Personality: Mei-Lin is hard working and loyal to her family and friends. She is determined to never give up on her dreams and she is very dependable and reliable to those close to her. Whenever someone is in trouble, Mei-Lin will be there to defend them, and if family or friends are involved, she can become overprotetive over them.


On the flip side, she can be selfish and is quick to anger. Being a theater student, she always strives to be in the spotlight, on and off stage, and always seems to pretend she's the star of a play or a movie in the real world, which leads her to daydream often and not pay attention to what she's doing-only being way too into herself. Also, she has a short fuse when it comes to her temper, and almost anything can set her off. This can also bleed into her impatience with people and things around her, or the situation in general.


Biography: Mei-Lin was born on April 4th, 1996 (in the Chinese year of the Rat) in Beijing, China. She lived with her mother, father and younger brother until the age of eighteen when she moved out to live in the dorms of the performing arts college in order to persue her dream to become a stage singer and actress. She loved to perform as a child, and was inherently good at it from the get-go. To make extra money, she is working as a Barista in a coffee shop not too far from her college. She is a big dreamer and a hard worker, often thinking she's too good for the job she holds and wants more out of life.


She loves her family very much, going to visit them for festivals and holidays. She also yearns to find her "one true love" someday and have a fairy tale wedding, one she planned since the age of ten. While she dreams and sometimes acts like a child, she knows when to be serious and can get the job done quickly and efficiently. Currently, she is playing one of the lead roles in the musical "Wicked" alongside her good friend Koi Miazaki, who she met at the drama school, and she is very excited to finally land the role of a lifetime.

Biography:


Koi is a girl who grew up from a happy middle-class family. She was an only child. Though they weren't rich, her loving family made it possible to have her cared for as if they were rich. Because of this, Koi is not that familiar or experienced with the practical and dark side of life such as chores, life tasks, crimes, etc. Her hobbies include singing (particularly musicals), and learning different languages and cultures. After she graduated from college, she immediately took her chance to be a part of a musical play in which she is currently enjoying herself in. Koi never had any boyfriend in her life because she gets really awkward when it comes to serious stuff. Ironically, she's a hopeless romantic.

Celestial Power: Life Force Sensing: Different from sensing Ki of Mana, life force sensing is the ability to perceive that which creates, maintains and breeds life and lifeforms. This allows Gensho to pinpoint anyone he has encountered before or search for particular individuals.


Celestial Artifact: Sword of Salvation: A blade that cannot cut due to a dull edge. The blade itself is not made of steel or iron but has the texture of polished marble. Though not suited to deal death blows or incisions like a normal sword, it has a high resistance to both Ki and Mana when used defensively.


Weapon of choice: Khakkhara: AKA monks staff. A copper staff coated with a thin gold layer. It is 6ft long and has 4 sounding rings. Weighs in about 10 lbs.

Armor: Special leather covered metal armor is worn under his overcoat. Built to resist Ki. He also has a shoulder guard for his right hand which can be extended using magic.


Scarf: A lilac colored scarf, Symbol of a wayist.


Sash: His Amethyst Sash is decorated with autumn colored leaves and shrubbery.

Positive:


Respect for all life: Gensho's training as a Wayist taught him the respect for all life and that it is always a worthwhile endeavor to risk ones life for the sake of others.


Self-sacrificing: He has been taught to live a life of service on behalf of all his fellow humans.


Negative:


Cold Logic: Decisions and actions he makes are often based on logic and can be considered as uncaring in that way. Someone who always chooses the lesser of two evils, or in another sense the needs of the many over the needs of the few.


Stubborn and Haughty: Many times when he has made a wrong decision, he many times will not admit to it being that way, and will cover it up saying from his point of view it was the correct one at the time. Unfortunately to add to this, when a decision is able to be reversed and certain consequences can be relieved, his stubbornness may not let him do so.


Biography: Gensho was one of many orphans brought up by monks of Mt. Koku Temple. Plague and Famine struck his hometown and many including his parents died due to this. The monks realized from the symbol 'emptiness' on his left hand that Gensho was a Celestial warrior of Genbu. They therefore trained the young child from an early age to become a mighty warrior honing his mind, heart, body and spirit to be of service to the priestess upon her arrival. They also taught the young man all about the Four Gods, the priestess', the celestial warriors and the history of all nations and peoples affected by this cycle. The training he received taught him to use Ki, and being a celestial warrior allowed him to easily learn to use mana.


