The plot is set at least 100 years in the future, but isn't TOO different. My character and yours are best friends, and my character's brother is a technology nerd. He built a time machine that we never knew about until it was too late. Our characters were hanging out at my character's house when they discovered it. They accidentally activate it, and find themselves on the 17th floor of an empty building. But they are no longer in the same year.
