An only child, Shizuka was born to her father, a Sohma businessman, and her mother, a Filipina nurse practitioner. Her father is not the most affectionate man, so her curse never bothered him. Her mother has always treated her like any normal child. With both parents being workaholics, Shizuka was left alone for most of her upbringing. She is much closer to the other Sohmas than her immediate family. All that freedom tended to get Shizuka in trouble, but as long as she was performing well in school her parents paid no mind. In high school the tigress hit a wall, and barely graduated. She decided university wasn't for her and after a gap year pursued welding at a trade school. At first her parents were disappointed, but over the past year and a half they have warmed up to the idea of Shizuka being best suited for physical labor. Enjoying the fruits of being one of the wealthier Sohmas, Shizuka loves to indulge in fashion and eating out on a regular basis. She's an embarrassingly bad cook, and American grunge music is her guilty pleasure.

PERSONALITY
Appreciation and love is all that Hanami has for the people she loves and care for in her life. She loves spending time with her friends and family, but it can be overwhelming for her to be in a large group because she feels that she is drowned out by the energy of others. Hanami is not the loudest person nor is she super quiet, where she never talks Hanami contributes to the conversation when she can. The feeling of being in a group larger than 4 can be overstimulating because she is more introvertive, so when she is in a large group she feels like she needs to entertain everyone. Hanami excels more in smaller groups of 2 because she feels like she can collect her thoughts better and voice out her feelings. She enjoys being with those who respect her need of space and having a calmer energy, those who clash with this idea makes her feel uncomfortable so she tends to avoid talking with them. This behavior does come off as rude, but she is too afraid to confront the person so she would rather go into hiding away from that person.
Hanami's version of fun is doing small home activities like cooking snacks with others to hiking around the estate to explore the local ponds, so she can feed the koi fish. She almost goes to the koi fish pond every day to feed them because she find this activity the most calming, especially during times of emotional stress. When she is not outside, she is typically inside creating memo boards of furniture, paintings, and room colors for interior design, which she takes pictures of in order to post online for her blog. The ways she inspires herself to make these memo boards is to paint landscapes and people in a scenery or listening to the music she loves then dancing alone for about 5 minutes. Hanami is very shy and protective of this side because she feels like her little rituals can be weird and embarrassing. When she does open up to someone, especially romantically she will be extremely devoted to the person in any way she can, even if she is unsure that the person she likes may not reciprocate the same feelings. Hanami hold very idealistic ideas of romance because her only source of information is the drama shows she had watched growing, since her parents are extremely strict about her dating, so her personal experience with romance is close to none existent.

Hanami belonging to the Sohma family with her father being Ren and her mother being Mei. She grew up being an only child so she spent of her times being with the other children that lived in the estate. Hanami was always so shy and uncomfortable with being in large crowds, so she used to spend most of her time at home with her parents, where she would practice cooking with her mother. The other families knew of her presence on the estate, but no one ever really knew her because she did not stay long to get to know someone new. This behavior is probable due to the fact that Hanami's mother Mei was only able to have Hanami, so she was always afraid of Hanami being hurt so Mei would often coddle her and warn her about strangers. Hanami was always obedient and didn't want to trouble her parents, so even till' this day she has listened to her parents.