After years of training for his role as a celestial warrior and for the priestess, Gensho set out to venture the lands in search of his fellow warriors that way they would be able to gather them together much faster upon her arrival. His travels gave him much experience and insight, especially into the political landscape of the region and the plights of the people.

Description: This technique is used mainly for transport. Gensho needs a sutra shard with an incantation for this technique and a small body of water, enough to fit however he wants to transport. He is only able to go to places where he has stored a 'receiving' sutra shard.

Type: Mana


Element: Water


Description: This technique forms a spherical protection around Gensho and a surrounding party. The barrier absorbs the hit and as a result takes less damage making it quite sturdy.

Description: Mainly used to counter a massive attack, the user converges the Four Winds together around the target to slowly drill away at it all the while using the power taken to fuel a protective barrier around the user.


Name: Thrust


Type: Ki


Element: Ki


Description: The user basically thrusts their fist or palm towards a target projecting their Ki. Direct contact with the technique pushes the target away depending on the size of the blow. It does no physical damage unless the person does not recover from the movement.

Character Name: Tomo/Kailai Wen.

Occupation: He is the Imperial Librarian of Kutou(runs the royal library) and is a tutor to the youngest prince of the Kutou Empire.




Character symbol: Root (氐)

Symbol Location: Back of neck.

Celestial Powers: Tomo can speak to animals and has great affinity with them.

Celestial Artifact: Ring of the Caged Dragon—A silver ring with a blue gem at the center that augments his celestial powers and allows him to deepen his connection with animals. Using the powers boosted by the ring, he is able to merge his spirit with the animal of his choice so that he and his animal companion are able to fight as one—he can see through the eyes of the animal, feel what it feels, etc. When doing that, Tomo enters a state where he gains increased strength, speed, and senses. He may also gain temporary characteristics of the animal he merged with.




Weapon of choice: A regular Chinese, double-edged straight sword.

Elemental Affinity: Earth and Steel.

Physical Appearance: Tomo is 5’9’’ tall and weighs 140lbs. He has fair skin, dark-brown, waist-length hair, and brown eyes. His body shape is lean, but not especially muscular due to the fact that he spends more time than in the library than sword practice. He prefers casual clothing and often wears his hair in a loose ponytail. His favorite color is red.

Personality: Tomo has a very easy-going personality even as a child. He rarely gets angry and insults flow off him like water. Tomo would rather talk than fight, making him quite the pacifist. He believes the pen is mightier than the sword and problems are best solved by talking things through rather than resorting to violence. His anti-war sentiments make him somewhat ostracized among his peers.

However, there are things that make him angry—such as when animals are hurt/abused—and he will not hesitate to fight when he feels it’s necessary. Tomo has a tendency to take things into his own hands and he does not trust easily. He would rather do things himself than rely on the help of others. In addition, Tomo is quite manipulative and has no problems lying in order to get what he wants.

Biography: Kailai is the youngest son of Lord Bakryuu Wen and Lady Lufei. Unlike his two older brothers, Kailai was a sickly babe when he was born and his parents feared he wouldn’t make it. Fortunately, thanks to his celestial powers manifesting, he did. His parents considered his birth a miracle since during that day, birds filled the skies and fished leaped in the water. His father had high hopes that Kailai would be a powerful warrior and the pride of the Kutou Empire.

However, Bakryuu’s fatherly hopes were dashed. Though Kailai was a healthy child and showed skill with the sword, he lacked the fighting spirit. Kailai preferred to read rather than train and enjoyed verbal battles over real ones. Kailai was often bullied by his brothers because he never fought back and preferred the company of animals to people. Worried that he would become a loner, they sent him to the palace to learn with the other children of the court at the age of 14. His high marks, and his love for books/scrolls, earned him a position as assistant to the Imperial Librarian at the age of 15. After the Librarian died, Kailai took over as the Imperial Librarian and was assigned to teach prince Homrei.

Life Skills: reading and writing, calligraphy, playing the er hu, swordsmanship, Wen Family martial arts, riding, animal care, and court etiquette.

