Year: 106 A.U. (After Unification [of Earth])
It has been ten years since the mysterious end of the alien invasion that nearly wiped out Earth’s entire population. The vicious creatures that inexplicably began attacking earth fell randomly into a disarray after the 6th year of invasion. Mysteriously the creatures stopped attacking the humans and began attacking one another. Humanity, seeing this as a perfect time to launch a counterstrike, took advantage of the situation and managed to force the remaining Tha’Kar to certain areas of the world and space. While most of the continents of Europe and Northern Asia, were lost, other areas such as North America and South East Asia managed to be spared from any sort of of Remnants of the Alien scourge.
Though that wasn’t the only threat left for humanity, Earth’s factions began to divide themselves for the first time in 96 years. As the remaining officials and forces of the United Earth Federation, or the “Union”, tried to re-establish control over areas that had succumb great losses during the invasions. These areas, feeling that the Union had failed them, created Anti-Union factions that sought to establish their own rule and independence, and to secede from a newly-united earth.
During the time that the earth was under constant civil war, the other human centers of the solar system, Mars and the newly establish Ganymede began to question Earth’s policies and Earth’s central control over their governments. Having to fend for themselves during their own (but not as intense) invasions, the Martian and Ganymedian forces were reluctant to accept any new United Earth charters, claiming themselves to be independent and sovereign planets.
Left to their own devices, the Union forces began military attacks on other Anti-Union locations and following the protocols established during the A.65.3.4 Resolution, Union forces began work on a new orbital platform nearly six years ago. In order to maintain control of the other colonies and form a formidable defense should the aliens ever return in numbers again they worked on constructing a large defensive orbital structure, that would not only exist as a city, but also as a weapon. Work has not yet been completed on making the defense systems for the orbital platform, but the platform now is habitable for life, able to supply most of its basic needs, air, food and water, on its own.
The United Earth Federation had changed its policies on genetic manipulation and human biological research at the beginning of the invasion. Realizing that genetically altered humans would be required to get their orbital platforms up and running faster than a regular human timetable, they enlisted many previously banned practices, such as technoglyphs (humans with an array of mechanical and cybernetic implants) and the psionically inclined humans to speed up the construction process. After a few years, over a quarter of the platform was completed, and would be operational soon.
Select humans have been gathered from Earth to come live on the orbital platform, from soldiers to regular civilians. With only a few years left until completion, the orbital platform has become a unique human society, but progress hasn’t been as entirely predictable. Recently an unusual cases of stolen parts, missing persons, construction delays and, of course, alien attacks have caused some panic inside the platform. Concerned with safety, the Union has implemented a strict monitoring system over much of the populace and has begun working on installing new investigators to seek out sort of traitors, or any anti-Union sympathizers that might be rumored to be sabotaging the project.

- If you are interested in roleplaying you have the option of being a typical civilian with any profession (like builder or worker for the platform), a soldier, trying to guard the platform and its more specialized workers, or the investigation team that has been recently sent to discover what has been recently occurring on the platform.
- You must be human to start off with, as the game progresses more races will be discovered and I will start allowing non human players.
- If you are a psionic then you get one power which will be accepted or rejected when you submit your power and I will help you edit it if I feel it does not work. I won’t set any guidelines so just be creative.
- If you want cybernetics in your body at the start then you cannot start with psionics and vice versa. As the game progresses I will allow your psionic powers to improve and possibly even get more or alter your body more with cybernetics.
- Later down the line we will create a starship together because there will be exploring and adventure outside of the orbital platform eventually.

There are many races in the universe but humanity has only met two of them. You can only be human at the start of the game unless the storyteller says otherwise.
Tha’Kar: Coming soon.
The Tessary: The Tessary are a race of liquid beings with extraordinary psionic abilities. They used to live on their homeworld of Tessra until the Tha’kar came and invaded their peaceful planet. Their psionics are the basis upon which augmented human psionics work, utilising an interlinked psionic network. When the Tha’kar came, the Tessary were quickly overwhelmed, their people decimated within days. Those that remained abandoned the planet on a special exploration ship that they now call New Tessra. The vessel was originally destined to be used as an exploration and colony ship, traveling across the vast gulf of space on a mission of expanding the Tessary’s knowledge of the universe. Following the loss of Tessra, the survivors created the Suppression Aura, a psionic damping field which shields them from the minds of the Tha’kar. This is a necessary precaution, since they discovered that the Tha’kar were able to access their psionic network and locate the refugees. The reason why the Tha’kar can find them anywhere is that many dying Tessary on the captured homeworld were absorbed by the Tha’kar granting them the ability to intrude on the otherwise impenetrable mental network.
They aimlessly wandered through space since that terrible day seeking sanctuary and the chance to rebuild a safe new homeworld. Their roaming seemed to be fruitless until they came across a scout ship from Earth. The Tessary knew of humans, but had felt them too primitive from their earlier explorations of Earth, some centuries before the Tha’kar invaded. Humanity had never seen the New Tessra, much less more then one of these creatures who call themselves friends. The human ambassador remains aboard the orbital platform in a device which is continuously connected to the psionic network, using that as a proxy so the The’kar don’t notice the Tessary. The Union, in turn, offered a host body to the Tessary ambassador that he is able to control remotely with his thoughts.
The Tessary have been invaluable to the human cause in surviving the Tha’Kar invasion by providing knowledge and the concept of the psionic network. Their existence is kept secret from the general population because the Union feels that until the Tha’kar are dealt with, people will react negatively to any alien.
Appearance: Tessary are all made from a liquid which they can change by placing their heart in any other liquid. Their heart is the only thing visible through the substance. Every Tessary’s heart is different somehow, most resembling a glowing crystal of differing shape and structure. Oddly enough, the crystal is as mutable as the rest of the Tessary form and is as able to travel through even the narrowest gap, reforming afterward with no ill-effect. The Tessary have informed human xenobiologists that at death, the crystal dissolves into the rest of the fluid that makes up the individual Tessary. Tessary have also made it clear that even the fastest fluid currents are incapable of dispersing them.
They also have the ability to turn solid at will, though it feels alien to them, a people who came from a planet completely submerged in water. Some of the more advanced Tessary can take solid form but it takes much practice and training to maintain it. These solid forms are as resilient and strong as an equally-sized human, and some Tessary are able to break these norms for short periods of time, becoming incredibly tough or strong, before having to disperse their solid forms.