Rinji growing up has always been ambitious when growing up often times setting goals that seemed unachievable from academics or extracurricular activities. He is not perfect so he doesn't achieve all his goals, but he doesn't let his failures from scaring him to continue setting new goals for himself. Rinji being very goal-oriented causes him to be highly dependent on the existence of goals for tasks and without a clear goal he can easily get frustrated especially with other people. He views himself highly in intelligence and appearance so when he has to work with others he will get upset if they do not meet his standards or they are not as good as him. Therefore when it comes to solving a problem or dealing with problems he likes to work alone and does not take the suggestions of others. However, when he does see that someone's suggestion is correct Rinji could get flustered especially when he has to admit his wrongs to the person; he is working on being more accountable to his mistakes. Aside from his impatience he can have a bad temper, where he does not take well to continuous teasing; he can take a few jokes here or there but if it goes on for too long he can blow up on someone. If you want to get on his good side, it's best to not push his buttons too much or criticize his drawing skills because ironically, he is excellent at drawing buildings and landscapes but he is terrible at drawing people like he cannot draw anything more complex than a human stick figure.
Some positive aspects of him is that he is very caring for those who are in physical and emotional pain, where he really hates it when he causes someone to cry so he ends up trying to do some damage control. You could really tell he has a caring attitude deep down because he owns a couple of plants in his drawing room, who he tends to vent to about his problems or simply talk about his day. He doesn't like people knowing that he talks to plants in fear of people thinking he is weird. Rinji really enjoys being with other people who are ambitious like him because he believes these people completely understand him on why he can be a work o'holic and he feels these people are more open minded towards doing "crazy" things for adventures.

BACKGROUND
Rinji did not have a close relationship with his parents because they mainly viewed him as a source of income. The main conversations that they would have with him is his success in school and grades as well as guiding him on what career he should be choosing in order to get a high paying salary. Rinji's parents, Yuji and Rika, were not accepting of his passion for drawing buildings and landscapes because they felt that he was not going to get a good paying job with it even though they saw how good he was at drawing. Rinji being hyper focused on his goals did not make him lose hope into taking his drawing skill into a real profession that would prove his parents wrong, rather it made him even more determined to achieve his goal. Unfortunately the more his parents tried to discourage him the more resentful he became of them, so at times when he could not handle his parents he would often escape to Hanami's house where his parents were super caring for him. Rinji practically viewed Hanami as a younger sister because they shared the same creative passion just in different fields and it was nice that Hanami was supportive of his goals and was open to listen to his problems. Rinji moved on to build a reputable portfolio and get good grades in order to get into an university, where he gained a bachelors degree in Architecture. It took Rinji a few years after graduating to get a job but he currently works in the city as an Architecture building skyscrapers for any company willing to hire him.

As the eldest of three, Hayate's father was often harder on him than his younger brother or sister. His mother succumbed to heart disease after the birth of his brother, at which point Hayate was six. The combination of these things left him with an anger that he was unsure how to handle, which frequently still influences him to this day despite his best efforts. As a teenager he got mixed up with a small street gang, the dangers of which had followed him home and threatened his siblings. His father kicked him out as a result, and while he may occasionally bump into his siblings he has had no real contact with his father even after his best efforts to leave behind such a life.

This is partially because she enjoys her ties to the Sohma family, especially the other cursed Sohmas. On top of that, she also refuses most jobs that would have her working with a man. That paired with the fact that she struggles to put her career before her family, means she often turns down jobs offered to her (much to her agent's disdain). So long as she's able to be there when her family needs her, she is happy enough.

Miwa has been fascinated with the curse her whole life. Her sole wish is to research it, but she knows this will never be possible. To her, the closest thing is being the family doctor, so she had her eyes set on this path from the beginning. Raised by her single father, Miwa was a timid and anxious child. She didn't have very many friends but was kept entertained by her wild imagination and the older cursed Sohmas. Halfway through her residency, her father passed away. It hit Miwa hard and the past four years have been very difficult for her emotionally. Practicing medicine with the Sohmas has been her light, but she has not been taking very good care of herself and it's beginning to show. In her spare time, you can find Miwa painting or watching dramas.

The youngest child of five and the only son, Koji grew up spoiled rotten. Since day one he's been the center of attention and carries that aura with him wherever he goes. Despite being student council president in high school, he's always been a bit of an underachiever. He never cared for school much, but as long as he was popular he showed up and did what he had to do. Almost ten years later, Koji hasn't really found his footing. He works as the mail carrier for the Sohma estate and has a place of his own, but is still supported by his family and doesn't make much. He has gotten to know the Sohmas over the years and is a trusted friend, although he is unaware of the curse. Koji is a man of various hobbies, but mixing music is his favorite. His dream is to one day be the DJ and club promoter of his own nightlife hotspot, but he admittedly hasn't taken any steps to get there.