Others: Kailai's best friend is a falcon named Senru. He grew his hair long to hide the 'root' mark on the back of his neck. The Wen Family doctor is the only one who knows Kailai is Tomo, but Kailai "convinced" him to keep to keep his silence.​

Description: Stabbing the ground with his sword, Kailai sends his ki to the earth, causing thick roots to emerge and wrap around his target. So long as his sword is touching the earth, Kailai can control the direction and movement of the roots. He can make them weave together to form barriers, pull something towards him, etc.

Description: Through his strong connection with animals, Kailai is able to heal an animal at the cost of his own health. He can revive it at the cost of his own life. This applies to humans and plants as well.

Description: Kailai sends ki through his sword, making the blade—temporarily—incredibly light and durable. He then follows with a series of blindingly fast strokes that can slice through stone.

Personality:


Ashitare is naturally a gentle, peace-loving man, who is rather isolated and quiet but also very good to and caring of others. At times he is serious, kind, and noble to the people he meets.He is a good-hearted man, always doing his best to be useful. He values his friends greatly, and goes through any length to protect them and ensure a bright future.


However, he is new to this world, he is curious, gullible and open hearted. He is easily attached to those he meets, because he has so few memories of his past. Although often kind and passive in nature he is prong to sudden bursts of rage and violence. Showing extreme skill in combat and swordsmanship. All around he is a kind, gentile and warm pacifist man.

Biography: ( 10 lines minimum ) He is a mystery. Having lost much of his memory, he only knows a few things about his past. He knows that he lost his mother at a young age, and that his father and sister are distant. He cannot picture or name either of his remaining kin, but knows they exist. He earliest clear memory was of the forest. He remembers walking across the dark pool of the lake daily and collecting different flora for food.


Most of all he remembers Rima, the young girl who visited him often. They became close friends and Rima told her of the world and what it was like. In return he taught her about the forest and listened to her problems. He was happier when Rima came to visit. Rima invited him to come with her to her home. He hesitantly agreed, having a slight uneasiness about him leaving the forest, but seeing the happiness on Rima's face reassured him. She promised to come for him the next day. However, the next day she didn't come by. So he waited, a day, a month, after three months he knew that something was wrong. So for the first time in years he decided to leave his forest and go out and find her.

Biography:

Akemi was born into the royal family of Konishi. Her parents brought her up in a very strict proper lifestyle but she always had a rebellious side which she had to hide. In secret she would learn fighting skills. She liked fighting and the feeling of being strong she didn't like being weak and always having to have someone watch and protect her. Her parents did care for her though even if they were strict but unfortunately tragedy had hit the family. Akemi's mother was killed by a assassin. Her father was totally heart broken and for awhile went into silence and Akemi would think of the memories her and her mother had. As time went by things started to go back to normal but then one day she got told that she was going to be married to a prince from another kingdom. She and her father had a argument about it but he wouldn't budge his mind had already been made. The next day the prince arrived. When she meant him he seemed dignified and a total bore, just her luck. But later while walking by the room he was staying in she heard them discussing something. She learned that the assassin that had killed her mother was sent from them and now that they were going to kill her father. But to keep up a good image in front of the public would marry her. For the first time ever she really felt scared but there was know way she was letting them get away with this. She quickly looked around for her father but couldn't find him. When she finally did it was to late there he was dead with a sword through his back. She stared not able to move until she heard foot steps behind her. She turned around to see the prince behind her. He smiled saying how unfortunate it was that she saw this and that if she knew what was good for her that she would keep quiet and go to her room. Know way in hell he was getting her. She ran. She didn't have time to grab anything luckily her knowing combat came in handy when the soldiers tried to grab her. After she knocked out one of the soldiers she grabbed a sword but as she did she felt a hand grab her hair which happen to be the prince. She struggle to get free but she couldn't so she used the sword to cut her hair and get her free. He was stun for a second where he thought he saw actual fire in his eyes. While he was in that stun moment she took her chance and ran. After a while she had stopped running and sat back against a tree trying to catch her breathe but soon found herself crying. Everything hit her she was alone both her parents were now gone, And she had know where to go. And on top of that her poor hair that her mother loved so much had been cut. She cried herself to sleep that night. Since that day she hanged her identity and went into hiding. It has been a month since this has happen and they are still looking for her. The prince seems to had noticed something about her and now is still looking for her.

