Emily kept to the Slytherin dorm, she had taken her violin from her room and begain to play a bit. She sat by the large under water windows. as she stoped playing she looked out into the tte water watching the few fish that swim by. Tomorrow was Christmas and now wondered back to her home and that of her father. Sure she was having a better time staying at school then she ever would at home but she couldn't help but wonder that was going back at home.
The next morning, christmas day Earl had intended to sleep in. But that was entirely up to weather or not Emily let him. After all he had told her the way to get in.
Emily awoke to a cold morning, stretching she sat up in bed trying to get the courage to step out of the warm covers. The memory of it being Christmas quickly came to Emily as she quickly got out of bed and changed. She gathered a present for Earl she had hide under her bed (out of habit of hiding things down there) and stuffed the very neatly wraped gift into her satchel. She picked up a sleepy Luna and rushed out of the quite Slytherin dorm into the cold halls of Hogwarts castle. It wasn't long until she reached the entrance to Hufflepuff and hoping what Earl had told her was true and wasn't pranking her. She followed his instructions into getting into the Hufflepuff dorm.
The barrell opened. Some of the hufflepuff's watched her walk in. "He's still asleep." One said.
Emily smiled when the barrel opened walking in she saw some Hufflepuff's sitting in the common room. "Oh of course he is....when isn't he asleep" she replied with a chuckle "...merry Christmas " she said to the small group as she walked towards the boys side to try and wake him up.
He was still deep in sleep
Emily walked into the room to find Earl was deeply asleep. She let out a small sigh as she shook her head. It seemed Earl favorite thing to do was either play quidditch or sleep. Walking up to his bed she whispered out his name. "Earl...eeearrl!....time to wake uuuup" She said as she shook him. However he continued to sleep away. She softly frowned as she pouted, then a smile apeared on her face as she thought of and idea. Suddenly she jumped on to the bed, on her knees she jumped up and down on the mattress trying to shake him awake. "Wake up! Up up sleepy head! It's Christmas and you should not be asleep...wake up wake up lazy bones!"
He awoke with a start grabbing his wand and casting reflexively. "Petrificus Totalus!"
Emily gasped as Earl shot up with a startle from her jumping on the bed to try and wake up. The quick casting from Earl struck her, temporarily paralyzing her. Emily's jumping stopped suddenly as she fell over (could be on to Earl or off the bed on to the floor XD)
She fell on top of Earl who jumped out of bed. ",SHIT! Finite." He said
Emily went from being on top of Earl to face down on the bed. Becoming unjinxed she lay there, unmoving, face buried into the comforter, feeling a bit embarrassed. She let her impulses get the better of her and she now went out and been unladylike. "Forgive me Earl...should have thought of a different way in waking you up......didn't mean to scare you.." she spoke slowly getting up on the bed and keeping her gaze away from him.
He sighed. "Don't worry about it. I was just prepared for another Prank from Thomas. He snuck a snake into my bed once."
Emily looked up at Earl as he told her not to worry. Swinging her legs over to sit on the edge of the bed "...a snake really?....you never told me this Earl...I can see why you were so quick to respond with your wand.." she replied now understanding why he slept with his wand so close to him to get that reaction.
He shrugged. "Not that different from home. I always slept with a rock under my pillow
"a rock?...what would you keep a rock under your pillow?...that seems noting but so uncomfortable to sleep under" she replied
"Cuz some of the big kids didn't like me sticking up for the little kids. A rock and a pillowcase make a decent weapon."
(XD This is going to make her be more terrified of staying at Earl's one summer)
"No. Not usually. Come on. Thomas is just as bad as they are." He saiid.
(hey did Earl ever get his broom fixed? trying to figure out what a good present might be for him)
"Hold on." He said digging through his trunk. "I got you something," He pulled out an object that was wrapped in light blue paper.
Emily stoped by the doorway and looked back at Earl as he was now digging around his trunk. "...you know you don't have to get me anything" she said trying to hold back a smile when she spotted the object in his hands wraped in light blue paper.
"Just take it." He said thrusting it into her hands
Emily nodded taking a hold of the wraped object as he thrusted into her grasp. "Thank you Earl.." she said just holding it in her hands. A small smile creeping on her face as her thumb caressed the light blue paper, her mind wondering what he could have possibly gotten her.
"Well don't leave ME in suspense for you resction. Open it." He said
Emily had been distracted starting down at the wraped object in her hand, Earl gifting her something aways felt different from any gift she ever received in her life. "Oh!...you want me to open it now?...um alright.." she said feeling unsure, for some reason thinking she was to wait until later. But with Earl giving her the go, Emily ever so gently opened up the gift.