Other Notable Events in their history:
The Tessary hold no secrets from one another, being a race extremely intimate and connected through their psionic network. This makes them extremely emotional, since they live as one but they have had to deal with the overwhelming pain and horror that surged throughout their entire network, burning into their very consciousness as their people burned or were absorbed by the The’kar during the invasion. Later, they had to suffer even more, as they had to terminate their members of very own race, driven mad by the experience, to silence their corrupted voices after they had boarded the New Tessra and evacuated the planet. Not even the Tha’kar slaughter came close to the intentional euthanizing of their own kind.
These mutual feelings of knowing that someone who loves you must kill you and the feelings that they experience in response surging through the network caused a massive psionic feedback. For the first time ever these beings experienced sadness. Never before had the Tessary experienced something as demoralising as sadness, not even at the expected deaths of the most aged of their people. At those times, there would just be a calm acceptance as the dying consciousness scattered out through the vast fluid body of the Tessary and their last thoughts were shared with everyone. In the case of those driven mad and executed, the last thoughts evoked painful memories of great loss, which in turn brought an air of melancholy to all the Tessary. The loss of their world was painful, the necessary ending of life following it was unendurable.
As a result of this, their normally structured and emotionally-devoid minds were overwhelmed with a flood of powerful and conflicting emotions. This had a disastrous effect on their psyches, resulting in the entire race becoming emotionally unstable, fractious and prone to rapid and contradictory changes in emotional state. A Tessary in a joyful situation is as prone to lapsing into a fit of murderous rage as they are falling into a inconsolable sobbing heap or laughing hysterically. The Tessary ambassador, for this very reason, tends to abstain from most social events.
After first contact with the humans, the Tessary offered them a unique opportunity. The Tessary provided humanity the blueprint for the psionic network in exchange for their assistance in finding a means for the aliens to resettle and restore what they could of their race.
So it was that a brilliant, but greviously ill, young scientist was assigned to help set up the infrastructure of the network. His name was Alexander T Marshal and from his earliest years he had been a child savant, being gifted and talented far above the scale for his age all through his life. The reason for his vast intellect was a malignant tumor embedded deep within his brain, too deep and too connected to too many vital neural functions to be safely operable. Marshal realised, early in the project that the psionic network would need a highly advanced neural net to properly maintain it’s functions and, while such technology existed, it was far too inefficient for the task. Which left only one option: The most efficient and powerful neural net he knew of in existence was his own brain. And so, with help from the Tessary, Marshal underwent the psionic augmentation, blasting open the limits of his mind and expanding his consciousness. He became the core of the human psionic network.
With the establishment of the psionic network, humans were able to undergo a similar, but less extreme version of Marshal’s augmentation, resulting in them becoming linked to the network and gaining the ability to develop psionic powers. They were also mentally linked, both with each other and with Marshal, since the network provided an open information exchange to take place. The psionic network was no place to have secrets, there was nowhere to hide sins or crimes from the minds of other psionics. But this was a small price to pay for the ability to instantly and effectively pass sensory data or thoughts to other psionics. During the process of mass augmentation, Marshal started to have difficulty maintaining a conscious state. He would lapse into a catatonic state which was initially only an hour or two, but swiftly became longer and longer as more and more people became augmented. It’s not known whether the number of psionics linked to the network is the cause, or if it has something to do with his inoperable tumor, but all that is known is that Marshal is slowly dying, and his periods of catatonia are getting longer and longer. His most recent catatonic state is close to reaching a year.
Within the network, psionics have reported getting flashes of information from Marshal, usually disjointed thoughts, ideas and memories; a half-finished blueprint here, a memory of childhood there, a query about the thrust vectoring system of an orbital shuttle somewhere else. Most psionics find these intrusions unthreatening, but they are all uneasily aware of the fact that Marshal is dying. Many of them have reported feelings of mortality in the wake of visions such as these.
The process of psionic augmentation is long and involved, requiring deep cranial nano-surgery and a process that takes the brain almost to the point of complete brain-death. As such, the procedure is not always successful and an unsuccessful procedure is always fatal. As a result, there are still relatively few psionics active, though the numbers are slowly increasing. Once completed, the psionic is permanently and irrevocably connected to the psionic network, there is no ‘disconnecting’ or even ‘shielding’. A recent technological advancement in this field of research is the psi-collar, a device with a number of reactive crystals within its structure that resonate with the wearer’s unique psionic presence. The psi-collar then gives out a dissonant field which effectively blocks out the psionic network, cutting the psionic free of the network. This device is not, however, without side-effects. Prolonged use of the device can result in the wearer suffering from debilitating migraines, which cannot be medically treated and even wearing one for a short period of time can cause headaches and a lack of attentiveness in the wearer. Added to this, nearby psionics become aware of the collar-wearer, simply because they can feel the dissonance given off by the collar. Its use is currently rare
There will be no guidelines for this just be creative if you want some and I will let you know once your submission if it will work or not or what you will have to do to get it to work in this game.