Personality : An emotional change causes certain muscles in the face to tense, producing an "expression". Namame is expressionless but is it that he doesn't feel emotion, he is merely unable to express it. This young male has an extraordinarily stoic and introverted personality, preferring simple body language rather than speaking. Growing up in complete isolation, he has almost no social skills whatsoever. He is very quiet and hardly ever speaks, usually replying to questions with nods and gestures, or just blank, awkward stares. When prompted to speak, he does so in a very poor dialect and a poor vocabulary, always speaking in a monotone and displaying a dispassionate expression. Aloof and reserved, Namame is a quiet and tranquil male, who seems to not share the same dimension most people around them are and preferring simple body language rather than speaking. Tending to overthink, he spends a lot of time staring blankly into space, as if he is ignoring others, when in fact he is paying attention to what they are saying and pondering over their words. As such, he is often misunderstood and many tend to avoid his presence, as they feel intimidated by his long, quiet stare. He also is a rather judgmental individual, easily ticked by tings most people wouldn't. He does not say it to others though, as he finds it hard to just blurt out words duo to his crude speaking skills.

He also can be described as eccentric, given his seemingly tastes for fashion and food, as well as some of his occasional habits, such as braiding his hair when he needs to remember something or hugging his knees and rolling on the floor when he is trying to pass time. He is completely unflappable and rarely seems anxious or under stress, never allowing himself to get stuck. One of his quirks is his naive and almost child-like nature towards women or other subject he is not familiar with. Once faced with something that surprisingly inflicts embarrassment within him, he is prone to blushing and embarrassment, having the habit of turning his face away or simply flee from sight. He also portraits a rather animalistic behavior towards others and is not able to realize what kind of conventions he is breaking by doing so. Sometimes it seems as if he doesn't know what embarrassment is, having no problem saying embarrassing lines or stripping if someone asks him to, seeing no point in having complexes towards his or someone's body. Such traits hide away a more timid and awkward side to Namame, that goes beyond his cold-hearted and indifferent façade.


Biography : Though most of his past is shrouded in mystery, there are those who are familiar with the story of the one known as the Golden-Yed Lion, more specifically within the estate of the Cau clan. Namame’s parents have been out of the picture since he could barely even walk, leaving him to never grow any attachment to them as a memory in the past. Shipped into an orphanage at a very young age, with his small figure, and his "weird" personality, he always had a knack for trouble both opening up to others with people and to not get into violent conflicts, being victim of discrimination ever since he could remember for his foreign features. Because Namame had no friends to speak of, he would consider stray cats and plants to be his only company, the only ones who would not shun him nor force him to speak. His fate took a turn as he found himself noticed by a man in red, expensive vests who, by pointing a finger at him, would forever seal his existence as the violent yet unbreakable lion he was. Namame, now given the name of Wei Lun, as his master would look away in disgust at the character of Wall carved in his body, began his life as an assassin for the head of the clan, posing as his servant of sorts. Instructed since he was a child to not show any mercy nor let his emotions cloud his judgement, he would become what he is now, forever bound to his fate as a mere pawn to the grand scheme of things...

To the eyes of others, Midou seemed like a laid back person because he doesn't want to waste energy on things he is not approve of, irrelevant, or a waste of time. Although, he may look cold on the outside, he is approachable but only shows his gentleness to his pet hawk, animals, and to people he finds dear. He likes to play his Ehru and to paint. When he becomes accustomed with the people around him, he could also be naughty, mischievous, and more active.


Biography:


Midou is an only child of his late parents and lives in a province. When he was young, his parents discovered that he is destined to be a celestial warrior, so they forced him to learn how to fight to protect the upcoming maiden. He is very passive and dislike violence. He'd rather pick up his brush and paint. But being obedient, he did finish and master his ninja training. He also learned to develop his special techniques. In his early teen, he loved a girl who is an avid admirer of his artistic skills and supports him even on unfortunate events. She is the person who gave him his pet hawk named Passaro. They begin hanging out but it was too late when he noticed that the only person he gave his all for was unfaithful to him. As a result, he did not want to do give his all out support on things he finds not worth it. His former girlfriend was caught in a village fire and died on the day they broke up. Because his father was summoned in a war and never returned and his mother died due to a severe disease, the grandparents of his late girlfriend adopted him and taught him how to hunt and to make herbal medicines. He grew up with them until this day and treats them as his own parents. He now uses his artistic and hunting skills to support his new family.

