.1b72a85c9a868d853ae3de048e53cda0.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="63283" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_07/image.jpg.1b72a85c9a868d853ae3de048e53cda0.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

These men and women varied from ages, and races. They were born from the filth of Great Britain, and were considered outcasts. This crew was unlike the rest of the Scuttlers however, taking in even family members in the gang life. They had a firm belief that blood was more trusted than gold, and that belief has turned them into one of the most influential street gangs in Great Britain, even in today's age.

However, there's trouble in paradise. With the influx of drugs, and even other bad influence from outside sources; Pound Gang, and even Britain as a whole, is in brink of a war. It's not the type of war you would think of at first sight though, but a shadow war. Everyone has their own demons, and fighting them alone has never met with victory.

You, as the player, are a troubled youth. You have somewhat grown up hearing the legends of the Pound Gang; but never truly understood what it stood for. However, you and multiple other youth are about to find out. Today's your initiation, are you ready?

Figured you would like it Kira~ Any questions? Of course, I plan on taking my time with this one, and there aren't limited slots. Also, I think I've finally figured out the trick to setting up the setting! Guess we'll see, anything could happen with this pet project.

Glad to hear it! I'll make sure to tag you when the Rp thread is made. Probably sometime this Thursday/Friday

Hehe I made a RP like this a while ago, I was thinking of rebooting it but you've beat me to it! I'd love to join, I love the plot so far!

Really? Damn, guess I wasn't as original as I 'originally' though~

Well, since you have experience in this field; do you have any plot ideas? I'd love to hear whatever that you had for yours. We'd be able to add and subtract whatever did and didn't work.

Ahah they're a little bit different, but sure I can give you some plot ideas. I don't know what you have in mind for the 'initiation', but for my roleplay the initiation was a mission of sorts. The gang members had to complete a mission in order to prove themselves. The mission was to locate a briefcase and then the plot kind of worked itself from there. There were of course several obstacles instilled during 'the mission'. Sometimes weapons would be incorporated, other times more mental effort would need to be applied.

I like that, making it a little more interactive. I should definitely give more freedom in that regard. However, most of the mechanics are still in development.

So far in the mechanics department, I've discovered a few different options for how posting would work and such. Here's the list:

- Post order: making slots for people, mostly making sure the RP doesn't move without them present.

- Solo to group: Making the initial RPers solo post with GM giving a guide post as a response. The GM would mostly be controlling NPC's, and even putting up the initial setting for the RPers first post. After a while, sort of like a tutorial phase, the GM would introduce the said RPer into the group. This could also help late-comers that would want to join, and also be a way to weed out the people who tend to lose interest in RP's before they start.

I'd be happy to hear about any mechanic ideas you guys have! I'm not the best roleplayer by any means, and I have only finished three long-term roleplays since I have started the hobby.

In my experience, post order has often caused a roleplay to go dead because of waiting on someone to post who never does. But giving them free reign to post whenever also causes the problem of people being left behind. I feel like the best choice would be to limit the free reign to whereas small groups are not allowed to exceed one page of interaction or a certain amount of posts without GM posting.

Agreed. What i've done before is momentarily 'Pause the RP'. Just tell people to pause for a moment so that the RP doesn't get too far ahead. This has worked well for me; it gives people freedom but stops things from getting crazy.

I actually love those ideas! That settles it, I'll be adding the suggested mechanics to the page once it's made.

If anyone has any other suggestions that they want to put on the table, now is the time to spill the beans! I've already got most of the plots and the setting down. However, I'm having an idea of allowing players to create some of the NPC's that are already members of the gang. Their main characters will be young kids that are getting initiated. If any of you think that's a sketchy idea, let me know. From my experience; it's sort of a double edge sword. Although, creating all the NPC's myself would result in an effect I like to call 'Brail'. It basically means that the GM has a full image of how the organization would operate, yet unless perfectly orchestrated, leaves everyone else having to guess the outcome. If everyone created their personal NPC's that would interact somehow with the others, it could add realism to the organization.

That's all just a hypothesis though, I've yet to see it actually work. Of course, the main characters would have to be priority for the roleplayer's post. I'm also tracking that if a player would drop, so would his/her NPC's. I was planning on just taking over said characters at that point, even though it could get a little overwhelming on my part.