Biography:


His parents were well known warriors, sadly they died in a fight against monsters when he was young. He has little to no memories of his parents and believes that one is raised by those nearby. His early years at the court consisted mostly of running from and to with messages while in between he got taught how to fight. His prowess with the Tessen got him some respect, even though he refused to join the military. His skills with the calculus allowed him to keep a spot in the court at the treasury department. Doing the numbers and informing the head treasurer of the state of the cashflow.


Ever since he was borne he was stuck inside the court, and didn't really mind it. His mischievous acts as a child where that he'd sneak off with some books or scrolls of people to read them. Later he would always return them, and several times he was also caught trying to look at documents that weren't meant for his eyes. This way he learned not to look at documents from the generals, and a few other members of the court. Unknown to him some of the court members actually prepared scrolls for him to read.


Nobody has of yet noticed the sign of the 'Winnowing Basket' on his shoulder, since this has always been covered up by his outfit ever since it started to show itself. He himself has some notion about it, and is looking through scrolls in his spare time to figure out what it means. He's known in the library as someone now knowledgeable about signs and symbols, although he's yet to find a scroll mentioning the symbol of the Seiryuu warriors.

Celestial Power: Gliding: While not exactly flying, he is able to glide up to a distance of 10 meters, he can also utilize this in a way that allows him to be quick of his feet moving very rapidly and quickly. By using wind, he can glide at a faster speed in small 'jumps'. Shorter the distance, the faster he is. He cannot glide higher than 3 feet from the ground, can glide from rooftop to rooftop though.


Celestial Artifact: Spear of Lightning; It is a Spear that uses Wind and Lightning attacks, capable of sending out bolts and streams of Lightning and wind, dealing damage and creating a storm of sorts. It's becomes enveloped in Lind and lightning whenever the user touches it, and is capable of floating nearby the user while using the power of wind. It is very destructive, and the only safe zone is to stay away.


Weapon of choice: He has a Guan Dao spear on his back but mostly used the Miao dao broadsword.

----He is generally a happy person who would like not much more than to sleep. Has a Habit (and history) of flirting with women which more often than not usually goes no further than beings friends and having connections, unless they themselves wanted a little more for their acquaintanceship. Which surprisingly he never gets in trouble with most women at all... Unless they are actually trying to harm them(which usually ends with them blushing n not knowing what to say)


-----He is very easy to get along with yet has a sort of mischief about him and often will trick or play with those he knows to the point where they get irritated or embarrassed. Loves to drink and spends most of his time hiding in bars and the like from the Emperor trying to contact him, which he is no good at things like that and usually ignores all summons from the Palace, including the summons sent from the emperor, making him one of the most lazy Celestial Warriors. Even though he says that he forgot when he actually ignored the summons for drinks.


----Despite this attitude, he actually has reasons for such behavior, such as he does it to enlighten the mood or gets people's minds of depressing things, even going as far as the tease the Priestess if she felt sad.


---He is very protective of his comrades, up to the point that he would kill anyone who threatened the safety of the Priestess, even the Emperor himself.

---As Stated before, he has a habit of drinking and staying in Taverns, which sometimes gets him into trouble causing fights which makes others look down upon him.


---When fighting he kills mercilessly, everyone who stood up against him usually will be killed. Even those who beg, he usually kills them with a cold expression, which sometimes alienates him from his comrades. He is not above flat out killing a man if they commit a grievous crime in front of him such if he caught them killing a human or fun or severely harming a woman or child.


Biography: He was born into a High Class Nobility, learning politics and sword fighting. At the age of 15 it was made known to him that he was a Celestial Warrior, which at first was left as a secret by his parents. Somehow the word of this got to the Emperor and while he officially became a Celestial Warrior at the age of 17, he was actually forced has his family was them moved to some other part of the world and taken hostage, though for them, it was pretty much a happy excursion for his parents who were actually one of the very few noble families who really didn't care about status despite their nobility.


After that, he had actually left the Capitol and trained for the coming of the Priestess. As the years gone by he was well known not as a Celestial warrior, but as a fool who constantly got into fights in taverns around the country and picked up women. One rumor in particular is how he has assembled a harem of women, thought hat is a lie, but hey, it made him more popular. To the ladies anyway, for the truth is most of them he saved from monsters or crooked men.


He never really met any of the other Celestial Warriors


He was last known to have been somewhere outside the City of Touran hiding out after hiding from the Empire who sent out a summons for him months ago, which he forgot about.


Life skills; Over the course of his training he was good at tracking wild game and Hunted for a living. Most camping or hunting related things he is good at.

--While Hak is known as the laziest warrior, those who truly know him know that Hak is a incredibly hard worker pointing to him training to use both his sword and spear at the same time.

Biography: Born to the General of the Emperor, Toyu was groomed from a very young age to become one of his Father's foot soldiers in the army, however due to his pretty boy looks, his father often thought that he was too feminine. His father blamed his Mother for this, and beat not only Toyu, but also his mother. He had treated both so badly behind closed doors, that Toyu hatched a plan very early on to get back at his father for all the violence and hate. Discovering by chance that his esteemed father had been sleeping with one of the Emperor's favorites, Toyu set him up so that the pair would be caught and his father dragged before the Emperor as punishment. But it backfired, as the Emperor chose instead to take Toyu's mother and then have her used by many of the officers, before having her killed - to truly insult Toyu's father in front of all. Disgraced, his father returned to the family home, and this was when he took out all his anger and frustration on Toyu. Already Toyu felt the guilt that it was his actions that had led to his mother's death - one that never had hurt a soul. In his anger and rage, Toyu killed his father with a terrible fire blast, the awakening of his dark powers. This was the start of long road of revenge and hatred - not only for the Emperor, his dead father's spirit, but also himself. If one cannot love themselves, or forgive themselves....there is no chance of retribution.


Toyu's looks and charm found him favor with many, and he was able to rise in the ranks as a warrior, but few ever spoke of his family's dishonor. That was the last thing anyone ever wanted to do.

Personality:


Courageous: She is no coward. In fact she faces most dangers with a hearty attitude. There is not much she fears. Anything she does find to fear she gets over it by focusing on what she has to do.


Resourceful: Even if there is only one hope of winning she is able to discern it. She will use many things from her looks, personality belongings and surroundings to attain her goals.


Cunning: Her resourcefulness is can surpass her morals and conscience, making her do things that most normal ordinary and good folk would not do. If it means using people, their feelings, theirs passions for her to get what she wants, than so be it.

Biography:


Lei Lan Fa was born to a farmer of the distant province near the vast plains area of the south of the empire. For years the townspeople housed many nomadic tribes that came to them. Leilan was fascinated with the world outside but her parents thought it best to keep her in the town as a protection. Although she didnt know it, the people of the town recognized her birthmark as a symbol of Genbu priestess' warriors. During a time of struggle of power, the borders near her town have been attacked by bandits and soldiers from other places. She decided to help to fight against her parents wishes and found out that she was quite a warrior. It was around this time that she found out about her powers.

When she returned her parents explained everything to her about the traditions of the warriors of Genbu and the priestess, lore passed down to every generation. She wasnt mad about it but now she knew and that meant a lot to her. As she grew older she did not live for the sake of her destiny but chose a path aside from it. She thought it would be okay to do as she pleased and when and if the priestess came then she would do her duty. She continued her farming with her parents land during the growing season and worked as a teacher during the off season.

Jian has grown out his hair since leaving the generals side but still keeps it tied back tidily to keep it from getting in the way. His features are usually calm allowing only an occasional hint at the turmoil hidden behind the steady amber gaze. He carries himself with an air of confidence that is only underlined by his broad warrior frame, making it all the more difficult to tell whether Jian actually has a plan or ignoring all logic in his hunt for glory.

Personality:


Benevolent:


Oath Bound– A man's word is his bond and Jian will not allow anything to come between him and a given promise. This makes him reliable if foolhardy at times. Needless to say he expects the same of others and has an ingrained disgust for those who cannot stand by their word.


Steadfast – Few things are able to sway his mind once he's set out on a path. He is a loyal friend and will stand his ground even in the face of great danger; seldom giving into the lure of worldly temptations.


Negative:


Redeemer – A man may fall but his name will go on. In pursuit of lasting glory he will take great risks or charge into uncertain situations as long as it seems heroic or would serve to absolve him of his past guilt.


Grudge Bearer – While he has learned to control his temper Jian's memory is long and reserves a special place for those who have wronged him. He is unable to work with and will try to get back at these people with admirable dedication. In the same stroke he cannot forget his own mistakes and ponders over them extensively, withdrawing from the world to sooth his grief until repairs are made.


Biography: Jian's father was a merchant and while the trade with nearby cities did not yield mountains of riches he could always pay his dues and support his growing family. A peaceful life however never suited the young Jian and he caused his old man more than once headache with his misadventures. When the tendency did not wane even as Jian grew into a young man his father sought council in a shrine. It was there he met the old General Ma Chao who offered to take the troublesome youngster under his wing.


While endless drills and marches did little to appease the Jians drive for adventure they tired him enough to keep him from causing much of a ruckus. In combat he proved to be reliable and loyal to his comrades, if a bit reckless. His martial powers gained him a quick ascension among the ranks and it was that which would ultimately force Jian to see his shortcomings.


Given the orders to hold the bridge and let none pass, Jian found himself troubled when a trading caravan came rushing at his position, riders hot on their heels. Was it just a clever ploy? He could not tell and thus stuck to his orders allowing no one to pass; when the two forces clashed in earnest the quiet riverbank turned into a massacre.


Few men escaped with their lives that day the ghosts of that particular battle still haunt Jians dreams. Unable to continue on with his guilt he gave up his command and retired to a far off monastery; too ashamed to even make contact with his own father after the incident. When the symbol on the back of his neck began to pulsate Jian came out of his self inflicted seclusion, if only to seek redemption. Surely treading the path beside a venerable priestess could finally offer absolution where prayers alone had failed.

Celestial Power: Suzume can sense and manipulate vibrations and is particularly good at those pertaining to sound. She can amplify, dampen, and intensify them, allowing her to eavesdrop on conversations as well as mask her presence (by rendering her movements silent) and keep conversations private. Given her age and her overall pacifistic nature, however, she can come across some difficulty in using this talent with precision - this problem is rectified by her use of acupuncture needles as focal points and conduits for vibrations to run through.


Celestial Artifact: A silver bangle set with different charms - each emits a specific sound that Suzume can manipulate.

Physical Appearance:


A fine, almost delicate bone structure defies the most obvious traces of rough traveler's living; calluses on otherwise elegant digits, wear and tear prominently displayed over her favored jackets, knee-high boots and form-clinging leggings, the cheap and seemingly worthless blue stone dangling from her right earlobe. Only slightly taller than the average woman, her curves are more modest than generous; her skin is pale, but prone to color, whether due to prolonged exposure to sunlight or the influence of a drink. Her green eyes are given to merrymaking and mischief more often than not, just as her mouth is predisposed to brilliant smiles and reckless grins.


She appears no older than twenty, with long, ash-blonde hair that spills in a pale curtain down her back. The front fringe sweeps sideways over her forehead and tends to cover one of her eyes.


Personality:


Pacifist - Suzume considers herself as an artist first and a healer second, and whenever caught in a tight spot, will more often than not resort to charm, sweet-talk and diplomacy than physical violence, in spite of her martial prowess, and if really pushed, she would elect to escape rather than defend. While this would give anyone the impression that she is cowardly, nothing could be further from the truth; her reluctance to fight stems from seeing too much of what violence can truly cause, and has promised herself that if she does have to fight, it would be only when it is truly and utterly necessary.


Clever - Whether blessed with a lion's share of street smarts or simply an adept student of the human experience, the paths Suzume has taken renders her extremely capable in thinking on her feet and coming up with creative plans and schemes to get to where she needs to be. Living a life on the run has given her enough impetus to think five or ten steps ahead, and she has become skilled in anticipating probable outcomes. She has been this way for so long that her grandparents tend to tease her for having the heart of a fox.


Possessive - Having grown up in poverty after her family's less than graceful expulsion from her home country, Suzume has decided that if people have been given leave to take what's hers freely, she will do the same in turn. As a result, she tends not to have too much respect for other people's belongings and will often lift and steal things that catch her eye. On the flipside, this also makes her extremely protective of people she considers her own because they, too, are hers.


Vindictive - She may be a pacifist, but that doesn't mean she won't go out of her way to ruin someone's day if she thinks they deserve it.


Biography:


Born from a long line of skilled healers and alchemists, Suzume spent most of her childhood in her clan's cloister. She grew up learning about herbs and medicine (though her true passion was for the arts - carving, music and stage magic in particular) following the footsteps of the other members of her branch of the family, who were particularly known for acupuncture. They were said to be able to relieve pain and accelerate a body's natural regenerative traits through their needles alone, wrought from a combination of metal and an alchemical compound that her family developed to be more sensitive to natural energies. It was because of this specific speciality that they ended up being targeted by a rival clan, who sent hired assassins to destroy the family and steal its secrets. She, along with her older brother, twin sister, grandparents and couple of their bodyguards managed to escape with the family's formula, though they were hunted mercilessly across the country, which finally forced them to leave it for a time.


The remnants of her family kept hopping from place to place, never settling in one location for too long, and running only fueled Suzume's adventurous spirit as she quickly developed a taste for living a life on the road. Their bodyguard, Masuhiro, was particularly indispensible - not only did he ensure their safety, but he also taught them how to stay that way as best he could. Rendered fugitives by a more powerful family's greed, the survivors were whittled down one by one; Masuhiro's partner, Matsuri, was felled first, followed by Suzume's brother. It was the death of her twin sister, Yuzuru, however, that ended up forcing her hand as a Celestial Warrior - the resulting carnage from the sudden expulsion of power was so traumatic that the lone survivor of the attack fled in a quivering hurry, and kept Suzume from exploring her abilities as a Seishi out of the belief that she might hurt someone with them. Masuhiro later managed to convince her that the only way she could guarantee the safety of those around her was to learn how to control her gifts.


That terrifying moment seemed to bring them some semblance of peace - at least, for now. Whatever report the last assassin had said about her, it seemed to discourage the rival clan from pursuing them for the time being. A few years later, her grandparents managed to save enough money from their travels to open a clinic and apothecary in Koukan, with the loyal Masuhiro keeping a vigilant eye on them.


Finding herself unable to settle down in one place, Suzume continued her travels, the tug of her destiny too strong for her to ignore.


Life skills:


The Arts - While Suzume was raised to follow in the footsteps of her ancestors, her real passion is in the arts. She mostly makes her living as a musician and entertainer, performing at local taverns and telling stories, or selling small souvenirs she carved herself. She often embellishes her performances with magic tricks.


The Streets - Suzume spent most of her adolescent years penniless and on the run. She has spent some time as a cutpurse and a petty thief, and can pick locks and do sleight of hand.


Healing - While her education in her family's healing arts have been cut short, she has lived with its principles all of her life. She knows her family's acupuncture techniques, though she is in no way a true master, and has a working knowledge of herbs, poisons and poultices.


Gambling - Suzume plays enough cards and dice to know when to fold, when to call, when to double up and when to cheat. Unfortunately, she does this so often that she can't help but drain her funds anyway.

Description: Suzume sends her needles flying at her opponent. By itself, it's not a very powerful attack until she executes Bone Snap.

Description: This is one of Suzume's techniques where she needs her needles to be more precise, and often occurs after she has distracted her opponent long enough to deftly insert needles through his skin. When she snaps her fingers close to the protrusion, or flicks her fingers against one of the sound-emanating charms on her bangle, the frequency channels vibrations down its length and shatters bone under his skin and muscles, dealing potentially tremendous amounts of damage and/or pain.

Description: Suzume amplifies sound that she generates herself through the use of her bangle to deafen opponents, occurring as a painful, high-intensity pitch that only they can hear.

Description: The most advanced healing technique Suzume knows; she uses her needles on the injured person and herself, then uses a singing bowl to channel her own ki into the other person to accelerate his body's natural regenerative traits to heal itself. This process is by no means instantaneous and the injured person will still need a few days to be whole again, but his recovery time is greatly reduced.
